- A group performance choreographed by Tyce Diorio, 2 young dancers from Mary Murphy's Champion Ballroom Academy and 2 dancers from the Alvin Ailey Dance Company perform. Musical guest is Christina Perri. Comfort and tWitch perform.
- The night began with a cheery Tyce DiOrio Broadway routine, but things were going to get a whole lot more gloomy when the results on So You Think You Can Dance were announced Thursday and someone was sent home.
After some talk about the big online dance project the show is running, host Cat Deeley got to some results.
To the results: Cat first called Lauren and Kent to the stage to learn whether either of them would be joining Ashley in the bottom three (remember, shes automatically in the bottom three due to her injury). Cat told them, Im afraid to say that person is ... not on this stage right now. They were both safe.
Be our guests: A couple of kids, Fernando and Lauren, from Mary Murphys dance studio took the stage. Later, Jamar Roberts and Rachel McLaren from the Alvin Ailey Dance Company performed.
The flashback to the all-stars this week focused on Twitch and Comfort, who performed an encore of their Dave Scott routine from Season 4. It was the first time hip-hop dancers were paired on the show.
Finally, a new discovery -- a pianist named Christina Perri -- whose song Jar of Hearts was used in a Stacey Tookey routine two weeks ago on the show, performed her tune, which rose on the Billboard Digital charts after the show two weeks earlier.
Back to the results: The next two dancers to the stage were Billy and Adechike. One of them was bound for the bottom three. It was Billy. Mia Michaels said she was shocked to see him in the bottom because she felt like he had a breakthrough this week. She told him to keep moving in the direction hes going, if hes lucky enough to stick around.
Jose and Robert were the final two contestants to the stage, and one of them was guaranteed a spot in the bottom three, while the other would be safe. Robert was safe and Jose was in the bottom three. Adam started by asking Jose how he felt about getting this far, and Jose said he expects every week to be in the bottom and is honored to have made it this far. Adam told him to go compete for his spot.
After the solos, the judges came back with a decision. He told Jose that one of the dances he did Wednesday took his personality and that Wednesday night he put more fight and energy into his solo. He told Billy they thought he was on the right track, but he has to do more than just the technically sound moves hes already proven he can do. Nigel then told Ashley that both of her doctors have told him she needs three to five weeks of rest and in the interest of her health, safety and career, they had to let her go. Ashley cried.
Ashley said she was very disappointed and said it just hurts that I have to leave like this.
