A Worthy Successor to the original.

It's the same story as the original Anime and Manga. Ataru constantly hits on girls even though Shinobu is his girlfriend. They frequently beat him up. Ataru is randomly selected by a computer to save the world. He must play a game of tag with Princess Lum and grab her by the horns. If he fails the alien Onis will take over the world. Shinobu says she will marry Ataru if he wins. He catches her and says "I'm gonna marry her." Lum thinks Ataru is talking about her and thinks she is married to him. When he tries to hit on other girls Lum uses her powers to electrocute him. They always go on crazy adventures together. The Art in the reboot is gorgeous. It's a mix of the original 80's style and a more modern art style. They try to introduce all the characters from the manga as fast as possible. The original 80's anime took longer to introduce the characters. Unfortunately the violence is slightly toned down. They sometimes use freeze frames but it's still funny.

Fun show Warning: Spoilers
Hello fellow Humans,

This Anime is pretty good. It has all the classics. A Hot alien woman falling in love with an average human. If course this human Ataru is for some reason a complete a hole to Lum the gorgeous alien woman. She is for some reason in love with Ataru and he treats her like garbage. Now as someone who was in a 14 year relationship but because I got Bone Cancer and could not work anymore even though I have applied for well over 2000 jobs. Apparently either humans don't hire disabled people or the algorithm deletes my resume before it gets to a human. But either way I wasn't able to make my ex money and because of my permanent disability I wasn't able to do the cooking and cleaning like I use to do. So she kicked me out for as she said being worthless and useless. So I know what it's like to give it your all and treat someone like a queen for them to just treat you like trash. So my one thing I hate about this show is how horrible Ataru treats Lum. Treating someone like trash is a horrible things to do. But I am only on episode 7 so maybe he will be nicer in the long run.

Silly but didn't mind watching weekly

This show has some really silly humour for sure. That's probably because it's a remake of an 80s show so that humour probably hasn't aged well. There are also a few episodes that just went too far or didn't make sense to me. But I did find plenty of episodes enjoyable. It's not exactly a laugh-out-loud comedy, but it's enjoyable enough. You'll find some of the characters irritating, but others funny. I was hoping for some subtle character development, especially for the romance, so hopefully we get that in the second season.

The soundtrack is pretty funny. The animation is good too.

In the end this show very much depends on the person themselves, whether they'll like it or not. I thought it fine and fun enough and I'll look forward to the second season.

God, I hate cliffhangers

Warning: Spoilers
Not a great fan of anime here, but I enjoyed this one.

Some of characters were great, some were irritating, some were both, some.. Well, I think you could have just ignored them, since they have no impact on story.

Either way, it was quite interesting to see how Ataru develops as a character. At the end of first season, it seemed to me that he fully realizes his attachment for Lum, but still can't accept this. He becomes less of a moron, though, acting more protective (sort of) and less mean towards her, happy (deep inside) that she is around and close to him (his crying when she left him, sincere happiness when Lum grows back to her normal size, his overall more warm attitude to her and that silly moment in the end of last episode, when he blushes and hesitates while having his "wife" under him on the ground).

Can't wait to see how this reboot will end (can't say I really liked how the original one ended (ffs Ataru, just say it, you idiot!)).

Hoping for a happy ending where Ataru finally says that he loves her, embraces her, etc.

8/10 Enjoyed it, but some absurd moment were too silly for me.
