The dramatic arc of the entire series was ruined by the abbreviated last season

Warning: Spoilers
The dramatic arc of the entire series was ruined by the abbreviated last season. The last season needed 10 episodes rather than seven.

The last episode was far too rushed. Taking care of Satu, Peter Knox, Benjamin, and Gebert all in one final episode was a mistake dramatically. This should have been done over 3 or 4 episodes. Instead, we are left feeling rushed. Also, it makes no sense that once Matthew and family understood that Gebert had helped murder Phillipe that they wouldn't have immediately sought revenge.

Overall a great series with an especially strong start but marred by a rushed ending.

Silly anticlimax

Warning: Spoilers
The writers were probably told to wrap it up, not in another season or 3 or 4 more episodes, RIGHT NOW!

There are three main battles:

Diana brings all her most powerful friends to rescue Matthew, then randomly, at the last second, says "This is my battle" and blocks their way. Why? I don't know.

She then nuetralizes the two dangerous opponents with a wiggle of her little fingers. It's almost like they went willingly. 30 seconds max.

Then, the one with the covenant. Diane talks to them for about a minute and they all turn to her side leaving the big bad villain sitting there after centuries of planning, looking confused.

Then, happily ever after - the end.

Well that was easy

Warning: Spoilers
I did not have any great expectations from the series finale, it is after all a stereotypical fantasy romance where a super special girl met a tall dark stranger and people (or creatures, in this case) immediately knelt before their awesomeness.

But come on. They have to face the bad guys, deal with them once and for all, the whole party goes to save Matthew and then.... Diana just waves her hand and defeats both the super powerful bad witch and the somewhat random evil vampire in half a second, without any effort, without the hint of a difficulty. It was, simply, laughable. We get it, she's super special, no one thought she would lose, but please. The hero's journey requires at least some semblance of a challenge, otherwise it is reduced to, well, this.

She then has to face the congregation - maybe she needs to put some effort there? Nope. She has evidence for her case, but barely uses it. Worse though is that Gerbert (who by the way is the 10th century Pope, right? Should this not be at some point mentioned to actually give him some character development instead of him being the sulky jealous guy because he is not a member of the special family?) has no real support - we already know that Domenico is not really on his side, the demons wouldn't be (there's some kind of plot to remove Agatha so he can gain support but that's very quickly forgotten), so again, there is not even some minimum effort to suspend disbelief.

Oh, and by the way, I suppose the conclusion is hooray, let's mingle, who cares about blood rage?

TERRIBLE.

To know that all the many hours id spend in the show, and to get the ending we all did. It felt dull, half complete, rushed, lifeless. The show had a lot of potential, a huge array of interesting characters where lots and lots of character development could have been inserted. But nothing of that sort came to be. The fruits never riped.

Of the ending of the show, id only say this - it left me feel not just dissatified, but made it laugh as to how simply things ended, and it disappointed me so greatly. To build all that tension only to kill all the main to semi main villains in the end at the click of the finger. Dont know what the writers intended to do, really, the show was never good for its writing anyway. If not for the intriguing world the writer of the book Deborah Harkness had built, this show would have been down the water long, long ago.

Advice : Save your time. Watch a youtube recap if it gets one.

An insult to the whole story line

3 seasons to build up all these enemies, and then they ruin the ending. It's like standing in line for a roller coaster for 3 hours to have it be 20 seconds long and about 2 mph.

A complete letdown.

To say the finale was an anticlimax would be an understatement. We've watched Diana grow into this super powerful witch that could finally confront the powerful but dark satu.

I was expecting Dumbledore vs Voldemort, what we got was more like Ron Weasley vs Neville longbottom.

A disappointing end to an otherwise very intriguing and enjoyable show.
