(at around 28 mins) When the cop pulls Daniel Atlas's neck, Atlas's right handcuff becomes undone. Then, in the next shot, it is back on correctly.
In the FBI office, the clock on the wall goes from 11:17 to 11:27 and then back to 11:17.
At 1:19:00 when Cowan is briefing Evans, Fuller, Rhodes and Dray about the paperwork Rhodes pulled out of the car before it blew up, Cowan mentions the "trigger word". In the very next scene where they are trying to find the safe, Cowan mentions the "trigger word" again, but this time Evans is activated and begins "playing the violin".
Near the beginning of the movie Thaddeus says that Lionel Shrike died in his steel safe in the East River. However the newspaper article towards the end of the movie says that Shrike died in the Hudson River.
When Thaddeus Bradley is explaining to Dylan Rhodes and Alma Dray how he began his career exposing magicians, the camera cuts to Rhodes twice. However, both cuts are exactly the same. All three characters are seated at a table. At different points during the scene, two ladies are seen passing each other on a set of stairs just behind Rhodes' as he tilts his head to listen more intently to Bradley's story. The same cut is used twice.
INTERPOL is not a police agency, but an international organization formed to provide cooperation on international police cooperation.
It has no field agents.
It has no field agents.
Dish Uplink Trucks cannot park under a bridge and shoot a satellite as shown in the Five Points scene with a news unit.
Flash paper is actually gun cotton, which is an explosive but just burns quickly without exploding in small amounts in an open space. Igniting a large pile of flash paper in an enclosed space would cause a severe explosion.
Alma Dray (Mélanie Laurent) is said to be an Interpol agent. But Interpol has no agents. It is an NGO that facilitates co-operation across national borders between police agencies.
In the explanation of the Four Horsemen's first trick, they explained the time difference between Las Vegas and Paris is 12 hours. In actual fact the difference in time zones is 10 hours.
When the Frenchman is let out of the bogus "vault" in Las Vegas, he would eventually realize he was still in Las Vegas (USA), NOT in France.
The person who delivers the card to Henley clearly states the amount of preparation necessary for the events of the film. It is reasonable to assume that the card she received was waterproof. (In fact, a commercially available brand of playing cards is made in real life that can be used underwater.)
While it's possible to project a "hollow" effect on the side of a building, it must be carefully calculated to account for the viewer's position, and only works while the viewer is in that spot. If the viewer is in wrong position, the perspective of the projection and the shape of the building no longer match and the illusion is broken. Yet in the final trick, the "hollow building" effect is seen from above, below, in front, left, and right, simultaneously, and moves with the movie camera. The audience would only see a weird, skewed image of the building.
(at around 1hr 23mins) Projections are made onto the side of a building. This is onto walls heavily covered with graffiti, and lots of windows. Yet the projections appear as if they are onto a clean white surface, not the actual walls and windows.
When they put the mirror down to hide the safe it reflects their bodies yet when the fbi and security personal storm the room their bodies are not reflected.
Last shot of the key floating to the bottom of the river, shows lots of other keys on the river bottom, presumably to the locks up on the bridge. Except they are all Kwikset house key locks, not used for padlocks.
At 0:28:32 Atlas rises from his chair to swap the handcuffs. Freeze-framing through the edit reveals Atlas is shown face-on releasing his handcuffs, and in the next shot, his hands are back on the table with the handcuffs still fully on. The running of the film therefore jumps backwards in time for a fraction of a second.
Annoyed at Daniel, a fan storms out of his room, closing the door behind her. The sound of the door closing is heard before the door actually finishes closing.
After Jack escapes the apartment in the car, Alma pulls up and yells at Dylan to never tell her to stay in the car. Dylan then replies "Fine! Now go!" In the reverse angle where Dylan says "Fine!" his jaw doesn't move. Theatrical version only.
When the four Horsemen find the blueprints in the abandoned apartment, there is one shot panning around. During this shot, Henley says "It's a show", but her lips read something totally different.
When the Four Horsemen are setting up the giant mirror hiding the safe, you can see their reflections in the mirror. However, any of the FBI agents close enough to the mirror could look up and see their reflections as well, ruining the trick and proving the safe was still in the warehouse.
In the bank heist scene, it is not explained how the Frenchman got back to Las Vegas from the Paris bank vault.
Dylan's beard stubble is inconsistent with FBI dress code. He should be clean-shaven.
Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher), after magically coming out from the piranha tank, celebrates with the audience by giving a high-five to a few people. But she misses the last high-five.
(at around 58 mins) "He's heading south on Exchange Place". The windows on the left indicate this scene is at the corner of Bienville Street and Exhange Place. So they are heading North, not South.
In the first scene when Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher) is locked in the fish tank, she had to act like she was drowning, so the crew didn't realise when she was actually drowning.
