Scenes were shot at several different horse and dog tracks around Boston, including Wonderland and Suffolk, in order to create a completely fictional horse racing track that does not exist anywhere else but on film.
Several of the police officers in the movie are real police officers from the Quincy Massachusetts Police Department. Several scenes were filmed in and oustide the Quincy Police Headquarters as well.
Director Arthur Luhn, striving for an authentic feel, frequently casted ex-cons and felons in the film, although he ran into continuity trouble when several of them became unavailable from time to time due to being behind bars.
The black car which plays a pivotal role in the film is a 1970 Lincoln Continental Mark III.
