While Not A Breakthrough, Offers An Above Average Entertaining Experience
tabuno19 March 2023
There are hundreds of comedy romance movies out there and like the business themed background to this movie, the competition is harsh and tough. This predictable movie has its charm along with some of the best photography of an exotic place, St. Martins. One could describe this movie as more drama than comedy and it works well as this stuck-up billionaire executive tries to convince another smaller business owner to sell her business so he can acquire a special battery that would significantly increase this big business's bottom line. The eventual triangle between one man and two women is handled quite well, exceeding the typical problematic relational difficulties of other movies. The evolution of the billionaire is handled pretty well and the typical banter is scripted above average while the typical dramatic moments as required of comedy romance movie is intriguingly fresh, though it could have been developed a bit more. The editing of this movie also stands out, making scenes shorter with a nice bite to them, leaving out more wasteful dialogue. This rom-com is enjoyable, nicely muted, but does not break huge ground. It is, however, worth one viewing and taking the time to savor the sights and production values of this movie.

Actors play felt artificial
a_kpch2 January 2024
I enjoyed general storyline but had a feeling from every moment the actors play is artificial. I don't know what it is about - the pauses where they respond before they had a time to consume the information, maybe facial expressions that do not match what is said or feeling they are trying to remember the lines, mismatching connections between the shots or the combination of all above. Even internals of a jet look artificial. Could have been just my perception but there are only handful of movies that I had that feeling about.

Overall - ok to watch once but is not looking to be re-watching. Just ok overall.

Chris Reid is impressive
uncsbuddy9123 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Physically, Chris Reid is obviously quite attractive. That's the cliché of this type of movie and to be expected. However, to be able to portray a character so callous that you can't see past his personality to appreciate the eye candy takes skill. I could feel nothing more than aggressive disdain for him until he finally began to grow as a character.

Beyond that, the story is the typical predictable journey: highly competent but bumbling side piece (the brother), gorgeous modest woman who's not afraid to put an arrogant man in his place and return him to the charming prince he's been hiding for many years.

The lead male's character destroys the movie
EPMD573 July 2023
The lead male is incredibly unrealistic. He's wealthy, but wealthy people don't act like he does. No one does. And this isn't just occasional bits of jerky behaviour -- it's every single word and interaction he has. He is completely awful. He is an irredeemable jerk, and for some reason, everyone is all too willing to put up with it. A bunch of sellouts acquiescing to the jerk. That's not a great setup for a movie.

Obviously the plot and characters evolve in ways you can probably predict, but the opening half hour destroys any hope of realism the movie hoped to attain.

The scenery, though, is spectacular. It kept me watching, despite the fact that the lead character was despicable.

Above Average Hallmark-Style Rom-Com
mmyy6 June 2023
What do you need for a good Hallmark-Style Rom-Com. You need a male lead and a female lead that are engaging and have some chemistry. Check. You need a plot that, even if it follows a predictable pattern, has a few quirks and twists that make it interesting. Check. You need a fun background for the action to take place. Check. You need good dialogue with a little wit. Check. Most Rom-Coms in one way or another follow a Jane Austen book. This movie is no exception. We've got Pride and Prejudice here with an arrogant billionaire learning some life-lessons and falling in love with a spunky female who's not afraid to stand up to him. It's really nicely done from the beginning to the concluding kiss you know is coming but it's not about the kiss, it's about the journey and this is a fun one.

It wasn't bad
princessprunie16 September 2022
It wasn't bad. Over all, the movie was fun to watch, the brother Pete's many facial expressions had me and my mum cracking up most of the movie. We did notice the main actresses hair changed abruptly from dirty blond to almost black with no explanation. 😂 I personally found the main male lead pretty annoying, but the story was still fun and engaging. Not something I'd rewatch(I only do that when they're really **** good) but it did the job just fine. (I did think the guys character changed about to fast to be at all realistic but ehh so what.. at least us forget about the crippling depression that is life for an 1 and 33 minutes. (Yes I'm rambling because I'm trying to fulfill the amount of characters needed to submit this review)

I liked it
amarnold-524536 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this movie. It wasn't too sappy like other rom-coms are. I loved Sashaleigha's character Addison. I loved the way she challenged Justin and pushed him to be more aware of other people. The way she was protective of her brother was so sweet. Despite how Justin treated the brother, he never let it get to him. He kept a positive attitude. He never lost sight of the bigger picture for him. I loved the friendship that developed between Addison and Katrina. It was a genuine friendship too. My favorite part of the movie was at the last part when Justin flooded her house with flowers and asked her if she would take a chance on him. So sweet.

Great scenery
jenny-7252610 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The only positive thing about this so-called movie is the scenery. It would be a great advertisement for tourism IF you could remove the actors. The movie itself is trite. Predictable. The characters are your atypical romance schtick. She's the strong, sensible female. He's the brutish, self-centered rich guy. I tried to watch it; however, I kept finding myself clinch my teeth to the point my jaw ached. It has the worst script imaginable. It is like someone opened up a book on what not to write and followed it faithfully. Even the interaction between the female lead and her hopelessly desperate brother is predictable.

Main male lead reminds me of a wannabe Miranda Priestly and Terence Fletcher
ztothart26 July 2023
The main male lead in this just gets me annoyed bc I see how the writers wnt to make him a stereotypical mean boss. I see some inspiration from the devil herself, Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada. In general he was annoying and his big character development seemed rushed.

To create a somewhat likable stereotypical mean boss is when u bring in Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada and Terence Fletcher from Whiplash.

Also some of the camera shots were horrible and the cinematography wasn't rlly good quality. It felt cheap.

The whole story felt like a generic plot and felt like a Hallmark movie.

Pretty Good
cynthiafunches5 February 2023
I enjoyed watching this movie. I liked the lead female character, Addison, and how she is portrayed by Sashleigha Hightower. Chris Reid as Justin was believable in his role. As usual...the relationship starts off rocky but the difference in this story is that you could see when and why these two started and did develop romantic feelings for each other. Typically, in these romance movies I never understand how or why the leads fall in love.

The journey from dislike to like to love was engaging and we see and feel the transition.

Even Addison as brother Pete, played by Tanner Gillman made a progressive change as well. I was on the fence at first with his character who wad really just a vehicle to introduce/involve the sister in the story.

Overall, I recommend watching. Not sure if I would watch it again but I did enjoy it.

Okay
rhonnie-431393 February 2023
This movie was ok. I thought the actors did a good enough job. I liked the storyline. Sure there were some inconsistencies but overall it kept my interest.

The relationships depicted were ok. I found the dynamic between the leads worked well. It reminded me of the romance stories I used to read which I don't have the time for anymore.

In any case I always appreciate movies that are filmed in nice locations. This one met my expectations in that regard.

It was the usual ending. I think overall it met my expectations. I could watch it again, if it comes again, months from now or next year. I did not save it.

Good Movie
ddltheb7 April 2023
This was a good movie. I loved the story line. The actors did a great job and I thought they each were very convincing. The scenery was very beautiful and riding the horses was something that added that romantic touch. It would be great to do a sequel and continue seeing this relationship grow. I thought Chris Reid did an excellent job of representing the billionaire. Excellent acting from everyone. I rated this movie a ten because of the story and great actors. Hope to see more of these actors in the future. This was one of my favorites and I watched it several times.....Good movie, rated a 10.

The world of profit at all costs is challenged by having consideration of people
eimbier7 April 2023
Addison Burke, on vacation from her medical practice management job, awkwardly gets snagged in to help her brother who works for the boss of a billion dollar company. She gets to see the two sides first hand, of how the CEO mistreats his underlings, and how his people try to butter him up for future career advantages. The film takes you to St Martin where all try to make a killing buying a company. Written and edited by Brian Brough. The film was very well cast, especially with Sashleigha Hightower. Because the script with so much subtle humor, I had to watch it a second time to laugh again and process the pressures of uber-corporate life.

Pleasant, Funny, Delightful!
melissaculver-322734 July 2023
Such a breath of fresh air! I have seen too many movies lately that are filled with indoctrination, propaganda, and unwholesome content. This narrative is far from those other titles. Beauty and the Billionaire is wholesome. Delightful. Funny. Absolutely splendid.

I really appreciated the brother-sister relationship. I lost my brother two years ago. The interactions between Addison and Pete were so sweet. They were a perfect pair.

The plot line kept me attentive. I definitely wanted to see how the relationships would form over the course of struggle and resolution. The highs and lows were well-timed.

Nicely done by the writers! I absolutely want more of this. You struck gold on this one. Thank you so much.

For Romance lovers this GREAT, way better than usual chessy romance
mrocco-113 January 2024
I watch a lot of romance movies from big budget RomComs to Hallmark. Although I pretty much enjoy them all, there's often frustration around the scripted 'conflict' that leaves me screaming at the TV "just tell him!" I stumbled upon this Prime offering not expecting more than the usual Hallmark level fare. To my surprise I found the writing of this was way above my expectations. The actors all did a great job and all the elements made sense. The set up to allow the romance to occur worked. The always needed 'conflict' really worked (no misheard end of a conversation that a simple dialogue would solve or silly secret). The whole movie gelled together really well. I looked up the production company, candlelight media LLC. That lead me to another one of their romance movies 'Love in Aruba' also on prime. It featured the same actress (she's really pretty, likable and believable). This was another romance with a great story line! Kudos to them, it's awesome to see someone putting in an effort to come up with above par scripts to fulfill my need for cheesy romance. Both movies were delightful, thank you for that. When I logged into IMDB I saw something in the trivia section about 5 collaborations between writer producer and actress, I will have to seek them out.
