Wonderful Closing

Warning: Spoilers
This episode has the typically good story line, fine acting, and keeps your interest. It deals with some familiar family issues (which always set Medium apart from other police/investigation procedurals); aided by the remarkable acting of the two oldest sibling portrayers. But is was the ending scene which provides unusually feel-good moments. Detective Scanlon's wedding reception is beautifully presented (with Etta James "At Last") playing in the background. The resolution of Ariel's moving away to New Hampshire's Dartmouth is presented with acceptance of her loving parents, and Scanlon and his hew wife appear genuinely happy. The reception is elegant, and respectfully treated, unlike most modern day shows which poke fun at this ritual. Really satisfying.

Unpopular opinion, I know! But my God! Allison was blind and believed everything she see first vs investigate. And is extra annoying in this episode!! Case was a blah!

Ariel lasted longer than I expected. I really thought she was gonna get drunk and drive (run away) away then join her mother. Surprised me that she chose drinking vs anti-anxiety med.

Awww!!! 😭😭😭😭 Lee's wedding is so beautiful!! 😍! Agree if the last episode suck, this episode should had been the series finale.

Should this have been the finale?

Looking at the history surrounding the end of this season and the decision to renew Medium for another season but for only half the amount of episodes... one can look at this episode and believe that they were writing a finale rather than just an end to a season. This would've been a beautiful ending. "To the future!"

Unbelievable

Warning: Spoilers
I liked some elements of this episode however it seemed rushed and I have an issue with how the death of Devalos was handled.

As ab insulin dependent diabetic, insulin overdose doesn't quite work the way they appear to have portrayed it simply showing Devalos doing a faceplant in his office. Even diabetics who are no longer as sensitive to rapidly falling blood glucose (sugar) display symptoms that indicate we are in trouble. It seems obvious that they did not consult with anyone knowledgeable about the disease. Additionally, modern insulins or their analogs such as those available for 20+ years are long acting and far less likely to cause such a rapid fall leading to death.

The episode was otherwise interesting with what I felt was a predictable ending that did not detract from my enjoyment.
