a film that will one day be a Berlin icon
ff-228-543622 December 2011
Through the eyes of Greta, a smart, acerbic and recently unemployed architect and mother of a 12 year old boy, we are given an insight into numerous levels of contemporary Berlin: the urban landscapes from wastelands to gated communities, the precarious bohemian lifestyles people lead. Greta's meandering through coaching sessions, Jobs she is absurdly unsuited to, and as she calls in favors and debts from friends and associates reveals how easily reality is fragmented. And throughout we are treated to a perspective on relationships that is both wry and uncompromising with an undertow of quiet desperation. A film that can be appreciated on many levels and with its own brand of humor.
