One of the funniest episodes

From the first time I saw this episode and 10 years later this episode is hysterical. I totally disagree with the other review about racism ITS A JOKE

The scene where he tries to do charades bc he thinks the other triad leader doesn't speak English is classic as well as the scene at the dojo where Shawn gets into the kids class due to ageism. Gus is the best in that scene.

Just so much funny silliness in this one if there are Chinese people that are offended then I'm sorry but I thought the jokes mostly made Shawn look foolish and the many Chinese actors including Bruce Locke (who I love) were great at interacting with Shawn & Gus' juvenile antics.

This episode was cringeworthy...

Warning: Spoilers
I like Psyche and I don't think it really got the recognition it deserved over its eight seasons.

This episode was cringeworthy, particularly with Shawn's casually racist remarks towards Ken (played by Actor Jerry Shea). I rolled my eyes whenever Shawn and Ken were in the same scene...I'm sure Jerry was professional about this, and acting is a job that has to pay the bills. But still.

I know fans will say that Shawn is Shawn but really, what he said was offensive. I know people will defend it with "don't be politically correct", etc. but where I come from it's called manners.

Lame

A disappointing season opener. The story was weak. Having Henry rejoin SBPD to be "in charge" of his son an Gus has a long way to go to be purposeful.

Way too racist

This could have been another really good episode. The mystery is entertaining. Sadly it's super racist. Can't even say it aged poorly. It was bad when it came out. Shawn does say slightly, mildly racist things here and there in the series as "jokes", but this episode is hard to watch.

It starts with shoehorning in Ken in the beginning just so he can be brought back later on as their source then interpreter. Because Shawn and Gus seem to know absolutely no other Chinese people and the show, filmed in Vancouver, has had virtually no East Asian people on it for four years. That's a problem in itself.

Then you have all the instances they have Gus point out are problematic. They're supposed to be jokes, but hanging a lantern on their racist nature doesn't make them funny or acceptable. Yet Shawn doesn't stop. He just keeps going and going and going. It's just really awkward for long sections of the show. As I said, Shawn has made the rare borderline joke here and there in the show. But I hate watching this and finding out the character we all love can be so horrible.

I have no idea why this was allow to be made. I'll have to remember to skip it on any future rewatches.

Worst Psych Episode Ever

Warning: Spoilers
The only good thing about this episode was the fighting scenes. Other than that the plot was predictable and Shawn's character when from arrogant yet caring jerk in previous seasons to ignorant(choosing to be unknowable) rude white guy stereotype! The level of racism which could have been funny if used correctly would been a passing laugh moment or two. However in this episode it was so much just made me cringe the whole episode. It was like needing a teaspoon and you added a cup!

The conflict between Shawn and his dad is just there and makes the episode seem messy. There was no real conversation between them. Henry was just not you can't do it with these pauses like something was going to be said but nothing was. Then Shawn was just like a cocky teenager on drugs thinking he was above it all and not relatable to anything. The cops do not play any role other than cheer up for Juliet. The Juliet scenes were just boring, understandable but boring. I have never seen the Cheif and Lassy used so badly used.

This episode was just poorly written! Visually good but the rest of the episode was absolute trash. Now I have never had much interest in this show and have never left a review for it. Mostly it is just something to have on while I wind down after work but this episode was just horrible!!!
