Sometimes, a Short Can Be Too Long

Warning: Spoilers
The concept of "La Statue" is interesting. A statue comes to life, harasses two clowns and leaves them to their own devices. The statue is of a hunter. It's in an unusual pose as the film begins. I've never seen a statue reclining outside of a cemetery. There are also two clowns. One of them appears to depress a button and the statue comes to live, dancing for a while and then hitting the nearest clown on the head. The clown at first thinks his fellow clown has done it. It happened twice. (Yawn!) A bit later, the statue gets bored with the clowns and leaves the scene. One clown has left, but returns with a camera to take a picture of the statue. This throws the other clown into a panic, so he decides to pose as the statue. The clown with the camera goes over to where the "new statue" is and the clown hits him in the head with his sword. I'm sure audiences in 1905 France probably fell out of their chairs laughing, but it gave me a headache! Your five minutes can be better spent elsewhere!
