Really funny show. For Stromberg fans a great alternative and a must see! Funny jokes and funny storyline. It reminds me of thr real german discounter life. Boring work, but with great co workers a perfect place to work. Please release more!

As i read about the plot (daily life of supermarket store) i didnt expect much to be honest but the dialogs and the storyline are pretty authentic and well played probably due to the improvise style. Really enjoyed that kind of acting and i got some the office vibes here. Looking forward for season 2.

It's a great show and a must watch if you like shows like The Office & Stromberg.
The characters are funny, creative and the acting is exactly what you need for a show like this.

I actually did laugh out loud while watching it. And I love this barrier break, when the actors look directly at the camera or give interviews. It's very "Modern Family"-like.

Finally some good German comedy.
Having a great laugh. The actors are stunning!
Endlich mal eine gute deutsche Comedy Produktion. Hoffe, dass wir noch mehr in den Genuß solcher Formate kommen dürfen.

This series is really funny! I definitely recommend watching it. You won't regret it.
Unfortunately only 8 episodes so far. I wish there was a follow up.
Keep up the great work!

Rare, good, german comedy!
Love the essemble and the rhytm of the show, the characters are pretty cool. Its produced by Christian Ulmen, so we're in good hands.
More please :)

A german way of Modern Family but with supermarket-workers instead of a family. The way, they look into the camera in weird moments lotta reminds me of MF. Thorsten, their boss, is as dumb as Phil Dunphy is, but without his positive, charming sides.
I hope there will be a 2nd season!

Daily lives of workers at a German "low budget" store. Very similar to Gervais Office and Stromberg. Actually the humor and jokes are way better than what You would expect from a German comedy. I think that the rating of 12 is fairly low, I would say 14 as the minimum. Nevertheless the actors play their role very well, I was laughing a lot. Perhaps the epsiodes could be longer, I have the the feeling that they were rushed a little. I would certainly see further episodes as well as have a peek in the private lives of the characters. Long story short: If You think Germans have no sense of humor, You should watch these series.
Compared to English-speaking TV shows it is very boring, unfunny and dry, but I use it to learn the language, so it is fine for that purpose.
Of course, it is a copy of office, but it really lacks in many instances.
Thorsten is a Michael Scott wannabe, but it is obvious that Scott is a much more positive character compared to this guy, but whatever...
Good thing is it is relatively short so once you get bored it is already ended.
Overall if I did not need it for a language learning I would rate it as 5-6 but because the German competition is low(Germans suck at making movies/TV shows) it is okay.

Loved the show in the first season. Honestly, hard to keep the level of comedy but the third season appears pretty childish an uninspired.
The change if setting in the third season is sort of random, as it does not have any impact on the storyline.
Although i liked the random and unexpected jokes in the first seasons, now the story, conversations and jokes appear quite obvious. I am aware that the shoe is based on quite some improvised conversations, these orient themselves to much on those of the first two seasons.
I feel the show needs some new characters, instead of keeping the same relationships between the actors.
Still love the first two seasons!

The only good thing is the actor of Jonas, Merlin Sandmeyer, he is definitely the heart of the series, without him I wouldn't have watched the series this far, he just makes me laugh all the time.
The rest of the characters are predictable and often just not funny. The plot also gets worse from season to season and they use all the cliché storylines that you've seen a hundred times better in other series. I have the feeling that the impro concept doesn't work here because there's not enough talent in this area. A lot of it is rather preposterous and dull gags. It was an attempt to make a good mockumentary in Germany, but it just doesn't come close to the international series that it feels like it's trying to imitate or where the inspiration came from.
The third season didn't feel complete, it stopped before it even got going. I give Merlin sandmeyer 10/10 stars, the rest of the series 3/10.

'Die Discounter' is a German TV show centered around daily life of being a no-frills store employee.
While the approach is somewhat new for the European audience it is nothing to be hyper aware of. Mainly, due to the fact that 'Superstore' has had successfully employed this workplace enviroment almost a half a decade earlier and with less of a slapstick approach.
Since 'Die Discounter' does not want to take risks it cross-referenced its predictable cast of characters with ideas from 'The Office' and adds a fair amount of toilet humor to it. So novelty is not really a strong suit of the show.
Many elements are just so blatently ripped of off international shows such as 'Superstore', 'The Office' and 'Two Broke Girls' that one cannot get into the MO of not comparing the wooden acting and bleak scenery of a reletivly young and unknown show to that of said international entertainment works.
So 5 stars.

This series is just another example of uncreative stoopid German TV producers and untalented German actors who already failed in other productions, combined with guest appearances of stupid wannabe influencers from Youtube or whatever, who try too hard to be funny without beeing it. Instead of bring some new and fresh content, they just steal from existing series. Here we have an extreme lousy copy of the original series Superstore wich runs at Netflix and NBC. If i could i would give this lame s... zero stars!
