When you spend 1000 years trying to break a curse you learn a thing or two...

Warning: Spoilers
Damon's flippant attitude towards the prospect of Bonnie dying isn't so nice, but his "I'll write her a great eulogy." line was nevertheless funny.

I appreciated the detail of Stefan's reaction (rubbing his head/grabbing Elena's hand) upon hearing that the final part of the ritual involved Klaus drinking Elena's blood to the point of her death. Interesting how things changed, though, when Damon seemed to be the only one truly concerned about Elena's possibly permanent deadness.

Jenna with a crossbow! Awesome! Alaric proving he was now himself by revealing that Jeremy walked in on him and Jenna? Hilarious (as was Jenna cutting him off and everyone's reactions to this over-share). Guess it wasn't just Elena that got an awkward eyeful of Alaric and Jenna's after dark activities.

Damn, Damon! Making Elena drink your blood? Not cool. I get his concerns, but I don't like how whenever he doesn't get his way, he does something like this against Elena's wishes. At least Stefan was respecting her decision. Damon doesn't know the meaning of respect, it seems. But while I don't necessarily agree with his actions, I did like his "Admit it, you just wish you had the balls to do it yourself." line to Stefan. Their fight was tense, especially Damon stabbing Stefan in the gut. I guess we'll see just how long Elena "never forgives" Damon for (we have heard this in the past, and it's lasted not long at all). We'll see if she can really hold a grudge.

I'm glad we got Alaric & Jenna having a moment together, and seeing how she was coping with everything (and she was coping surprisingly well. It's not every day you find out vampires are real, but Jenna seems to be handling it fairly well, which is a great testament to her character). Wish we'd spent more time on them, actually.

I enjoyed Damon's and Alaric's scene together. The addition of Klaus made it even more interesting. What I really liked was how Alaric had Damon's back the whole time.

I also enjoyed Elena and Stefan's walk together and her asking if he could just do one of his "super-powered vampire jumpy things" to get to the top of the waterfall. I liked their whole talk about the pluses/minuses of being a vampire. Has been a long time coming.

First leg-stabbing, now face-burning? Sucks to be Katherine.

Matt finally came through! Shooting the man-witch was good (though Damon should have just snapped the guy's neck to begin with, rather than taking the time to choke him to death).

Caroline & Tyler got a good scene together. I'm happy we got all these heart to heart talks between the different characters...I just wish more time could have been spent on each of them.

Nina really nailed the scene of Elena's conversation with Stefan about not wanting to be a vampire. This should silence any doubters of Nina Dobrev's acting. Well done to her (and Paul Wesley). Really good scene. It looked great, with the sun setting in the background.

Heh, Damon referring to Matt as "Boy Wonder".

Kudos again to Dobrev & Wesley during their goodbye scene when Klaus showed up. Though I was getting a BTVS flashback with the whole "Close your eyes." bit.

Ian Somerhalder did good with showing Damon's reaction to hearing Klaus had taken Elena.

Can't say I was too surprised that Klaus had Jules as his backup werewolf. The fact they brought her back with Tyler made it kinda obvious. Nor was I surprised by the fact Damon got bitten by Tyler. They didn't focus on it much when it happened, but you could clearly hear the biting noise. So I knew that was coming too. What I DIDN'T expect? Poor Jenna being made a vamp and becoming the one Klaus would use in his ritual. THAT was the biggest surprise of the episode. Well done, TVD. Though now I hate you, show, for making Jenna a vampire and therefore it being highly likely that she'll get offed. She was one of the few remaining regular humans on the show, and I liked that about her. Plus, she was my favourite still-human character. Now to go and do this to her? I'm guessing the show isn't going to keep around both Jenna *and* Caroline, and they seem to have too much fun writing Vampire Barbie, so...

This was one hell of a cliffhanger, and we're not even up to the season final yet. TVD does end-of-episode cliffhangers better than any other show I watch.

The Back-up

Damon is worried with Elena's fate and bites her to make her come back after her death. Maddax uses a spell to force Mrs. Lockwood to have an accident to bring Tyler back home. Matt is not comfortable with the situation with Caroline and he tells Sheriff Forbes. Caroline and Tyler visit his mother but they are captured by the witch Greta. Damon visits Katherine to know where the werewolf is and Katherine tells that he is with Caroline in the tombs. Maddox attacks Damon, but he is saved by Matt that is seeking out Caroline. Damon rescues Tyler and Caroline, but Tyler initiates the transformation and bites his arm. Klaus takes Caroline with him. Damon tells that he has abducted the werewolf to stop him, but Klaus shows his Plan B. Katherine tells that she was forced to call someone to replace Caroline.

"The Last Day" is one of the best episodes of this show. It is impressive the unrequited love of Damon for Elena. His ultimate attitude to save her was very clever but what will happen with the werewolf bite on his arm? The conflictive behavior of Matt saves Damon from the evil Maddox. Klaus is very smart and Damon was naive challenging him. My vote is nine.

The Last Day - The Vampire Diaries Season 2 Episode 20
ivo-cobra81 May 2013
The Vampire Diaries Season 2 is the best season so far ever in the show. In The Vampire Diaries Seasons 1 - 2 are the best one and second season beats the first season. Season 3 is really awesome good and season 4 is bad. I am planing to buy all three Seasons on Blu-ray. The first season my fiancé bought me i am still waiting till she shipped me the box. Here in the second season you have, werewolf's,Witches and Hybrids. They are not just vampires like they were in the first season.Nina Dobrev is simply amazing actress ever she portrays two roles one is Elena Gilbert and the second time she is Katherine Pierce a identical to an ancestor, Katherine Pierce 's real name is Katerina Petrova from Europe Bulgaria and she turn Stefan into a vampire.

In this Seasons we know more about Katherine, she was running from Klaus when she met him trough Elijah in episode 19. She was in love with Stefan and she always wanted Stefan. She was running away from Klaus for 500 years, Trevor and Rose helped her, Klaus couldn't find her,so he killed her whole family for betrayal. She born a child but her parents took her away. The Katherine story was awesome and amazing.

Also guest staring in the cast are Taylor Kinney as Mason Lockwood, Tyler's Uncle, a werewolf who comes to town after his brother dies.Michaela McManus as Jules a friend of Mason from Florida a werewolf who comes to town looking for answers about Mason's disappearance and she was helping Tyler after he broke his werewolf's curse and he was turning into a werewolf. Bryton James and Randy J. Goodwin plays son and father both warlocks, Bryton James is Luka Martin and Randy J. Goodwin is Dr.Jonas Martin they both work for Elijah when they tried to get their own daughter/sister back from Klaus. They show in the middle of Season 2 but dies by the end of the second season.Daniel Gillies as Elijah Mikaelson brother of Klaus and the best British actor Joseph Morgan as Niklaus "Klaus" Mikaelson a hybrid and the original he appears in episode 19 Klaus.

This season and episode has romance and great music better than the fourth season is. In second season my favorite best episodes are: Crying Wolf,The Last Day and The Sun Also Rises, they are the best ones.

Damon lies in the bed in his bedroom and hears Elena,Stefan and Elijah talking about Klaus 's ritual that he is planing to break his curse to become a true hybrid, he is planing to make his own bloodline and race. Damon intervenes with he dose not agree with their plans Damon quote: "I'll write her a great eulogy!" says and he want's to use Bonnie to kill Klaus but Elena disagree. She want's to sacrifice her self for Klaus ritual. He burst in his bedroom upset Elena comes after him to talk him out of his sentences. So he grabs Elena and give's her his blood so that she will turn into a vampire so that Klaus couldn't make his ritual. Stefan grabs him and kick's him away. Out of anger the brothers starts fighting each other the first time in season two, last time they were fighting against each other was in the first season. This is the best scene in the episode Damon and Stefan fight Damon totally kick Stefan's ass, he can always kick Stefan.Damon is faster and stronger than Stefan is. This is the second time in second season that Damon hurt Stefan and Elena. In 1st episode Season 2 "The Return" were he kill out of rage and anger Jeremy and Elena burst with tears says she hates Damon.

Carol Lockwood has a terrible accident she fall's down the stairs in her house and hurt her self, thanks to Maddox one of Klaus warlocks this brings back the return of Tyler Lockwood after he left in Episode "Crying Wolf" back to his hometown with Jules in the hospital when they were running from vampires and learning how to control their transformation. In front the hospital Tyler meets Caroline but are captured and drugged by Maddox and Greta Martin.

In the Mystic Grill Liz and Matt are talking about Caroline and Damon about knowing their secrets they are both Vampires and what to do about it. Matt was spying on Caroline pretending he loves her and that he doesn't know anything about her secret.

Stefan and Elena goes on a trip in the woods Stefan take's her with him and they see waterfall and it is so beautiful. I really love and enjoyed this scene between Stelena. They climb on the mountain on the top seeing sunrise goes down. Elena talk's her feelings about not wanting to become a vampire,Stefan cheers her. This is the best scene between Stelana The most memories quot Elena says that i love is : "But he did this to me, Stefan, which means he doesn't really know what love is. And to be honest, I don't know if I do. I'm 17 years old. How am I supposed to know any of this yet?" Most wonderful quotes Elena and Stefan says are in this scene.I love them both to death I love Stelena.

After Damon with Alaric met for the first time Klaus in the Grill bar he went into his apartment with Ric to confront Katherine about where Klaus has hidden his werewolf and he learns that Klaus has a vampire Caroline Forbes and Tyler Lockwood hiding in the tomb. He head's it there on the way. In the woods, in front the tomb he meet's with Maddox,Klaus's warlock and he fights off with him but Maddox is stronger,Matt shots him and he save Damon from Maddox, Damon snaps Maddox's neck hit's Matt with his riffle in the head when he was treating him. Damon save Tyler and Caroline in the tomb from Klaus.

Broke my heart

Superb acting from Nina Dobrev, who has really grown into the character. She is so impressive in this episode: "I'm 17 years old, how am I supposed to know any of this? I was supposed to grow up, decide if I wanted to have kids, grow old, deal with these things as they came along, to have a lifetime of choices, I was supposed to grow up, now, it's all gone." Shattering performance. Bravo.
