Shamy

Amy is certainly about as offensive as can be. At this stage she is one dimensional, a near mirror image of Sheldon. As she gets meat on her bones, she will become a bit more ingratiating. Sheldon "breaks up" with her and resorts to a herd of cats. Mom swoops in. For here crazy religious fundamentalism and xenophobia, she is a great character. They really tamed her down for "Young Sheldon."

"The Zazzy Substitution" is another very worthy ep of "The Big Bang Theory"

Now that Sheldon has Amy for a girlfriend ("Don't call her that!"), Amy's judgemental attitude is annoying all his friends especially Penny after she makes the mistake of calling them Shamy. But the relationship seems over soon when Amy takes a lower opinion of Sheldon's theories than he tolerates of. Still denying his feelings for her were of the romantic kind, he buys a cat for companionship. After that cat becomes a family, Leonard calls his mother for help...Another funny ep of last season's "The Big Bang Theory" with Mayam Bialik fitting in nicely with the gang and what a pleasure to once again see Laurie Metcalf as Sheldon's mom. So on that note, "The Zazzy Substitution" is another worthy episode of "The Big Bang Theory".

The Zazzy Substitution

This s one of those 'Big Bang Theory' episodes where they just turn the whole show over to Jim Parsons as Sheldon and just let him shine.

He's great here, very very funny, though Mayam Bialik reminds us that she's no slouch on the comedic front either, and Amy is proving to be a good addition to the show/cast. I prefer her over Bernadette any day.

The whole 'Shamy' element has given the show something extra, and the fourth series has started well indeed.

It does still feel though like the show is finding its voice, and discovering what it really wants to be, which is interesting for a show that was already pretty good as it was.

not my concern nor my intention, but fans will be offended

How can anyone watch this mind numbing, brain killing silliness?! I put in some time trying to understand... couldn't find a review explaining anything. All so called "reviews" I read here are in fact simple summaries of respective episodes. Honest question, is this show really popular, and if yes, can someone explain? I usually watch up to five minutes whilst multitasking. But I did make the effort of watching two WHOLE episodes, made me feel like doing something else. Anything else really, like cleaning the oven, washing greasy pans, cleaning the garage (which I did, thank you very much TBBT). I figure I watched the wrong episodes? Either that, or we failed in raising the next generation... I see two ways of "defending" the show: by attacking me (unknown person, unknown level of success), or by commenting on the qualities of TBBT. Help yourself to whatever suits you. If you're neither my spouse nor someone who works for me, "stick & stones may brake my bones [...]".
