The heroes play the Talisman board game, but they have too many character cards on a board (five, including two toads, while there are only three players).
No issuing bank would just give someone a new credit card, especially if Penny's credit is as bad as one would figure it is at this time in the series.
Sheldon, when having to pretend he's really going out for a walk, encounters a dog and has to run from it. Eventually he returns to Penny's apartment disheveled and out of breath with one remaining hot dog after giving up the others to get away from said dog. However, when they're later eating, Sheldon looks all cleaned up and his hair is back to normal, and when he mentions his new shoes not made for running (due to aforementioned incident), they both act as if he wasn't running at any point. (Penny asking if he was, and Sheldon saying he wasn't.) This even carries over to when he confessed to Leonard of him seeing Penny behind his back, and when he decides to tell the tale of his encounter with the dog. When Leonard and Penny have their conversation about him in the laundry room, Penny tells him all he knows is that his shoes hurt his feet. No indication of Sheldon's dog encounter or Leonard realizing that two and two go together.
