The Shallow in the Deep

I thought this was a really great episode and the last moments were extremely powerful it brought me to tears . Cam reading the names off the manifest was so touching. I also really enjoyed Sweets and Daisy in this episode and their talk in the diner was really great in my opinion . Very relatable . Excited to continue on with season 6💀

Hit and Miss

As my title indicates, there were parts of this offering that worked and others that didn't. The work on the slave ship's passengers was the good part. Taking on the task of identification was a monumental effort. This is not an historically accurate event. I don't care if such a ship existed or not. Others of its kind did. The emotions expressed by the characters were worth the time. The other part, the search for the murder victim, seemed sort of weak. There was too much time spent on that cougar ship and too much interaction with Booth, Sweets, and Brennan. Maybe now that Daisy and Sweets are getting back together, she can stop showing up at the lab for good. I though Hodgins' part was quite good in this one.

Great episode!

Hi bones booth!

This is one of those episodes I really enjoy. It's cute and has cute moments but also very very sad and heart warming. It does make me tear up at the end every single time and I think the actress who plays cam does an amazing job with this episode. I love Angela giving them al faces and love that the episodes spends some time on this part of the episode.

I love the pink stuff that Hodgins has to figure out Love getting scenes or story line of him and daisey being a good team even tho he can't stand her. Love him wanting to name it after Angela - I stand by the fact that they are better as a pair than separate- I just think they play off each other so well!

Ngl I love a no Hannah episode too lol. I also really enjoy this case in the sense that it did keep you guessing till the end. And the killer always sticks out to me like her acting is actually really good she plays her part well I think.

I also love when they talk about sweets or bones time in foster care and show that side of sweets understanding too.

Overall a good episode as a new watcher I would imagine and a re watch episode!

Sadly bogus

I usually write on the merits of the writing, but the nonsensical false history portrayed in this episode is too much. The "Amalia Rose" is supposed to be a slave ship that sank while transporting African slaves to America "150 years ago". That would be 1860, just before the Civil War. The United States outlawed the slave trade in 1807 (before England's law, but due to constitutional issues, it went into effect slightly after England's law). There were no slave ships shipping Africans in chains in 1860. Furthermore all the carefully catalogued slaves have Christian names, not African names. If somebody wanted a show talking about the evils of slavery, they needed to do better. This kind of nonsense just undermines the theme by turning a serious evil into some kind of imaginary cartoon history.

I love this show and usually accept the scientific explanations voiced by the actors without bothering to see if they are accurate. I hope the science is much more accurate than the history.

By far the worst episode of the show.

Unrealistic

The plot of the slave ship is kind of useless and unrealistic. Given the fact that enslavers would purposely group people from different tribes that had different cultural practices and identifiers and also in some cases shave their heads to further strip them of their identities it is highly unlikely that the slave ships would have actually cared about their names if the enslaved were regarded as chattel and not human. As well the names they assigned to them are highly American and would have likely been forced onto as a additional dehumanization tactic after they were sold in America. Also if their remains were found on the ship that means it would have been impossible for them to be renamed.

every 6th season episode

Same old complaint ... ms lin, now a producer is forming this show into her idea..booth and brennan are handled by compartmentalization until she can figure out how to deal with them ... lots of stalls and interjections while her story works itself out ... i dislike that booth drives a toyota suv as an fbi agent ... it would be more appropriate that he drove the standard american general motors suburban or tahoe ... jack and angela are doing wonderful while booth and brennan are in failure mode ... the children lance and daisy are free spirits still .... brennan still treats sex as a biological need... strange indeed for the alleged scholar she poses
