Vincet's final shock
stephen-matthews12306 October 2020
What can I say, the story was really well written and the acting superb. It had me bawling my eyes out. Anyone who gives this less than a 9 is totally heartless or emotionless. This episode shows different sides of loss

BRB CRYING MY EYES OUT
briezey5 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
No matter how many times I see this episode it never fails to make me cry my eyes out multiple times throughout the 44 minutes.

Vincent's death is such a terrible shock, but one thing I appreciate about the writing here is that his death comes relatively early in the episode. This gives the team (and the audience) time to process the death, rather than having the death right at the end of the episode leaving us all feeling shocked and unable to process the death.

I thought Broadsky was a decent serial killer for season 6. I liked that he was basically Booth if Booth had a messed up code of ethics. I also love the scene of Booth tracking Broadsky in the shipping yard. I think the phone conversation between Booth, Bones and Hodgins here is so cool.

We also see Bones and Booth together!!!! The audience has waiting SIX FULL SEASONS for this to finally happen and it is perfect.

If I could give this an 11 out of 10 I would.

Best Part: Hodgins face when Angela tells him to leave the bone room after Bones said she was with Booth

Worst Part: Vincent saying "don't make me leave," god my heart shatters into a million pieces every time I watch that.

So Moving
Hitchcoc14 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The line was crossed when Vincent was killed. It wasn't collateral damage. It was shooting the wrong guy! From then on Booth had every right to get rid of him. This guy, with delusions of grandeur, felt he was the salvation of society. When he set up all of Booth's friends to be killed eventually, we see his psychotic side. Of course, killing that young guy because he wouldn't hand over his rifle already proved that. He was psychotic. But the strength of the story is the reaction of all the characters when Vincent is murdered. He was a cool character and will be missed. When the pain became too much, Brennan and Booth had their moment. The episode, as the title said i its double entendre, does leave a hole in our hearts.

Great episode but...

Warning: Spoilers
So I'm a huge fan of Bones (have loved David Boreanaz since Angel) and David and Emily's chemistry is amazing onscreen, you can also tell in interviews they truly enjoy each other.

This episode is a pivotal point in Booth and Brennan's relationship, I did however, find that I was slightly disappointed with this episode - a full 6 seasons of 'will they won't they', and we don't really get to experience the moment we had all been waiting for, I appreciate the writers may have felt that they had to be sensitive to atmosphere of the episode, however I just felt it was slightly anticlimactic. That being said, the death scene with Vincent Nigel Murray was heart breaking and the ship yard scene was excellent. I personally think this should have been the finale.

Damned Google Algorithm

Warning: Spoilers
I'm only mad that my Google algorithm only turned me on to TheBonesBooth just a few weeks ago. Yet so so so happy/sad that I was just in time to watch ahead & still cannot hear "Da'Lime&Da'Coconut" without tearing up. This one & the next 2 - I think - take me directly back to viewing 6-7 hours of Bones every day on TNT & falling in love with Booth & oddly relating to Bones - in intelligence & oh so many of her spectrum traits - it is indeed a blessing to be seen so gifted - the curse comes in taking damned near 7 years & an outright tragedy to learn how to correctly love another person and try to build a semi-functional relationship with them. The struggle is real y'all.

Farewell
lor_4 July 2023
A likable episode of "Bones" in fact a fan favorite, impressed me with the juggling of plenty of material - the case at hand, team camaraderie plus some very emotional content.

The exciting climax is very well-done, and the acting by the ensemble is solid usual. But the coda of tons of bonding within the team is way overdone and registers awfully high on the sentimentality meter. Whoever thought it was cool to have everyone singing Harry Nilsson's pop hit "Coconut" over the deceased's casket canceled out a lot of the good will whipped up prior to this. Perhaps "Singing Nilsson over a casket" could replace "Jump the Shark" as a derogatory cliche criticizing a tv faux pas.

The moment everyone was waiting for!

What an episode! So much happens, both in terms of case and also personal B plot stuff!

Boones becomes an official thing! This is just such a good episode, and so emotional as well.

Also, a question for The Bones Booth (everyone's favourite Bones podcast).

I'm listening to your season 2 recap now (that will have been so long ago by the tike you get here) And I have a question for you guys, more specifically Andrew and Aqeel.

Throughout your podcast, Maggie and Taryan reference this episode a few times. So, Andrew and Aqeel, I wondered what did you think they were talking about/referencing in this episode? Did you think this would be the pivotal Boones moment of the show? I'm guessing you have some thoughts about it before we get the reveal.

I'd love to know what you think, although I'll have probably forgoten about this by the time you get to the episode on the podcast 😂.

Thank you for reignighting my love of Bones through your podcast :)
