Chupacabras, Yetis, Psychics, Oh My!

Warning: Spoilers
This was a fun, light-hearted episode (not as fun as man in the bear, but a close second).

We start the episode with a couple that stumbles on a dead body that is covered in butterflies. When the team arrives, Hodgins talks about how butterflies aren't so innocent and that they will eat decomposing meat. From my quick google search, I didn't see anything about butterflies eating meat, but hey Hodgins is the entomologist, not me.

The whole episode is centered around myth busting, specifically Chupacabras. I thought this was a fun episode because we got to see the team divided between people who believed in the Chupacabra (Hodgins, Vincent, Booth) and those who didn't (Cam, Bones).

In a fun little conversation between Hodgins and Angela about believing in Chupacabras versus believing in astrology, we learn that Hodgins is a Virgo aka born between August 23 and September 22 -- hey Bones Booth Podcast, in one of your podcast episodes in season 2 you all were trying to guess star signs of the team, we finally have some proof about which star sign Hodgins is!!

Best part: Booth telling the lodge owner that hands "are the things at the end of your arms"

Worst part: Booth not appreciating Bones' joke about how the pigeons would testify for the psychic.

If I Could Talk to the Animals

This is a show about the death of a man who we might call a "Mythbuster." He has a show where he embarrasses people who believe in things that are far fetched: like beasts that have never been seen. His methods are simple. Put up a video camera and hang out through the night and prove how ridiculous things are. The bad thing for him is that he ticked off a lot of people with his show. One was a guy who lost his show. But it was more than that. There was a trickle down effect at work. I once again find Booth's actions rather coarse and sort of stupid. I don't think he convinced Brennan of anything. He made a claim and she checked it out. She hurt the big boy's feelings by doubting him.

Love "The Truth in the Myth"!

I absolutely love this episode, "The Truth in the Myth." The episode is different from other episodes and Bones and has more of a comedic element to it, which can probably be explained by the fact John Francis Daley (Sweets) wrote this episode, which is another reason that I love it!
