Dude, we're getting the band back together!

Hey, Bones Booth pod!

I'm so excited you guys are finally at season 6! I can't wait to hear your reactions to what's to come this season! (And beyond) This episode is a comfort watch for me and was there during a very difficult time in my life.

The idea of everyone being spread out around the world and then coming back to help when one of them needs it the most is my favorite thing. They really are a family and care so much for each other.

The stuff between B&B when they see each other for the first time again is so sweet! And the scene at the diner between Brennan and Angela lives rent free in my head. Angela's nervous-excited energy and the look on Brennan's face when the realization hits her is so great!

The Hodgela story line this season is one of my favorite of theirs and it just showcases TJ and Michaela's acting abilities. Just wait until we get to Blackout in the Blizzard (if you know, you know ;))

And it *literally* took me until about a month ago to really understand the meaning of the episode title (yes, Maggie: you can laugh at that)

Avengers Assemble!

Welcome to season 6 Bones Booth!

The reunion episode!

I love how the episode starts by showing clips of where everyone is, it feels like the reunion of a superhero group. Coming together from all corners of the world, just trying to be...normal? As normal as they can be for superheroes. Bones the Forensic Anthropologist already sounds like a superhero name to me.

The way Caroline gets Sweets back, I die EVERY time.

I dont think it is fair for Cam to blame the Jeffersonian falliny apart all on Bones though, she has every right to do something she wants to do with her career. Take a break from all the death. That part always bothered me.

Caroline and Booths relationship is gold. Anytime they are paired together I love it. Or maybe I just love Caroline in all scenes and we get so much of her in this one!

The linchpin concept is great, but its gotta be Bones, right? It's adorable how everyone kinda thinks its them though. I'm curious who you guys would consider the linchpin of The Bones Booth.

I am glad there was a happy ending where the kid was alive this episode. I think Bones needed a happier win on her first case back.

Overall, great episode to start the season.

Nicely Done

There needed to be a way of getting the gang back together. We are given a view of what each is doing since leaving and a task of getting Cam out of the crosshairs of the politicians. There is a pivotal case which is being used against her and she is forced to work on it all by herself (with some occasional incompetent help). It is totally contrived but each principle needs to look at his or her life and weigh it against what they are doing. The reasons are quite diverse and work. The strained romance is still there for Brennan and Booth, so we have not been given anything in that department. I look forward to them looking forward.

Ready for season 6!

Hi Bones Booth pod!

This is my first time leaving a review for an episode but I've finally caught up on the podcast eps to do it!

Anyway jumping into the ep! I absolutely love that we get to see where the gang are during their time away and how each of them are going. Brennan talking about how she's only scared of snakes when Booth is around to be jumped on is pure gold!

Caroline calling everyone back, and then actually coming, is very telling on how far her relationship with the team has come!

The reunion between B&B is wonderful but also a little heartbreaking to see Brennan's face when Booth tells her he met someone. I always get this impression she wants to tell him how much she missed him and thought about them being together whilst she was away (or maybe I've read one too many fan fictions that have that happen 😂)

Anyway the case is a tough one, as all cases with young kids are, but it's nice the team are able to solve it and ultimately decide to come back and stay in DC and get the band back together again!

Bones' excitement over the Hodgela baby is great and overall this is a good ep to kick off season 6! As with basically every Bones ep I give this a 10/10!

I look forward to hearing what you guys think and for your thoughts on the season ahead! Bring on season 6!

Hi bones booth!

The case itself was actually better this week vs past few.

I love the whole entire linchpin concept and how they all think it's them - I do personally think it's bones more than Caroline but I love her in this episode so much!!!!!!!(love when bones goes to hug her) Also love our classic b&b car scene discussing if the teams back!

Also love when booth references "take him down like a flea" at the end and bones has the cutest smallest reaction to him using the right reference! And also yayyyyy who doesn't love a pregnancy. Also "we've worked around bigger" love that last scene!

Buckle up, it's going to be a rollercoaster ride.

Warning: Spoilers
Hi, Bones Booth podcast. English Jan here.

What a rollercoaster ride of emotions this episode is.

Bones opening line of, "I find it interesting that I'm only afraid of snakes when Booth is around to be jumped upon", is telling in so many different ways. I love this return to Kickass Bones, which is more reminiscent of the Bones of the first season. She deals with the tribespeople quickly, with zero help from Daisy!

Ah, the wonderful Caroline Julian, enough said. Rallying all the troops to help Cam in her hour of need. The true linchpin of the whole operation.

Booth is in an early peak of his SEAL Team gear. He looks a little hot, sorry, I mean warm in all that uniform.

I love that Bones and Booth still keep their promise to one another and meet by the fountain, despite the change of circumstances.

The scene between Bones and Cam where Cam is telling Bones off for leaving is handled very well. The look of shock on Bones' face is excellent. I also like that the Jeffersonian team start to slip back into doing what they do best, despite the terrible surroundings and lack of equipment.

Talking about magical Angela-based evidence. "The stitching on this garment suggests that it has been made from a larger item?" Really? I find that hard to believe.

Sweets facial hair, I'm not a fan, but it's a look.

Sadly Daisy s still annoying. Thankfully she is not the intern of the week. Wendle Bray is.

I love the scene in the Dinner with Bones and Angela when Angela tells Bones that she is pregnant. It's such a touching scene.

Another great scene is the car scene with Booth and Bones talking about who is or is not the linchpin. Booth gives Bones a long list of jobs the linchpin has to do.

The heartbreaking scene is where Bones and Booth talk to the dead child's Korean Mother and grandfather. Great acting from all involved in that scene.

An interesting trio at the bar, Cam, Bones and Booth, discuss how they only solve crimes after the fact. Booth is still thinking about the missing Logan Bartlet. He discovered that Mr Bartlet bought a new car a few days after his son went missing.

I have to say that I am surprised that Carrie Barlett stays inside Booth's car for as long as she does, having seen her missing son through the window. Some great acting from the lady who plays Mrs Bartlett when she is finally reunited with her missing son.

I also love the baby-stuck Hodgins scene in the Dinner with Angela, confirming that they will stay in the states to have and raise their child. Fabulously acted by TJ Thyme.

But that cute scene is pipped at the post as the best scene by the next one, between the marvellous Caroline, Bones and Booth at the Founding Fathers. The whole Scooby gang is back together. Booth insists that he is the linchpin due in part to the fact that he is the only normal person who can wrangle (keep control of) the squints.

On the other hand, Bones believes correctly that Caroline is the linchpin. Bones wants to hug Caroline! Oh my goodness! Slightly out of character.

Finally, Cam gets around to thanking everyone for coming back to rescue her from the mess of her own making. Better late than never, Cam. She switches on the lights of the Jeffersonian to find a Wooly Mathoth in the space where the forensic platform used to be. Queue smiles and laughter from all those present.

As in every Bones episode, the end scene between Bones and Booth steals the show. We have worked around bigger things. No truer words have been spoken.

Another contrived bit of garbage in what is normally a great show.
williamkwood-9544430 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
They had to call back Booth from a deployment, something that doesn't happen. At the end of the last season he said he had to sneak off base to see Brennan off at the airport but now he can just end his enlistment partway through a deployment.

Cam flies off the handle at Brennan despite Brennan leaving the anthropological dig of a lifetime to save Cam's job. Cam blames her for everything falling apart despite the fact that Cam is the boss and Brennan did not exactly leave on a whim.

That said, Brennan and Daisy seem to be the only people on the anthropology team so maybe it was a an elaborate hoax to leave the Jeffersonian.

Speaking of the Jeffersonian it seems to have been written out of the show too. The "federal coroner" is stationed in a dank morgue. This makes me wonder what job they are even saving for Cam.
