R2 to the Rescue
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic6 August 2020
A fun episode.

This follows on from the previous episode with young Boba Fett trying to gain his revenge on Mace Windu. It is good to see Fett's past fleshed out a bit and he is a well created character here.

We also see how he is a sidekick for a badass bounty hunter Aurra Sing who we end up hearing about in the Solo movie. In addition we get Bossk in a speaking role. Great to see more of Bossk who has a brilliant design. Bossk's voice is not as impressive as the animation (it got much improved in later episodes he features in) but is not bad.

R2 has some amusing scenes and is called upon to save the day which is enjoyable.

My rating: 8/10.

Good episode but there's one big problem

Warning: Spoilers
Good episode but I think they over looked a very big detail with using THE helmet boba and his dad wears in the live actions to be the bomb other than that pretty good.

R2 Come Home
lassegalsgaard22 February 2021
Okay, so this episode was not as engaging as I remember it being. To be fair, I have not seen it since I was much younger, so the idea of an R2-D2/"Home Alone"-hybrid episode was fun to me, but it did not get as much amusement out of me this time. Not that it was a bad episode; I enjoyed it very much, but I did not see all the necessary glue to make it an important chapter of this story arc. I do love R2 and am happy to see him get a central part like this, but it could have been a done a little better. I was still excited to see the bounty hunters featured heavily in the episode, and the characteristics of Boba Fett are coming together nicely, making me even more excited and ready to revisit the final chapter.

Loved it

I love how much emotion comes from droids, more so I love how much Ani cares about his droid, most of all I love how they get into Boba as a child. I read some of the other reviews and I believe some were really harsh on this episode and what it stood for. It involved trust, and it made the very op Jedi become not op. Also I loved the little quips from R2-D2. Overall my second favourite episode so far.

Lame Title, Solid Episode
ttapola12 June 2010
C'mon, "R2 Come Home"? Really? Why didn't they just call this "R2 Phone Home"? There's nothing wrong with referencing famous movies and TV shows, but one should not just pick the first lame play on words that comes to mind - previous efforts have been better. That little complaint aside, The Clone Wars seems to be finally finding its feet. We have seen welcome format breakers instead of every episode being about a battle and/or a rescue. (Although this episode *does* center around not one but two rescue missions - yawn.) With the more than welcome return of a familiar face in the previous episode, we also have some *actual* continuity instead of pointless stand-alone episodes. Finally we who are children of the Original Trilogy can watch the "new" Star Wars without feeling embarrassed to admit it.

Since this is a second part of yet another (yet *not* annoying!) two-parter, it's nice to see it conclude the story solidly while laying seeds for future stories. While the series is clearly pandering to the fans of the Original Trilogy by featuring yet another familiar face, it's done in a way that feels right. And let's be honest, the less screen-time Anakin and his annoying padawan have, the better. That Character Who Had a Pointless Cameo Appearance in Episode I features heavily, but fails to impress. Also, didn't we see enough of R2's "comedic" action scenes in Episode II? They are not as funny as the writers and animators think. I wonder when they explain who removed R2's rocket engines, since they are not seen in the Original Trilogy. Actually, I don't. The Prequels and this Clone Wars series (Tartakovsky's was *so* much better) have given us several contradictions nobody at Lucasfilm seems to bother to address.

Anyway, this is still a solid episode, even if it does not achieve greatness. But it shows that this series actually may have a future worth waiting for. My vote is 7/10.

Filoni Get The Frack Outta Here

Warning: Spoilers
I know it's just a "kids show," but this is one of those episodes that really pissed me off! Two of the most powerful Jedi in the Order get pinned down under fallen bulk heads, on the bridge of their crashed cruiser, and neither of them can use the force to lift the debris off? Then at the end, two normal Clone Troopers jump aboard and lift the debris without any issues? WTF?!? C'mon maaaaaan. This is nothin' but a waste of a filler episode.

Plot holes bigger than the ones in the crashed space ship
bcrawford196731 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Awful episode. We have to sit through more of the painful adventures of child Boba Fett who agonizes over the fate of his captives. Hello! This is Boba Fett! He doesn't angst about morals, he gets the job done and he gets paid. And he was never a child, LOL. You might as well write a story about Judge Dredd in kindergarten.

Even worse though is the obvious stupidity of most of the characters in this episode. Needing to find what they are looking for on the towering bridge of the crashed cruiser, both the Jedi and bounty hunters spend time dangerously climbing through the ravaged and burning guts of the ship.

Um, why?! You all have ships that can fly and hover - just FLY up to the bridge and look through the windows. Which is actually what the rescue team does in the last five minutes of the show. Lame writing which openly emphasizes lack of intelligence in order to facilitate drama.

Don't feel like you need to watch this unless you are suffering OCD when it comes to watching all things Star Wars.
