During a party at the house of the powerful Alexander Harrington to celebrate the election of his son Xander Harrington as the new CEO of the family media corporation, he is stabbed in the neck and dies. The CBI team is assigned to investigate the case and soon they find that a classified file with the list of people that would be fired in the newspaper has been robbed. Soon Patrick Jane finds blood on the shoes of the journalist Heather Evan and learns that she robbed the file. However, she has not killed Xander and his brother Ed becomes another suspect. They also find that the newspaper was investigating a cult named Visualise, owned by a man called Bret Stiles. They proceed their investigation and soon Alexander Harrington is threatened by a bomb at home. Who might be the killer?
"Red All Over" is an episode of "The Mentalist" where Patrick Jane finds a powerful opponent. The manipulation of Patrick in the end to find the unsuspected killer is great and for an unexpected motive. My vote is seven.

However, I have noticed just how one dimensional Robin Tunney is: her acting consists of either nodding or shaking her head to convey emotions.... Everything she does, says, acts, involves a nodding or shaking of the head! Also, the amount of unprofessional behaviour that Jane gets away with is just not credible or believable. He's a quirky character, and "he closes cases", but come on! No professional organisation, and certainly not a law enforcement organisation like the CBI would ever sanction the behaviour he gets up to! Still, I guess that's all part of what makes it such an enjoyable and entertaining show!
