I was under the impression that ABC Family had gone downhill as soon as the Gilmore Girls were off the air, but this show has changed my mind! The show focuses on many alarming issues, but through charming repartee gives the viewer a chance to laugh while learning about the real life problems facing many of America's teens today.
The show can be viewed by the younger audience as sheer entertainment, while the older generations can use it as a window to steal a glimpse into the world of their children; of course they may not always like what they see.
Honestly, some scenes lose focus (as teenagers tend to do) while some characters become intolerable at times (again, as teenagers tend to become) with the exception of Stowell (Jesse) who is just fantastic! Obviously his experiences in a suburban high school surrounded by an assortment of zany characters prepared him well for his role as one. Stowell, as well as the rest of the cast, is truly a credit to the genre.
