- Ella discovers that someone is embezzling money from WPK and framing her for it. Panicked that she could go to jail, Ella secretly investigates and starts by talking with Jo Reynolds, who realizes Amanda is up to her old tricks again to destroy her career. Meanwhile, Jonah decides to throw a party in the Melrose courtyard to celebrate his newfound success over landing a directing job, as well as to further flaunt his success to Riley. Elsewhere, Jane shows up to confront Amanda for not firing Ella and it's finally revealed that the vindictive and psychotic Jane is the one who orchestrated Amanda's return and set up everything behind the scenes all for the sole purpose to destroy Ella's career, while Jane also has a run-in with her equally psychotic and merciless ex-husband Michael. Elsewhere, Lauren is shocked after Michael threatens to reveal her secret of being a call-girl if she doesn't have sex with him, which leads to her making a hard decision to do so and be unfaithful to David, since Lauren (like everyone else in the series) feels that her job and career come first. Also, Riley and Drew share a nice and casual first date.—matt-282

- Jonah is stoked to be preparing for the big bash celebrating his Hollywood deal selling his script for "Living in Reverse" so spare no expenses! and also show off mercilessly to Riley... Ella is amused by them turning the place into Club Melrose, but warns him re commissions and taxes on that cheque. David wants to know from her if Lauren has broken her silence yet, but no, no clue as to why she had broken off the relationship. Perhaps tonight, with the drinks flowing, tongues will be loosening...
To the tune of Shakira's hot hit "She-Wolf", Lauren drops in on Riley, who is 'hard at work on her fund-raising thing' and still kinda bummed re the whole Jonah-jumping-into-Ella's-arms thing and of course Lauren has a thing too still inwardly weeping over the loss of David. A girl's day out is suggested, but Lauren's chronically ringing cellphone gets in the way again. It really is matters medical this time, but since it's her blackmailer nasty ol' Michael calling, perhaps not...? Drew returns some hot pink underwear of Riley's that got mixed up with his. Riley is embarrassed and claims they were a gift from her Grandma. Yeah, Grandma frequents Frederick's of Hollywood... Since the planned girl's day is on the rocks, Drew suggests Riley should come gift-shopping for toys with him. For his rugrats. She is nonplussed. The kids in his pediatric ward. She'd better come along to make sure he doesn't buy toys with lead in them. Lauren signals her to go along. It's a date.
Ella receives a phone call from an irate Jasper Barnes. He claims to have been overbilled some $5 000, but Ella reckons that's not likely, and will look into it. Checking up on her computer, she is surprised to find that to be the case. Reporting to Amanda, who is looking in on her, Ella points this out, but Amanda already knows about the billing mistake originating from Ella's department. Ella assures her that it is just some mistake she'd clear up. "Good! Because if anybody tries to steal from WPK's cookie jar, they'd be walking out of here with a pink slip... Wearing handcuffs!"
Jane Andrews-Mancini (second outing this time round for well-preserved Josie Bissett) pops in for a visit with a cold Amanda to remind her that they had a deal - Amanda could be first in line to rent the penthouse as long as she fires Ella, Jane's payback for having had the rug pulled out under her return to the fashion world (way back in Vine (2009)), so now we know.
Michael now wants to have his go at Lauren for the paid-for aborted encounter two weeks ago (Stoner Canyon (2010)) and holds her to the unholy deal by once again threatening to expose her stint as a prostitute. Lauren is dismayed. He tells her with a smirk to be prepared to spend the night. (The man is an animal!)
At a Mexican street fair, Drew and Riley are shopping for toys. He inquires from her re Lauren, but just out of curiosity, mind, he doesn't think that having a relationship with a fellow tenant and co-worker would be such a good idea. He refers to her as Teflon-coated,and only has eyes for Riley. Drew shows that he is kind, generous, and good with children, and totally wins Riley's approval.
"Somebody in this building knows where that painting is." Amanda is still fervently trying to track down her $19 million quest. She just has to figure out how to get them all in a cooperative mood.
On a closed set for W, Ella locates Jo Reynolds, another Melrose Place (1992) alumni. The models wear outlandish haute couture. "Will you look at that! You're actually letting the models keep their clothes on! How sweet!" Ella exclaims. Pumping the no-nonsense woman for information, Ella points out that she must have had some agent to have secured that hefty $200 000 commission, so she must be in the class of Annie Leibowitz, but Jo just stares grimly at her with those watery-blue eyes. She only got a check for $20 000. "Your name was on it. You're my account rep, you should know," the tough old bird points out. Ella hears the far-off rumble of a gathering storm...
Morgan McKellan (blonde hot snickering fox Melissa Ordway) has designs on David. We don't know their exact nature yet, but they're obviously kinda devilish. As David prepares for Coal to cater for Jonah's blowout, she brings the former burglar a watch, worth $5 000, which she herself stole from her Dad (Joe Lando), just for the heck of it. Clearly, she is setting him up, but he wants nothing to do with it. She is damn, damn sexy, though, and David takes the watch from her after all. Surely nasty trouble is brewing, and David will be in over his head. Morgan has a father with a.bad reputation, and he gives David a warning glance.
Jonah is overseeing the overhead structure for the spotlights being positioned, and the DJ is taking a trial run. Be is testing out cocktails, and Ella appears, and he offers her a martini, which she slurps down with gusto, having taken the evening off. She starts confiding in him. She suspects she is being set up. He thinks his many tales of conspiracy theories have sunk in with her. "There are financial discrepancies all over my client list," but he is kinda in his own world and getting slightly tipsy, and doesn't pay attention. Lauren arrives, she has that 'date' with Michael that she is not looking forward to, rather settling on staying for the party, damned be Michael! David pitches up with the Coal team, they brought yellowtail, which is not something Ella is up to now....
Michael calls. "I'm heading over to the Waverley, I'll expect you there in an hour." He reminds Lauren to wear that same sexy dress she wore that evening when she came to the hotel (towards the final scenes of Stoner Canyon (2010)) and Lauren feels really nauseated.
Drew and Riley are having dinner, and Drew is asking pointed questions re her relationship with Jonah. After all, "in the game that is called life,Jonah has rolled the dice, and moved on." Riley responds, "I guess it all depends on what I am playing for."
Treasure-hunter Amanda is bribing the bar to spike the drink supply, everything should be triple. Secrets are bound to come out.
The party hots up. Jonah is kinda full of himself, telling Riley how he is giving something back now that he has scored it big, but is bummed to hear of the date she went on with Drew, who bought gifts for many children, you know, she points out, giving something back...
David tells Lauren that he knows she dumped him because he wasn't good enough for her. Grew up in a trailer park, and has a rap sheet. She assures him that is not the case. Then what? He wants to be told what he did wrong so that he could fix it. But she heavy-heartedly tells him that the fault doesn't lie with him, but with her, there is stuff about her he just doesn't know...
Michael arrives at the party, looking for Lauren. She breaks off from David and approaches the doctor dejectedly.
Amanda is surprised to see Michael there, surely he didn't read about the event on Twitter? No, his quick excuse is that he is there to check up on his patient, Amanda, but she assures him that she is fine.
Landlord Jane makes an apperance, and Amanda figures she is there to complain about the noise. She is surprised to meet up with Doctor Michael again after all these years. After that career breakthrough he had, the heart valve invention, maybe their divorce was a mistake? Michael takes it as a compliment.
Amanda fishes for information unabatedly, and tells Ella about a fingerpaint work Sydney was doing for her, a work that she just cannot find. Ella just knew Sydney as a heavy drinker, and is surprised to find out about an artistic side. She tells Amanda to ask David. Having no more use for Ella, Amanda inquires re the Jasper Barnes account, and Ella comes forward with her suspicion that there is an embezzler at large at WPK. Amanda thanks her for bringing this to her attention.
Jonah and Drew vent their passive aggression by playing beer pong. Jonah wins, embracing a less than enthusiastic Ella in his tipsy beer-pong-breath state.
David knocks on Lauren's door. The two starstruck lovers stand on either side of the door, Lauren pretending that she is not there. Morgan whisks him away.
Travis, Jonah's buddy, needs a bottle opener. Jonah ducks into his old haunt to go fetch. He finds Riley and Drew smooching. Total bummer for him, he did not expect of her to go to a convent, but it's all so abrupt, as he confides to Ella, who kids 'Miller the Killer' about his own lack of subtlety. Jo Reynolds appears at the party, and Ella exclaims "Did somebody complain this party wasn't bossy and overbearing enough?"
Morgan is admiring a large mural of David. Stole that too? No, brought it from a gallery*, he collects. "Most of the boys I know, collect video games," she responds. She scoffs at David's claim that he is through with his life of crime, and believe him to be an adrenaline junkie getting his highs from his burglaries. She also gets a rush from stealing, so they are just perfect for each other, she thinks. He says she should please get this notion that they could be Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) out of her head. Morgan has her devious mind set on David, and cones in close. They are interrupted by a bemused Amanda. That's all right, David explains. Morgan was just leaving, anyway. Amanda snickers that the girls really do go for the bad boy, and wants to know about his latests art thefts. David hotly denies - he is a restaurant owner, after all. But Amanda suspects where the money came from. "Rumor has it that you stole the paintings Sydney sold overseas." David doesn't know about the painting she is looking for. Sydney was big pals with Auggie, the cook that used to live there, and David steers Amanda in that direction. Jo Reynolds comes up, "Isn't this nice, a little mini reunion in the courtyard," Amanda goes. "Let's do this again in ten years." Since she is so sarcastic, Jo comes right out telling her she has heard that Amanda is up to her old tricks again, embezzling like she did at D&D Advertising (back in the Melrose Place (1992) days) and now no-nonsense Jo wants that money owed to her made out to the World Hunger Project. Ella overheard the taunt, and it all becomes clear to her.
(* obviously, Sydney's gallery. So, obviously, what have we here? Amanda's $19 million quest, the missing painting!)
Drew and Jonah finally start squaring off. Drew comments about having considered a trip to Home Depot to buy a deadbolt. Jonah is irked, obviously Dr. McChuckles is chatting up all the Melrose Place female residents. They take their grievance into the pool, drunkenly fighting. Over Riley. Wet splashes.
Dr. Mancini calls Lauren. Actually, he's standing just outside her door. Sleep with me, or I tell your friends! His blackmail scheme folds as she decides to rid herself of this sex pest by coming clean to all her friends there and then re her sordid recent past. Tearful confession about her financial problems and loss of college funds and foray into prostitution. Michael looks on taken aback as she takes away the hold he had over her. David turns ashen, and leaves a forlorn Lauren behind.
Waking up in a bad state the next morning, Jonah isn't sure if it had been a dream. Did he actually hear Lauren confessing she was a hooker? "It's not a dream, it's a nightmare," a disheveled Ella groans next to him, sprawled out ingloriously.. Nice legs, even if quite inelegant now on this hung-over morning. She had far-off 'thuspithions' (slurring) re Lauren anyway, but never mind now, Jonah reeks of 1 part chlorine, 2 parts tequila. Jonah is ashamed to remember that he tackled Drew into the pool. Ella looks kinda washed out. "Normally, I find a brawl between two red-blooded boys kinda hot, but when it's over your ex-fiancée, not so much." She finds the day a daunting prospect.. The best is yet to come. Phone call. "Oh God, I gotta grab my alcohol poisoning by the horns," she slurs. "I'm being summoned to Amanda's office...on a Saturday morning!" Perhaps she's aware that you are on to her, Jonah muses, but Ella reckons she'd have been snuffed out long since...
Lauren and David have a painful meeting. David is shocked, it all figures now, the hordes of phone calls, that guy Rick, everything, but worst of all, she was so fluent at lying, that throws him the most. She says it tore her apart, but he has a hard time accepting her. What made it so all the more difficult for her, she tearfully confides, is that she really loves him. But he just sits there aghast.
Riley phones Lauren, leaving her best friend a message of support.
Jonah is reduced to being the janitor picking up on the aftermath of his big blowout. And he gets chewed out by Riley to boot. "You and Ella have been nesting like lovebirds in this courtyard."
At the hospital, Drew sneaks into the mortuary, takes the sheet of a corpse, and taking out his scalpel, cuts into a corpse. So his vampire analogy isn't that far off from the truth?
Eight o'clock. Ella goes to see Amanda, in awe of her being so hard at work this early on a Saturday morning. She is snidely informed she can't charm herself out of this one. She has been audited, clearly she has embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars. Ella lashes out at her about what she overheard, but Amanda treats her like she's on a pathetic drunken rant. Ella is aghast. "I looked up to you. You weren't just my boss. You were the prototype of everything I wanted in my career. But you're nothing but a thief." Amanda smirks, and reckons Ella hasn't got the curves to look good in an orange prison jumpsuit. P
