Ordinarily, I'm not in favor of endless war. But in the case of LucasFilm planning endless Star Wars...that's a policy I can get behind.
Look, it should come as no surprise that the gargantuan success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens- both financially and critically- has LucasFilm thinking about more, more, more. But is that a bad thing? I know that, for many, the initial inclination is to roll your eyes and say "They're going to milk this cash cow until it's dead," and I get that. But in the specific case of Star Wars, I think that view is a bit myopic. Why? Because look at the world that George Lucas created. Similar to DC, and similar to Marvel, it's a universe that expands as far as the eye can see. There are limitless storytelling possibilities.
Unlike endless sequels to something that is basically a one-trick pony...

The sound design crafted by Ben Burtt and his team for the Star Wars saga is just as iconic and evocative as John Williams' soaring fanfare. Burtt's work — spanning from 1977's A New Hope on through 2015's multi-billion dollar smash The Force Awakens — is as instantly recognizable as the "Star Wars Theme": the live wire hum and crackle of light sabers, the foreboding exhales of Darth Vader, the boisterous din of the Mos Eisley Cantina, the emotive growl of Chewbacca, the chirrups of droids like R2D2 and...

One Thing I Love Today is a daily column dedicated to putting a spotlight on some pop culture item worth your attention. After all, there's enough snark out there. Why not start every day with one quick shotgun blast of positivity? I don't own much in the way of Edm. It's just not my scene. I'm sure you look at me and think, "That's a guy who likes to really lay it down on the dance floor as just one small part of his aggressively physical lifestyle," but somehow, Edm just isn't on my radar. I buy new music often, but really wouldn't play this sort of thing typically while working or driving. So, yes, Hollywood Records and American Recordings, your fiendish plan worked. I picked up a new Edm compilation album executive produced by Rick Rubin entirely because of the thing that unites all of the tracks: Star Wars.

Have you ever wanted a compilation of original music that blends your childhood affinity for all things Star Wars with your likely more recent appreciation for electronic music? Rick Rubin thought you might, which is why the decade-spanning pop culture mastermind has enlisted some of the world’s most renowned producers to deliver tracks for Star Wars Headspace.
Kaskade, Flying Lotus, A-Trak and Baauer are but a few of the names behind tracks which will appear on the album. Each production features samples and clips from the iconic sound effects of sound designer Ben Burtt, making for songs which reference the Star Wars film franchise’s many peculiar tropes.
Perhaps most surprising from a musical standpoint is Rubin’s own contribution to the compilation. Where the producer is best known for his iconic mixes of albums for legendary acts like The Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Beastie Boys, “Nr-G...

Let's start by congratulating ourselves : big claps to The Force Awakens for making all that money. I’m not going to be able to say it more concisely than the official press release:
Today, in its 50th day of release, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is expected to cross the $900 million mark at the domestic box office. It is the only film in history to reach this milestone.
In addition, on Saturday (53rd day of global release), Star Wars: The Force Awakens is expected to reach the $2 billion mark worldwide, becoming only the third film ever to do so and just the second to do it in original release.

Thanks to the mostly-positive reaction to The Force Awakens, anticipation is building in earnest for the next cinematic Lucasfilm release, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It’ll reach cinemas remarkably soon, on 16th December this year, yet very little has been revealed about what the spin-off-prequel will actually look like.
It’s known that the movie will focus on the Rebel plot to steal the plans to the first Death Star, teeing up the events of George Lucas’ original 1977 Star Wars movie (the one that is now dubbed A New Hope). Beyond that, nobody knows much about what Gareth Edwards, Felicity Jones and their cohorts are plotting. It’s a mysterious movie, by all accounts.
So, while everyone patiently waits for a Rogue One trailer (or even just a few more images), here are the ten biggest questions that need answering about the movie…

Despite not actually doing a whole lot in the movies, Boba Fett is generally considered to be one of the most popular supporting characters (if you could even call him that) in the entire Star Wars saga. Because of this there are plans to reintroduce Fett in Disney and Lucasfilm’s new batch of films, and a standalone origin story for the badass Bounty Hunter is apparently on the cards – but could we see him make his return to the galaxy far, far away as early as this year’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story?
The photo above was taken at the Nuremberg ToyFair in Germany this past weekend, and as you can see, the image on display for the upcoming Rogue One Lego set is none other than Boba Fett’s awesome looking spaceship of choice, the Slave 1.

On Sunday, January 24th, Fox will bring back Chris Carter’s brilliant series, The X-Files, for a six-episode revival run that will reunite beloved FBI Special Agents Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) for more alien-related exploits.
The last time we saw The X-Files on the airwaves during its initial run was back in May 2002, so if you watched the series throughout its nine seasons, you may be in need of a refresher on all the key players and integral storylines that make up the core mythology of The X-Files.
Mythology in regards to The X-Files could mean various things: the existence of aliens and how our government plays into that, various characters that fit in with different prophecies, the “Black Oil” that became a prominent antagonistic force during season three, the various conspirators and their attempts to derail Mulder and Scully’s work on the X-Files, Scully’s...

The mysteries surrounding Rogue One are very intriguing right now. For the most part because now that Episode VII has set the terms for the next two Saga installments, there’s a cone of possibility narrowing the scope of the “anything’s possible” attitude that Star Wars fandom had before The Force awakened.
I’m not saying the new characters and plot introduced to the galaxy for Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII isn’t the most interesting part of new Star Wars. The argument I’m making is maybe Rogue One is the most interesting upcoming Star Wars movie. We don’t know what an anthology film (“Star Wars Story”) is or what it’s supposed to look like. While Chronicles of Riddick had flashes of old fashioned space opera goodness, it was mostly a misstep in a series with two other pretty amazing entries in Pitch Black and Riddick. And even though the last film didn't exactly light the world on fire at the box office, it appears there's a lot more Furian story to tell.
A couple of days ago, Vin Diesel took to Instagram to announce plans for a television show called Merc City and new movie called Furia.

Though The Last Witch Hunter may have seen the actor venture off in a new creative direction, Vin Diesel is ensuring that fans of his more prominent roles have plenty to look forward to in the future. Not only will Diesel reprise his role as Xander Cage for long-rumored sequel xXx 3, but the series stalwart has effectively mapped out plans for numerous Fast and Furious spinoffs over at Universal.
Now, according to an Instagram update, Vin Diesel is on the verge of revisiting his role as the deadly, pearl-eyed Furyan for a brand new Riddick movie and spinoff TV series. Welcoming back writer-director David Twohy once again, Diesel noted that the Merc City offshoot will explore the lore of mercenaries and bounty hunters of the grimy sci-fi universe.

Fans of Vin Diesel’s Riddick will be happy to hear that the actor is bringing the character back for another chapter in the sci-fi adventure called Furia and that there will also be a TV spin-off series! He made the announcement on Instagram:

Actor Vin Diesel took to his personal Instagram account to announce a new “Riddick” film and a new television series which will revolve around mercenaries and bounty hunters within the “Riddick” universe. Director David Twohy (“Pitch Black”) is said to begin writing the next installment in the “Riddick” franchise next month.
Diesel is presumably spearheading the new television series saying:
“Last night Our company had a party to launch Our TV division. Very exciting. Merc City is a show that will follow the Mercs and Bounty Hunters of the Riddick Universe.”
Diesel previously played the legendary assassin Riddick three times in “Pitch Black” (2000), “The Chronicles of Riddick” (2004), and “Riddick” (2013).

Work is set to begin on Riddick 4, starring Vin Diesel. Plus we're also getting a spin-off TV series, Merc City...
Vin Diesel's immediate priority is to shoot Fast & Furious 8 for director F Gary Gray. But after that, he's got the latest chapter in two of his other film franchises to focus on.
We already know that he's gearing up for xXx 3, which may shoot straight after Fast & Furious 8. But the actor and producer has also confirmed that there are more stories in The Chronicles Of Riddick saga to be told.
David Twohy, he revealed, is set to pen Riddick 4, but also, a spin-off TV series is also on the way. As you can see from Diesel's Instagram post below, the TV project will go by the name of Merc City, and following "the Mercs and Bounty Hunters of the Riddick universe".

Vin Diesel is like a bald, muscular Energizer Bunny who kills lots of bad guys. He just doesn't stop. Other than starring roles in the upcoming Furious 9 and XXX: The Return of Xander Cage, Diesel will also be reprising the role that helped him become an action star. The actor announced on Instagram that Riddick, the ass-kicking anti-hero who knows how to hunt and kill people incredibly well despite being sorta blind, will return in a new movie, Furia, written by David Twohy, as well as a series called Merc City "that will follow the Mercs and Bounty Hunters of the Riddick Universe." Ain't no rest for the Diesel. To paraphrase Mr. Kanye West, Diesel would rather be a Riddick than a swallower.

Stars: Elma Begovic, Jordan Gray, Annette Wozniak, Denise Yuen, Lawrene Denkers | Written by Chad Archibald, Jayme Laforest | Directed by Chad Archibald
Chad Archibald has been making quiet a name for himself in genre cinema (and in my movie collection) over the past few years, whether it’s producing awesome action movies like Bounty Hunters, starring WWE’s Trish Stratus; or more horrific fare like Hellmouth and the fantastic Antisocial. More recently Archibald has also directed a number of horror hits, including last years Frightfest film The Drownsman and this years cause célèbre, Bite. Which has, if you believe the hype, been causing a furore at screenings around the world, with walkouts and vomiting amongst other audience afflictions…
Bite tells the story of bride-to-be Casey, while on her hen party getaway to exotic Costa Rica, gets a seemingly harmless bite from an unknown insect while bathing in an idyllic jungle pool.

The Bounty Hunters of the Star Wars galaxy have invaded this week's episode of Toy Review Tuesday, as we take a look at the latest figures from The Black Series line, as we gear up for Force Friday. Come inside to check it out!
As a toy collector, sometimes things can be really frustrating, especially since distribution has been a problem for this line in the area I live in. I like the hunt but if a product doesn't make it to the stores, how are we supposed to find it? Luckily at a swap meet this weekend, I was able to find some of the Star Wars The Black Series figures I'd been on the prowl for.
With Force Friday right around the corner I guess it's time for me to get back onboard for this line, so today's reviews are all about the Bounty Hunters!

We know it centers on how the Rebels stole the Death Star plans and that Darth Vader will have some influence in the movie, but now Bloody-Disgusting has learned a little bit more about the plot, how Vader ties into it, and some notorious Bounty Hunters that will cameo.

There are good days of speculating and bad days of speculating. As a completest geek who likes to have all his information canonical and intersecting, I’m constantly relying on the idea of consistency throughout storytelling. In my few years as someone who has tried thinking seriously about film and television, I’ve absorbed a great number of similar stories, character types, tropes and stereotypes. These things tend to play out in the same way.
I went to college for screenwriting (and if I were you, I wouldn’t - writing is a skill that can be developed without student loans), and there I would occasionally complain that Star Wars made every science fiction and fantasy fan a supposed “expect” in Joseph Campbell’s Hero with a Thousand Faces mono-myth and how it applies to Hollywood blockbuster filmmaking.

It looks like the first Star Wars “spin-off” movie, to be directed by Gareth Edwards, is gearing up to start shooting. We know that there was a reading of the draft done by Gary Whitta in the UK and now production is going to move stateside, likely to be close to Mexico.
Making Star Wars has some bullet points they obtained by talking to sources inside Pinewood Studios that flesh out where this non-trilogy film is going to look like:
Expect more on-location shooting than for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Crew members are hearing their start dates now.
Many believe they are doing a lot of work on-location in Mexico for the first spin-off.
There have been some Star Wars: The Force Awakens re-shoots going down recently at Pinewood using some of those people.
Bounty hunters are important to the film.
Painters are expected to redress some...

It was recently reported that Han Solo might make an appearance in Gareth Edwards' Star Wars spinoff, and that Aaron Paul is attached in some way to the project. Rumour has it that the movie focuses on a team of Bounty Hunters hired to steal the plans of the first Death Star. Though there are a number of movies Paul will be seen in this year, his schedule does appear to be pretty light, something which more than likely isn't helped by the unfortunate luck he's had with some of the choices he's made since Breaking Bad ended (Exodus: Gods and Kings for example). As you can see below, Paul has now taken to Twitter to seemingly debunk the rumour. It remains to be seen whether he does head to a Galaxy Far, Far Away in 2016, but hopefully Lucasfilm, Marvel, or DC Entertainment scoop up the talented Emmy Award...

Any fan of the classic 1980s sci-fi horror film Critters is going to love this fan-made short film created by Jordan Downey. The short is called "Critters: Bounty Hunter," and I think you’ll all be pleasantly surprised by its awesomeness. It’s definitely one of the better fan films in general that I’ve seen. You can tell Downey is a huge fan as it has the same vibe and spirit of the original movies. Here’s a note from the director:
“Call the Bounty Hunters, the Critters are back! Critters: Bounty Hunter marks the return of the carnivorous space creatures made popular by the 1986 classic. The short fan film from director Jordan Downey (ThanksKilling) serves as his pitch for the directing gig on an upcoming web-series from Warner Bros. Right now is a hot time for Star Wars news. The first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is about to drop, and to add more fuel to the ridiculous amount of anticipation building inside our Jedi-lovin' hearts, a new report today claims to reveal the plot for the first Star Wars spin-off movie, due to hit theaters in 2016, to be directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla). According to Slashfilm, the spin-off will be a sort-of prequel to A New Hope in that it will follow the rebels' attempt to steal the Death Star plans from the Empire. Remember, the rebels already have the plans in their possession at the beginning of A New Hope, so this movie will show us how they got them... and apparently it will be from an unlikely group of individuals. Bounty hunters. Yup, the...

How about we take a break from all the news about Star Wars: The Force Awakens to talk about one of the Star Wars spin-off moves that is currently in development. /Film came across some information regarding the plot of the Star Wars standalone film that is being directed by Gareth Edwards and written by Gary Whitta. Beacon Hills may be a small town, but this hamlet is anything but sleepy. Bounty hunters and assassins flock there in droves to watch leaves change or kill a few supernatural creatures. Local sports are big as well as deadly. There are battles between werewolves and hunters, grave robbing, infectious outbreaks and lots and lots of evil. The really nasty flesh and blood kind in addition to scary things that go bump in the night. Do-gooder wolf Scott McCall and his loyal friends and followers are more likely to be kicking ass on a Friday night than kickin' it at the mall. Here are some of the biggest troublemakers drawn to Beacon Hills.

It doesn’t take much effort to guess what’s on the menu in “Evil Feed”, an over the top cannibal gore comedy-martial arts hybrid directed by stuntman and stunt co-ordinator Kimani Ray Smith, known for his work on the likes of “Watchmen”, “X-Men”, and other Hollywood blockbusters. Having made the short “Suffer” back in 2011, the film marks Smith’s feature debut, and sees him going the full-on splatter route with a bloody tale that really lets the red stuff fly while packing in plenty of low-brow humour and cheap titillation, all in the worst possible taste. The sketchy plot revolves around the aptly named Long Pig Restaurant, where the customers dine on human flesh while watching death matches beamed live from the “Pit of Gore” in the basement. Mad owner Steven (Terry Chen, “House of Cards”) and his equally psychotic assistant Yuki (Alyson Bath, “Bounty Hunters”) find themselves with...

The What?: It’s a column on Star Wars news and rumors and therefore contains Spoilers and Speculation. If you’re not into those things, well, you're rookie status is showing.
This Week: More Episode VII plot details. Oh yeah!
How is one supposed to move forward with such vague rumors being all we have to go on? Embrace the madness is the answer. Have no fear to speculate and cross-confirm because fear is the beginning of the path to the Dark Side.
With that in mind, I think I can contribute a bit more to what we are pretty sure we know about the opening plot of the movie.
Spoilers! There Are Spoilers In Here!
Let’s re-cap where we left off, shall we?

“Imagine the standard Star Wars crawl, and when it ends the camera pans up to the stars. But instead of a spaceship zooming into frame we see.

If you’ve been waiting for just one shoe to drop for Marvel Studios and their streak of entertaining superhero films to end with Guardians of the Galaxy, you had better hold your breath… at least until the Ant-Man movie. When first announced, Guardians of the Galaxy was met with skepticism and trepidation (myself included) given that there was no link to the Avengers in any sort, the story took place in deep outer space, and it featured a gun-toting smack-talking raccoon (Bradley Cooper) and a living tree (Vin Diesel). But anyone who has read or is reading the comics, both the current run, and the essential Volume 2 (2008-2010) by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, knew its potential for taking the Marvel Cinematic Universe to places where there are no limits–if they could pull it off. Boy, did they ever.

Another day, another potentially groundless rumor for Star Wars: Episode VII. Yesterday, sometimes-reliable gossip site Latino Review posted a new crop of possible scoops for Disney and Lucasfilm’s upcoming, J.J. Abrams-directed franchise restarter.
Apparently, the mercenaries whom we recently heard will hunt Jedi in Episode VII may be related somehow to the Mandalorian race. According to Wookiepedia:
“In their early years, Mandalorian culture revolved around battle, with war being a source of honor and pride in their community. The leader of the Mandalorians, known as the Mand’alor, translates to “Sole Ruler” and presented as “Mandalore” in Basic. Throughout their history, the Mandalorians often allied with the Sith, perhaps most notably the Sith Lord Exar Kun, and held a certain distrust and general dislike for the Jedi Order.
However, they wouldn’t hesitate to cooperate with the Jedi if a partnership between the two groups was mutually beneficial.

I hadn’t heard of Bounty Killer till a couple of YouTubers (Coolduder, Wetmovie1) mentioned the film in their usual DVD and Blu-ray round-ups. The title alone intrigued me, after all I had enjoyed the previous “bounty hunter” flicks I’d seen: Michael Dudikoff’s Bounty Hunters and Bounty Hunters 2: Hardball and the recent Trish Stratus (WWE Diva) starring Bounty Hunters. So I was bound to enjoy a film that not only featured bounty hunters, but was called Bounty Killer, right?
In a word. Yes! In fact two words: Hell Yes!
Based on a short film of the same name (and also the graphic novel adaptation) by Jason Dodson and Henry Saine, Bounty Killer is set 20 years after corporations took over the world s governments.

Now that production on "Star Wars VII' is starting to heat up, the flood gates have been opened for rumors a plenty regarding the film. Last Wednesday, Bleeding Cool intercepted a casting breakdown for the movie revealing seven brand new characters; late-teen female, young twenty-something male, late twenty-something male, seventy-something male, second young female, forty-something male, and thirty-something male.
While there may not be any character names revealed thus far, judging by the casting breakdown it's fairly safe to say that the previous rumor of Jaina and Jacen Solo being the main focus of the new trilogy is false. Han and Leia's twin children may not be appearing in "Star Wars VII" after all, but we can't help but wonder what memorable characters from the original trilogy will be showing up. Take Zuckuss for example, the Gand bounty hunter that briefly appears in "Empire Strikes Back."
