The cast of the shield visits Cal & company

Anyone who's ever watched an episode of Lie To Me knows that it's one of the most entertaining shows on television. Phenomenal casting, acting, writing and plots. Great to see Tim Roth in one of my favourite roles/performances ever on television already as i've just recently got into this great series and am catching up on what i've missed so far. And so nice to see Kelli Williams back in another great series as she was wonderful on The Practice. And what a treat for the wonderfully talented/delightful Melissa George to have starred in those three great episodes (13,15,17) of season two (the reason i began watching the series in the first place). Anyways, as per the title of my review, what a trip to see four of the cast members from The Shield all appearing in the episode Pied Piper! Any other fans that liked that other truly great show should definitely get a kick from watching this episode!

Guilty or Innocent?

Seventeen years ago, Zoe prosecuted the kidnapper and murderer Jason Wilkie and Cal Lightman helped the accusation to convict in one of their first cases. Now, Jason will be executed, and Zoe and Cal are part of the audience that is witnessing. Jason says something in Latin and claims that he did not kill the child to the public. Cal sees truth in his look and questions whether he helped to convict an innocent man. Out of the blue, the Sheridan family receives a phone call identical to the one they received when their nephew was murdered, and they find that their older son, Oliver Sheridan, is missing. Ben Reynolds uses an FBI device and verify that the voice is the same. Now Cal is revisiting the evidence of the case, and the result may damage the reputation of and close The Lightman Group since Jason's brother, Kevin Wilkie, is threatening to process Cal.

"Pied Piper" is one of the best last episodes of "Lie to Me". The plot is well developed and resolved, with good twists. Loker looking for a job when the situation is critical is a funny moment of the show. My vote is eight.

Shield Me

One of my all time ever favourite series joins with another of my series loves when many major characters of The Shield do a great episode with Roth & company.

Seems like Cal is getting hammered a lot, though.

The Shield comes to town
interestingstuff28 August 2022
It's nice to see 6 actors from The Shield as guest actors in this show but writing is just as poor as other episodes so it's just as unwatchable as most episodes of this show. There are simply too many plot holes and too many logical errors which makes it impossible to follow the story and nothing in this episode passes the "common sense" test and it confuses the heck out of viewers but then again that's very common with this show where most episodes don't make sense from a storyline perspective.

One of the biggest problems with this show is that it feels the need to throw curveballs and plot twists at you just for the sake of doing so even though they don't fit with the main story. Plot twists don't work when they are forced and when they don't with fit the story but writers of this show seem to think that the more plot twists they can cram down in an episode, the better it makes an episode regardless of everything else going on and lack of storytelling.
