The heart monitor claims Mrs. Sussman is in asystole but that doesn't match the sound or pulse displayed on the monitor.
The attempt to resuscitate Mrs. Sussman was a disaster. Emergency room nurses are certified in advanced cardiac life support. The first things done were correct: they started breathing for the patient and started chest compressions. But after that the next step is always to shock the patient; that is, use the paddles to "kick start" the heart. There is no other way to do it in a hospital setting. All the people in that room would have known that.
With someone this important they would have to document that the paddles were used and the charge that was used and how many times it was done.
Sarah Khouri says she got a brown recluse (Loxosceles reclusa) spider bite in Arizona and declined treatment in Phoenix. Brown recluse are very rare in Arizona as it is not their natural habitat and there have been no verified bites in the state. The desert recluse (Loxosceles deserta) Arizona brown spider (Loxoceles arizonicus), along with various wolf spiders are commonly mistaken for brown recluse.
