I started the anime and expected a trashy story about teenagers doing some games with little twists. But its way better. The first Episode is good but the real fun begins with episode number 2. The show is more evil than I expected and there are a lot of twists. One star less because I think almost all the characters are somewhat unlikeable but thats not bad considering all the good ideas the writer had. I am really curious about the next episodes.

This was the biggest surprise this season. The best way I can describe the vibe of this anime is by Fast Five. Fast Five is one of the most bizarre, unrealistic movies out there and IT KNOWS IT. That's what makes it so fun to watch. Tomodachi Game is ridiculous, insane and it doesn't take itself seriously. It dedicates itself to one thing - Entertainment.
This is one of the shows that I could have dropped in the first 3 episodes. It felt weird, the characters felt bland, and I didn't get the vibe it was going for. But, something told me that it's going to get interesting, so I continued. And I'm glad I did. Because afterwards it doesn't stop. It just gets better and better. The fact that I knew nothing about the characters is what made it so fun and unpredictable. I could just sit back and watch these characters pull different tricks off their sleeve to destroy each other. And the final 5 episodes are just non-stop, chaotic, and ridiculously fun.
The main character is just unbelievable. He's one of the characters you root for, but at the same time you're scared of what he'll do. And the games too were really clever and cunning. This is really smart writing. Props to the Manga Author. Almost every episode ends on a cliffhanger and I was always curious to see what'll happen.
I would highly recommend watching this, and try to watch it from a fun popcorn watch perspective.

I'll be quick here. Watch this. It's a mix of death note and squid game But it's unique in its own way. I wasn't hooked after the first episode I will say that, but by the 3rd I was completely hooked.

Not exaggerating but this anime is quite impressive, the story seems interesting to me and i want to know what goes further, i hope season 2 will be released soon. And the main character Yuuichi Katagiri, he's the best manipulator I've seen in anime history after Johan Lieber, if you're interested in these types of anime, you should definitely watch this one for sure, and the background music is fxkin awesome in last episode, yuuichi the main character of this anime series is so badass in the last episode, but the last episode is quite disturbing so watch it on your own risk if you're sensetive in violence.

The anime is insanely good honestly, it's intense and drags you instantly with the drama ,it's also fun to watch, i mean the calculations and analyzations of other people's actions by the main character is insane and on op of that the brutality adds more spice. Kinda reminded me of "Death note", the main character has that "Light Yagami" vibe and i absolutely love it!
All in all, it was jaw-dropping 1000/10.

I made it to episode three and just couldn't continue because of how awful the show made me feel watching it. Something about this anime just made me so uneasy, but not in a good way like most psychological horrors do. It made sexual assault seem trivialized...just a really bad plot device and I just couldn't continue. Similar types of shows like Squid Game, Alice in Borderland, and Kaji the Ultimate Survivor (where people play high stakes games to survive) all have likable main characters while this show just doesn't. I can see why some like it, but it just isn't for me.

I'm just giving this a 10 because it's really hard to promote an anime which is judged before being finished. See the chaos and the concept is crazyy if you are a college student and a person who is great with studying everyone around them on psychological level then you'll be all inside the anime. I first thought it'll be like squid games and people will start dying but nah this is just a game with psychological thrills and a bit of thirst trapping :,) You can easily binge the 1st season as what i did... and now I'll be waiting for the second season that will be coming this year i guess, but really wish that this gets promoted.
Underrated for sure.

Mind-blowing anime..Those who are intelligent, will understand this anime and surely will rate 10 stars for sure It's worth watching, Suspense mystry and high IQ anime just like any other it reminds me of death note but it's different. I just loved the Yuichii main character, he's an overpower guy I mean literally he's got something super Manipulator and damn intelligent even smart tooo oo gosshhh just want it's next season 2 . I can't wait..how and what will happen next in game level 4.

If you like Death Note and Squid Game give this a shot. I was pleasantly surprised by it. My only disappointment is that there isn't more and season 1 ends on a crazy cliffhanger! This has mind games that are on par with Death Note and games with higher than usual consequences like Squid Game, but the consequences are generally less severe for the players (but still interesting). This show better not get canceled and hopefully gets several more seasons because it is too good to end it on the cliffhanger of Season 1. Why are you still reading this?! Go watch Tomodachi Game immediately and come back and thumbs up this review when you see how great it is!

This the first anime I had ever watched after doraemon and shinchan. And It was very nice. It's plot, it's characters, it's twists, it's intro song and it's PROTAGONIST. In short everything is good except that KISS. That kiss was awful I think I should cut one star for this but it's fine. Another thing is sexual assault of that girl, I forgot her name. I think that the makers should think of another secret rather than that. It's uncomfortable when you are watching that kiss and that scene with your sister or family.
I cut one star just for these two things otherwise this series is amazing. I am not able to find any other thing like that except on Netflix. There are many like this on Netflix for example death note.

I've never seen a show teeter so precariously on the line between 'so bad it's good' and 'unwatchable trash'. It's like, every few minutes it switches back and forth, it's kind of beautiful how terrible it is.
For an actual review, this show has 0 redeeming qualities. Bad characters, bad writing, bad music (OP is a banger tho), bad twists, bad exposition, bad acting, boring concept, bad pacing.

This is a really unique anime series that at this time yet to have a season 2 that it deserves, the characters are really creatively put together with great voices too. Each episode it better then the last and you can theorize what is going to happen or is happening within each episode. My two favorite characters in the series are Yutori & Yuichi and they end up very close in the last episode I hope in season 2 they end up together!
This series has a lot of potential and is similar to Danganronpa & Jigsaw but with more games. I really hope this series gets a season 2 and I think it might have potential of becoming one of my new favorite animes.

I liked it but the ending was kinda confusing. Either way i wouldn't say that it wasn't good, i think i need to read the manga to understand better. Plus, the artstyle was so very eye-catching and ofc i liked the protagonist.
I would recommend it but i would also recommend reading it's comic too. I wish they made the ending with more effort so that it wouldn't leave the audience hanging on a cliff.
Overall, the plot was good. The games were simple and no game had any mechanism that was complex. There were some plotholes but they are easy to be overlooked. Furthermore, i did enjoy watching it, so i am giving it 4 Stars.

Pointless fan service ruins an otherwise decent show

Not the best in its genre. Can be overly dramatic and a little too convenient, but when a plan or scheme comes together it's not bad at all. Based on those merits I'd say it's worth watching if you like this kind of thing.
However, the fan service is awful. I don't really like fan service to begin with, but depending on the tone of the show it can work. It can even be really funny. What's featured in this series, though, just ends up being distracting. A random panty shot at a critical moment. Boobs displayed like a museum exhibit during an important plot point. Massive cleavage focus in one scene, and then the following for pretty much no reason except boobs. It's almost as if they don't trust the audience to continue paying attention unless there's nudity on the screen. Things like this alone already make the show seem kind of cheap, but when you combine it with the standard anime tropes you'd come to expect it just amplifies that to the point where you can't take anything seriously. This is a shame because there are moments in this show that really shine, but none of it matters because somehow boobs have to be involved. It's the kind of thing that sabotages potentially great shows and turns them into instantly forgettable garbage, which is exactly what this is.
If you don't mind watching trash with some halfway decent psychological strategy, this is an okay choice.
