During a competition among chefs, chef Jeffrey Barge dies, and the CBI assume the investigation. In principle, they suspect of the competitors, since the award is one hundred thousand dollars; his estranged wife Abigail Barge joins the list; and also, the promoter Bertram Duesterberg, since Jeffrey was poisoned. But when chef Julia St. Germain also dies poisoned, Patrick Jane plots a trap to catch the killer in a lunch party.
