Not that bad as others say in my opinion. Not the best movie or not even close to being very good. First half of the movie was so unbearable for me with the forced double meaning humour and i felt like even Lalettan was over acting in the first half. Second half though i felt little better. Action scenes were pretty good , acting improved and the way they wanted the movie go was different at parts. Still some dailogues were cringe, and some of the things were forced. Overall if you can look past the first half the second half isnt terrible. Bgm was good , but again some tropes are so much overused and tiresome. Again not that bad as some of them say especially the second half.

Pathetic movie. Whole story,twist,plot everything is conveyed through verbal Diarrhoea by mohanlal and poorly tried to convey a message. Horrible directions never expected from a director like vyshak ,a good tread spoiled by director and try to make it mass unnecessarily that's why the film utterly failed in box office.
Still not understanding why they brought so many people with good star value in unimportant characters. For eg Jagapathi babu,Ganesh, Siddique,lena The movie is shot too unrealistic way too. A movie not worth watching a total waste of time though this is a short movie which will be over in 2 hours.

Pathetic first half, felt like a soap opera. Everything changed all of a sudden in the 2nd half with some twist elements.
Lots of police casts who were like some jokers walking here and there for 'investigation' for no specific reason.
New kind of storyline, Honey Rose got a good role to showcase her acting skills.
At the end, some quality is lacking. Also the name Monster didn't suite that much to a movie like this. Still it's an one time watch. It's Okay to come late to this movie and we can purposefully skip the first half and save some time.
The movie is not a masterpiece but it's a good watch.

What a cringe fest! How come Mohanlal still select these kinds of really bad scripts. There's no curiosity, no thrill and no fun and never an entertainer. Whole first half till Mohanlal 'tried' to kill Sudev Nair is a cringe-fest. All the tasteless jokes and irresistible meaningless actions around women from Mohanlal was boring and pathetic as lleh*. This movie follows the same template as the previous Mohanlal action movies. And boy the count of plot holes you'll get in this movie!
The story goes like this in simple terms, Mohanlal is as an IPS police officer on a mission to find the insurance fraudster/murder culprit duo which one happens to be Honey Rose (Sudev Nair's wife), now covertly working as Honey Rose's (working as a taxi driver) customer while she was targeting Sudev as her next victim. Mohanlal comes in, saves Sudev from eating their first anniversary cake (laced with poison) which is Honey Rose's signature style. Then there's the fake killing of Sudev and planting all the fake evidences by Mohanlal against Honey Rose in order to take her in custody. Then the interrogation by Ganesh Kumar and Lena. Truth to be told Honey Rose's interrogation scene was kind of impressive because for few minutes she made me a fool.
The plot twists in the second half was like 😑 whatever man. Then after the interrogation, on the way to court happens the shootout and escape, and all this time Mohanlal and team were following(surprising😒). And the next plot twist was revealing the partner/accomplice of Honey Rose which was not a he but a she(again surprising😫) Lakshmi Manchu(never seen her before, good convincing actress 👍) with a great change over as Honey Rose's churidar wearing, limping, naïve caretaker/housemaid into a sexy lady with tight leggings and sports bra and tight braided hair. The hilarious thing was during the declaration of lesbian criminals they both starting kissing in front of Mohanlal 😆😆 I mean why? To show him that they are a lesbian? Anyways, Irrespective of the matter, they had a bad history of male chauvinism and violence because of the 'profane' relationship in front of the senseless society while they were living in Orissa. I understand about the bad things that happened since their childhood but that's not reason enough for them to change into cutthroat psychopaths and murdering all those (3) innocents men around the country. They could be better, experience gives wisdom.
Then the stunts started. Man the typical slow motion - gravity defying-can't do without a crane stunts that you see in typical Vysakah movies like Pokkiriaraja, Mallu Singh, Cousins and Pulimurugan. And as usual Mohanlal defeats them and closes the case. Just unbearable. Now, Let me give some plot holes that I find in the story.
1. All these time Mohanlal worked in a covert operation only because he had to find out the poison that was used for the murder. Why? There are so many tests and techniques like chromatographic and spectrophotometric methods which are detailed for blood, urine and tissue analysis. Three murders have been done and they couldn't done these tests or if complicated they could send the samples to a foreign country and identify.
2. A decent taxi company owned by Sudev with probably dozens of normal and luxury cars and many employers and drivers.... Don't they checkout the vehicle at the end of every shift?😯
3. The ladies were in a relationship since childhood. Naturally they were kicked out of the orphanage, even though they knew they love each other but they should have anticipate the society might still not in favor with homosexual relationship. They should have been careful with their lives, even expect something like bad humiliation would be happen in rural areas(which seems like the place where they suffered). Apparently they were not bright.(but enough intelligent to plot and kill people, even creating their signature poison😆)
4. OK anyway they had their first crime and they claimed the insurance of some around 1 crore. That was enough of the both of them to run away into another country undoubted and undetected and live a happy life. Apparently, like I said, not very bright.
5. Why these ladies didn't have a single thought to scan around their previous crimes, news reads/notes ,people of their own to scan around the place of their previous crimes and send tips that they are tailed? They know they have done a crime, and they should have been vigilant and always had a plan of escape if ever they thought they might be in any kind of trouble.
6. Like the previous fact, they should have a plan B when plan A goes awry. Like for example, Honey Rose and Lakshmi(or either one of them) should always be around their victim like if anything goes wrong they should have gone to plan B but apparently they were careless because, yeah, they are not bright.
Like this there are so many plot holes and am tired of counting them. Please have your mind loosen up before watching this movie or have your mobile in full charge. If you simply want to waste time because you absolutely surely don't have anything to do you can proceed. But let me tell you if you are tired of illogical, unrealistic and typical masala type movies, You won't bear the consequences.

First half of the movie is cringe because of Mohanlal trying to be a fake singh. It was quite obvious that there was something more to it. As expected the story reveals and the twists can be seen a mile away. Nothing surprising! The LGBTQ angle was also clear long before they can reveal it. This is nothing but s cringe LGBTQ propaganda movie probably funded by vested interests. No one in their right mind would make a dumb movie like this. India is the new target for these types of movies now it looks like. Hope people don't fall for this nonsense. Be watchful of the new type of content that Disney, Netflix and others are putting out. Absolute cringe.

-Lucky Singh reminded us of Mohanlal's role in 12th Man. They were both obnoxious and loud, you could tell the behavior was faked to later unveil another face

-The screenplay was predictable; we could tell the end from the beginning based on how awkwardly some characters behaved

I Felt cringe and boring to watch Mohanlal's one man show from his entry till first half of movie. This movies portraits the issues of LGBTQ but still the story line is a failure. Its jus a movie of one time watch and will be little better if audience doesnt have any expectation.
Guess, Mohanlal has given his date just to avoid sitting idle. Didnt understand why udayakrishna still didn't get the bus from 20's even after pathetic failure of Araattu. Atleast try to know wat people especially, Mallus like to watch in this era. The time of Mass Masala films with double meaning dialogues had gone years before itself. Expected a little more from vysakh & Mohanlal.

Udaikrishna's scripts have become quite predictable lately. This is another spoiled effort by the writer. As soon as we see some of the castings, we get to know where this is headed. For instance, casting Lakshmi Manchu in Durga's role was quite unconvincing. She doesn't look, act, or speak like a Maduraiite babysitter. Hence, it was clear from the beginning that she would be revealed as the main villain towards the end. Plus, her character itself was completely unconvincing - being an orphan, she learnt multiple languages, fights like a pro, and even crafted a special poison that kills without getting detected in autopsy.
I am giving only two stars because of a quite unexpected twist. Other than that particular twist (which I will not reveal here), almost everything was predictable in this movie. Also, casting Mohanlal as Lucky Singh adds no real value to the story. This would have been the same even if he was a Malayali businessman. His performance as a Punjabi-Malayali was quite unconvincing and his dialogs rife with innuendos. Also, the story wouldn't have any difference even if Mohanlal's character was a normal police officer. He didn't have to be some special investigative officer with a fancy name. It seemed like even Siddique was having a chuckle when he was revealing the name of Mohanlal's character.
All in all, other than the one twist that I didn't expect, this movie was a joke. If you want to watch and laugh at the movie, then go ahead.

Watched this movie First day first show. Mohanlal as lucky Singh maintained his standard. The first half was pretty much boring and slow . It will test the patience of viewers. Honey rose has more scenes than Mohanlal. Yes you heard it right. The movie revolves around central character honey rose. The second half was good with twist that saved the movie . Lakshmi Manchu , sudev etc acted well along with Honey rose. If the movie Mumbai police was about G then this movie is about L. I hope you know what I meant by G and L. U will understand if you watch the movie. Won't reveal anything more than this . It was perfect for OTT release and I don't think it will run more in theatres. One time watchable , that's it.

It was interesting until the interval. Sexual content and gore scenes are in the movie and its U/A certified, I wonder how. It was embarrassing to watch this movie with my family. Biased rating.

The film revolves around the visit of a Punjabi-Malayali entrepreneur named Lucky Singh, who is ferried around Kochi by cab driver Bhamini. His intrusive ways also mean he becomes an unwelcome guest at her first wedding anniversary. But after Lucky departs, Bhamini is caught up in a mess she has no explanation for. Is Lucky who he claimed he was and what were his true intentions ? - the answers of these form the plot of this Udaykrishna directorial, which has his usual staple of 'mass' moments, a convoy of cars and the male gaze.
For Mohanlal, the role is a cakewalk. As Lucky Singh, he is jovial and loud, and sometimes irritable too. But that's what the writer seems to have gone for. He also gets his share of moments that play to the gallery. The rest of the cast, however, fails to raise the energy. You could feel this by how the movie's pace slackens when the actor is not there. Honey Rose is probably the only other actor to stand out here, partly getting the audience to empathise with her situation in the first half.
In a scene in director Vysakh's Monster, two cops tell their superior that they have done all that they have been asked to but are still confused about what's going on. This happens after they have apprehended a suspect of a murder case and also have gone great lengths to verify the suspect's claims by bringing a man who was in another State. At times, while watching the Mohanlal-starrer, it won't be too far-fetched to say that the cops' thoughts also reflect what the audience is feeling. This greatly has to do with how the script of the film has been structured - mainly to hold off the middling suspense.
Mohanlal's Monster is a mishmash of several genres and only works when the makers focus on the crime thriller aspect. Apart from a few scenes, which the makers are pushing as new territory for mainstream superstar-driven movie, the film leaves much to be desired.

Malyalam film Review: Monster streaming on Disney+ Hotstar
Story: A couple Bhamini & Chandra who run a Taxi service franchise and are in a spot of bother financially, are celebrating their first wedding anniversary with their daughter ,when a customer- the whimsical & quirky Lucky Singh enters their lives to change it forever. At first he seems to be whimsical, however there seem to be more sinister happenings going on in the background which are revealed in due course.
Mohanlal as Lucky Singh has done a lot of hamming in the first 1 hr of the film. A Punjabi speaking malyalam, adbhut 😁... It gets on ur nerves after some time . However if you can bear the tirade for 60 mins, that's when things heat up and the real film starts. The twist just before the interval is awesome and literally hits you hard. 2nd half is fast paced and the climax too is different.
The first half is a bit streched and could have been cut down drastically. Especially Mohanlal's scenes as Lucky Singh can irritate you after a while.
I am a big fan of Mohanlal, yet felt a bit let down by this film. Not his greatest work. Watch it for the 2nd half where most of the action happens. Not bad.. but cud have been better!!

Aaraattu was just cringefest and even considering it as a spoof didn't help at all, for me.
But when looking at Monster, the intentional humor,mostly laced with double meaning & sex jokes, mohanlal's get up, slang and all were cringy but the dialogues, it's delivery, awkward scenes and twists present in this one turned it into a laugh riot for me and i also liked the fight sequences and the background scores so two stars for all that.
Lucky singh..sorry sivadev/?(Agent X) looking awkwardly here and there while those ladies were kissing was comedy gold to me lol.
"Laughter is the best medicine" so waiting for even more superior installments in this "marvellous" universe to healthify myself.

Its among the long list of pathetic movies that Mohanlal has been doing in the recent path. As a fan of movies I end up feeling for him, for the mockery that he is doing in the name of comedy. Its a shame that an actor with such a legacy has to stoop to this shameful level. Blessed be those who haven't seen this. The movie is a complete fail in all its aspects and as a viewer you end up disappointed trying to find a silver line, to make your penny worth. Monster is a child born to Arattu in Loham, inheriting all the negatives of both. This was least expected from Vyshakh as well. Overall a forgettable experience.

Very poor screenplay, editing and direction ! The story had some elements that could have made it an interesting watch - but alas the movie was more concentrating on style over substance and real or heroism.
Apart from the story aspect, technically also the movie was pretty shabby, score being too loud and editing done in such a way to seem as "cool", but really just confuses and looks pretty cheap.
Heck the ending and back story could have elaborated, and give characters more 3 D and realness - but the hurried edit and direction spoilt it completely.
Final word - Not worth a watch - even the actors were not really performing with much conviction.
Apart from the story aspect, technically also the movie was pretty shabby, score being too loud and editing done in such a way to seem as "cool", but really just confuses and looks pretty cheap.
Heck the ending and back story could have elaborated, and give characters more 3 D and realness - but the hurried edit and direction spoilt it completely.
Final word - Not worth a watch - even the actors were not really performing with much conviction.

The only suspense is in the title. Although there's a doubt, who killed whom and why and such things, but when the screenplay gets entangled, it's more of a confusion than a suspense. It feels as if the Director tried to put himself in the audience seat and clarify the doubts one by one. In such an attempt the effort made the story movement loose.
The lead roles other than honey rose contribution to the story on screen seemed limited. Narration, in my opinion should be last attempt to untangle the knot of the plot. Whilst Megastar of molly wood doing this is just a couple of cups popcorn munching episode. With just a social message tagline, I'll not again take the attempt of watching a meaningless star hero movie. And nonetheless, the third important role of the script, Manchi Lakshmi,.. Better not touch it. Just to gain tollywood market share, a comic character in herself, made a comedy out of the role itself.

See her pickin laletan in airport laletan begs to take her home and barges into their wedding anniversary lunch he accidentally ruins the cake annoys everyone we later see the cle was poisoned laletan actually is a police coming to rescue honeys husband I felt scared when watching laletan kill husband villagers molesting villain was scry I felt nudity was too much during that scene.

It knocked my sock off...a brilliant thriller and mystery...
Amazing performance by Mohanlal the legend..
Rose metheiw played her role fantastically so much so that you will never figure out the next scene nor can you predict it..
Yes movie is a bit slow but making movie is not an easy task especially when you have to shoot it in a flat mostly...
I was astonished when suspense is revealed....
I think everyone can watch it at least once..
Climax could have been better but it is one of the excellent movie of south.
