  Blue Beetle : But...

  Guy Gardner : Not so fast. When it comes down to it, bug boy here kicked that scarab's tail. If you ask me, the kid proved he can handle this tin suit.

  Guardian : [sharing a look with the other Guardians]  Perhaps Jaime Reyes has proven that he is the master of the scarab.

  Blue Beetle : So does this mean we're buddies, Guy?

  Guy Gardner : Let's not get carried away.

• Guy Gardner : Power down and turn over the scarab.

  Blue Beetle : Excuse me?

  Guy Gardner : Nobody's holding you responsible, kid. It's the armor. Got you under its influence.

  Batman : What's going on here?

  Guy Gardner : Stay out of this, Bats. Corps business.

• Batman : [Beetle disengage's Oa's planetary defense system]  Jaime, what are you doing?

  Blue Beetle : [waking from his trance]  Where am I?

  Guy Gardner : In hot water, bug boy.

  Batman : Back off, Gardner.

• Guy Gardner : Sorry, bug boy, but we gotta lock you up in the science cells for your own good.

  Blue Beetle : I don't think so.

  Batman : [breaking up their fight]  Jaime, Guy, break it up.

  Guy Gardner : Why don't you keep out of it?

  Batman : Be a good boy, Guy. Remember what happened last time?

  Guy Gardner : Lucky punch.

  Batman : Now, will somebody other than Guy tell me what this is all about?

• Guardian : The invasion of Oa has begun. All Lanterns are ordered into space to defend our world.

  Guy Gardner : [to Batman]  Maybe you ought to stay here and babysit the traitor before...

  [he and Kilowog get zapped by Beetle] 

  Batman : Jaime, don't let them control you. They...

  Blue Beetle : [zapping Batman, too]  There is no Jaime. Only the Reach.

• Batman : Jaime, snap out of it.

  [Beetle electrocutes him, then conjures cannons on his arms and prepares to fire] 

  Guy Gardner : [blasting Beetle backward]  Told ya. Game's over, kid. And I win.

  Guy Gardner : Loud and clear, punk.

  Batman : I've been training Jaime for months. He's a good kid. If the scarab was controlling him, I'd know it.

  Guy Gardner : Well, if he's such a good kid, then he won't mind giving up the scarab.

  Blue Beetle : I keep the scarab. You want it? You'll have to take it from me.

  Guy Gardner : [conjuring a brick wall to block his path]  In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might, beware my power, Green Lantern's light.

  Blue Beetle : Poetry?

  Guy Gardner : A sacred oath. That's what I stand for, bug boy. What do you stand for?

  [Beetle doesn't know what to say] 

  Guy Gardner : That's what I thought.

• Guy Gardner : You brought that traitor here, Bats. Oa goes down, it's gonna be on your head.

  Batman : That "traitor" could have destroyed us all, but he didn't. Which means that Jaime is still in there, somewhere.

• Kilowog : They're after the central power battery.

  Guy Gardner : If they take that out, our rings are as good as dead. And so are we.
