Ten hilarious stories about Finland, the country of extremes. Carousel is a comedy series about our dearest country that is confidently, yet very sluggishly in the state of transformation. The ten self-contained episodes depict some annoyingly familiar bubbles we Finns live in. People both in the cities and in the countryside are each hollering their own messages to non-existing recipients. Public and private. Rustic and urban. These illustrate the poles of an axis the Finnish citizens dwell. Citizens who were born during the Cold War, when the great Soviet Union still existed. The scriptwriters and actors form an ensemble of ten talented people. The renowned Finnish actors play roles of the most amusing stereotypes from municipal managers to rap artists. The concept's creator Petteri Summanen is also directing the series. Summanen is working together with Kari Hietalahti and Anna Ruohonen. The writer-trio is describing a joyous imagery of people and events that we can all too well recognize. The combination of both real and absurd world is a very timely and insightful depiction of Finland in the year of 2021.
