Dan Fogelman is adding another Hulu series to his portfolio, this one set in the high-stakes world in the NFL.
Hulu has given a series pickup to the untitled project, which is from 20th Television and Skydance Sports. Details are sparse, though it is said to involve a generational family dynamic, in addition to its setting in the NFL.
Skydance Sports, it is worth noting, is a joint venture between David Ellison’s Skydance and the NFL. The league is notoriously careful about its brand, but told The Hollywood Reporter last year that it wants to develop more scripted fare via the Skydance Jv.
Fogelman is serving as writer and executive producer alongside Jess Rosenthal with David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold, and Jason T. Reed serving as EPs for Skydance Sports.

Joey King has signed with WME for representation.
The 24-year-old actor is best known for Netflix’s “The Kissing Booth” franchise, as well as Hulu’s true-crime series “The Act.” She scored an Emmy nomination for “The Act,” in which she portrayed Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who faced years of suffering and abuse as a result of her mom’s Munchausen syndrome by proxy. (The real Gypsy Rose eventually faced jail time for the second-degree murder for the death of her mother.)
King’s other credits include Hulu’s historical drama “We Were the Lucky Ones,” David Leitch’s action-comedy “Bullet Train,” Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises” and “Crazy Stupid Love.” This summer, she will voice a character in Universal and Illumination’s “Despicable Me 4.” King is also starring in Netflix’s “A Family Affair” alongside Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman.

A year before Will Smith and Margot Robbie co-starred in "Suicide Squad," they teamed up for a crime caper that fared a lot better critically than David Ayer's ill-fated supervillain team-up. These days, Robbie is riding high after "Barbie" became the highest-grossing movie of 2023. The Aussie star will soon follow up that success with a starring role opposite Colin Farrell in Kogonada's "A Big Bold Beautiful Journey," not to mention the slew of films her production company, LuckyChap, has lined up.
Smith, meanwhile, hasn't been in the public eye as much in recent years, following what was a disastrous 2022 for the actor. His upcoming role alongside Martin Lawrence in "Bad Boys: Ride of Die" — the trailer for which looks like it will please longtime franchise fans — will be a real test for the actor, and should give a good indication on how the general public are feeling about Smith...

Ryan Gosling is living his best life these days. Or certainly his funniest. After earning an Academy Award nomination purely based on his ability to persuasively turn “Kenergy” into a noun in last summer’s Barbie, he brought that pure, uncut Ken stuff to the Oscar stage. No, not by winning the prize, but by taking home the hearts and minds of the internet with an epic performance of “I’m Just Ken.”
In hindsight, the spectacle of it all might be viewed as a turning point in his career as audiences embrace the guy who seemed so stoic and tortured in the 2010s—with his understated leading roles in Drive, Blade Runner 2049, Blue Valentine, and First Man—as actually a great comedy talent. His next studio vehicle, The Fall Guy, is in theaters now, and we can vouch for it being a breezy, lighthearted entertainment given life by...

The 16 Best Ryan Gosling Movies, from ‘The Fall Guy’ and ‘Drive’ to ‘Barbie’ and ‘Blade Runner 2049’
[Editor’s note: this list was originally published in July 2023, and has since been updated.]
Ryan Gosling has that Ken-ergy. He’s Ken out of Ken. He’s Kendlessly Kentertaining. He’s the Kend all, be all. He’s the Kenvy of other actors. He’s impossible to not Kenjoy. He’s more, much more, than Kenough.
Gosling has had a long, fruitful career, but it’s safe to say that he’s never committed to a role as hard as he’s committed to the bit that was the “Barbie” press tour. Every interview and soundbite the Canadian actor gave in the publicity run for Greta Gerwig’s take on the iconic Mattel toy line has launched meme after meme, as he’s spoken about the importance of telling the tragic story of Barbie’s beau Ken. It’s a commitment that’s only seconded by his performance in the film itself, where he goes for broke with a hilarious, oblivious, and often sweet...

Ryan Gosling said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal Magazine that he is no longer picking roles that are too psychologically twisted in order to maintain his mental health for the sake of his family. The Oscar nominee has two children with partner and fellow actor Eva Mendes. Gosling’s recent movies, the comedy “Barbie” and the action romance “The Fall Guy,” certainly reflect this career choice.
“I don’t really take roles that are going to put me in some kind of dark place,” Gosling told the publication. “This moment is what I feel like trying to read the room at home and feel like what is going to be best for all of us. The decisions I make, I make them with Eva and we make them with our family in mind first.”
“I think ‘La La Land’ was the first,” Gosling added about when he started to shift his career.

Ryan Gosling is “literally me.” That’s the literal description of the actor’s versatility and popularity. The actor has grown beyond the essential romantic comedy star to a multifaceted actor who can effortlessly play different roles across diverse genres.
However, recently, Vanity Fair made a shocking remark about Gosling’s lack of comedic ventures, which made fans fumed up and share their humorous take on the remark. Vanity Fair’s clear lack of information is evident when they put out a statement saying that Barbie was the first comedic venture of Gosling.

Ryan Gosling was honored by the Santa Barbara Film Festival on Saturday night, and used his speech to reflect on his long journey to becoming Ken.
Receiving the Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film at a dinner in Santa Barbara, Gosling mused how “up until this point, I’ve only ever thought about just how much cinema had done for me, I had never really thought about what I’ve done for cinema.”
He recalled how in third grade he had a swearing problem (joking, “I didn’t think it was a problem but my teachers did and I just thought they were being a bunch of uptight mother— wait.”) and struggled in school, until one of his teachers planned weekly visits to the library and made a deal that for every book the actor read he could rent a movie from the library’s collection.

Ryan Gosling wasn’t Stone’s only love interest in the 2011 Steve Carrell comedy. Singer Josh Groban played the actor’s initial boyfriend in the movie, who isn’t the most considerate lover to Stone’s character. He won the role in a very traditional way. But Groban joked that he felt a bit conflicted portraying such a mean-spirited partner.
“I went in for the audition and after one reading the casting director said, ‘Oh my god, you’re just perfect.’ I was really excited for a moment, then it dawned on me: ‘I just nailed the douchebag character.

“Rabbit Hole” stars Kiefer Sutherland as a corporate espionage consultant who must go on the run after being framed for murder by a shadowy but powerful group, a character that is used to being on the receiving end of punches, quite unlike the character he’s best known for on “24.”
The Paramount+ series pairs Sutherland with “Crazy, Stupid Love,” “This is Us” and “WeCrashed” writer-directors John Requa and Glenn Ficarra. When they pitched him on a series that’s a throwback to ’70s conspiracy thrillers “Three Days of the Condor” and “Marathon Man” and “The Parallax View,” he was fully on board. “I’m so lucky that they called me first,” Sutherland told TheWrap ahead of the series premiere on March 26.

Emma Stone has cemented herself in superhero mythology by portraying Gwen Stacey in The Amazing Spider-Man. But she initially thought she lost the role after giving an audition she wasn’t too thrilled about.

The Amazing Spider-Man was a slight departure from Stone’s usual movies in the 2010s. Around that time, she was building her portfolio in successful hits like Easy A and Crazy Stupid Love, and Zombieland. Most of these movies leaned heavily towards the comedy genre.
The Amazing Spider-Man, however, was an action adventure film adapted from a popular superhero franchise. Because of this, Stone admitted she was hesitant to take the role in the beginning. But that would change after doing a screen-test with her former real-life partner Andrew Garfield.

Kevin Bacon has finally entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though it is in an incredibly surprising way. He will be playing himself in the forthcoming "The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special" set to premiere on Disney+ on November 25, 2022. Thanks to mergers and multiverses, Bacon technically already is in the MCU, as he played Sebastian Shaw in "X-Men: First Class," but this is his official introduction to the current slate.
Because Bacon will be playing himself, it immediately brings to mind the incredibly fun game "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon." The man has appeared in so many films for over 40 years now, in both leading and supporting parts, that it feels like he has worked with every actor out there. Surprisingly, this holiday special will be the first time he has worked with every actor that makes up the Guardians team. That means playing Six Degrees with this cast is pretty fun.

Claiming that he was running for his life and chased by armed gunmen, McAfee and the film crew traveled deep into the rainforest,...

In our Q&a series "Popsugar Crush," we get to know some of our favorite celebs' more intimate details - from their first celebrity crush to the best love advice they've ever received. This month, we're crushing on "Anything's Possible" star Abubakr Ali.
Abubakr Ali takes playing a romantic lead very seriously. Maybe that's not surprising, since he's a graduate of the Yale School of Drama. And he loves a rom-com. "I'm the biggest simp," he tells Popsugar about his affection for the genre. But still, even he admits the way he prepared for his role as Khal, the romantic lead in Billy Porter's feature directorial debut, "Anything's Possible," was a little over the top.
"I spent a month, as silly as it is, listening to Disney music, listening to music that made me feel lanky and silly and open," he says. Ali, 31, wanted to get himself in the mindset of Khal,...

At age 13, Ryan Gosling was spreading cheer on “The Mickey Mouse Club.” But something must have snapped in the dozen years between “The Notebook” and “La La Land.” The Canadian heartthrob seems committed to convincing us that he can be a cold-blooded, even-keeled, unsentimental killer. Starting with Nicolas Winding Refn’s “Drive,” followed by the Danish director’s “Only God Forgives” and now playing the title character in the Russo brothers’ “The Gray Man,” an actor who once radiated charisma in “Crazy Stupid Love” has been perfecting an inexpressive cool that borders on nihilism, keeping his pulse stable and poker face fixed as he offs whatever adversaries come his way.
Gosling doesn’t just want to be an action star; he wants to be the Hollywood version of Alain Delon, the handsome French icon who played a sociopath with perfect cheekbones in “Purple Noon” and a hit man with no visible emotions in “Le Samouraï.

NBC finally drew the curtain on its hit-series “This is Us” on May 24, 2022. The series finale of the tear-jerking drama series aroused gloomy reactions across the board — fans and casts alike, “This is Us” is our favorite thing.
The words of William Hill’s ghost to Rebecca Pearson in the final episode sums up how we all feel. “The way I see it, If something makes you sad when it ends, it must have been pretty wonderful when it was happening.”
Pretty wonderful might be an understatement when describing a show that held its audience spellbound from the moment its trailer was released online — nearly 80 million views within two weeks.
In its first season, the multiple award winning family drama series averaged 15.3 million viewers. And even though the figures have dropped over the years, there are still a few shows with such a cult following like “This is Us.”

After almost three absurdly long years, “Stranger Things” Season 4 is just around the corner. A tentpole series for Netflix — at a whopping production cost of reportedly 30 million per episode — the fan-favorite sci-fi show that launched its young adult cast, led by Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard, into superstardom will be dropping new episodes May 27.
And, according to the Emmy-winning series’ executive producer Shawn Levy, it’s going to be “harrowing,” “cinematic” and “epic.” He told TheWrap in a recent interview, “This is so much more story and runtime than ever before, not by a little. By a lot.”
The last month of spring will also see the return of reality series titles like “The Circle” — a social media-driven competition series where players catfish, befriend and flirt with each other with the aim of winning a grand cash prize — and “Bling Empire” — which centers on a group of uber-wealthy Asian American friends in Beverly Hills.

On a warm February evening in Miami, Dua Lipa kicked off her "Future Nostalgia" Tour with a pumped-up performance of "Physical," immediately followed by "New Rules" and her disco, dance-pop hit "Love Again." In the months since the tour began - her first since 2018 - Lipa has remastered running on stage and belting out power ballads without losing her breath, all while cycling through a colorful collection of catsuits straight out of 1985.
"It's been a massive learning curve for me - building stamina, running on stage, and putting the whole show on."
"It's just been such a surreal experience that we even get to be on the road and put this show on," Lipa told Popsugar in April. "It's been a massive learning curve for me - building stamina, running on stage, and putting the whole show on."
