Why oh WHY do they never pick up the weapon??
deedrala7 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This would have been one of those rarities: a halfway-decent Lifetime movie, if Rachel would have simply picked up the gun after she knocked out the villain Claire....and it wasn't just once that she had the chance to pick it up and get it away from the villain, but twice (or three times if you count the last time before she let her fall to her death).

It's just another of the many contrived Lifetime movie tropes that they use over and over to milk the suspense for all it's worth. Because if she had simply picked up the gun next to Claire after she knocked her down (and temporarily out) the first time, the movie would have been over. But they just can't let such a quick, easy, sensible ending like that happen, of course. So Claire had the gun right next to her to pick right up to chase Rachel with a SECOND time, and when Rachel got the best of her again, in the restroom, she left the gun lying next to her AGAIN. So Claire picked it up for the third time, and on and on....

One of the usual Lifetime tropes that wasn't used this time, which pleasantly surprised me, was the constant denial by everyone of the villain's guilt when suspicions were aroused in one of the intended victims. When Rachel went to Lindsey to tell her why she suspected Claire of manipulating things to make her look bad, Lindsey not only listened without blowing her off, but even allowed her 4 year old daughter to answer Rachel's questions. And when Rachel told Bill about it on the phone, he didn't waste any time condescending to her with lines such as, "you're imagining things", etc. So that's a plus in Lifetime's favor, and one of the reasons I gave it a 5 out of 10.

Overall, the acting was good, and yes, as a few others here have said, the mother-in-law played by Diane Robin was superb, just like she was as the mom-in-law in a past LMN movie where she was also killed by the villain. The storyline and dialogue were pretty good too, unlike most LMN tripe. And it was interesting to see Ashlyn Yennie play the good girl instead of the conniving villain this time.

So: Grade C / 5 out of 10.

Pretty good although...

Warning: Spoilers
There are some holes in this. Recent films have been giving pregnant women superhuman abilities and strength beyond anything normal. This is the only thing that fails a good tense film. The mother-in-law was over the top and quite surreal, but onto the other characters. The husband and wife couple are very nice people where butter wouldn't melt in their mouths. The villain is just pregnant and evil all because her school crush didn't marry her, but how many decades ago was it since they were last at school???? The police are never called in these films, and when they are the police don't seem bothered.

TERRIBLE!
dannyscott-174319 January 2022
This is actually terrible. Worse than an old daytime drama. The acting is totally horrible and unbelievable. The script is even worse. The best line in the film is 'just stand there and don't drop it'

Exactly When Can The Gun Be Taken From Claire?
aubina16 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I just paused this movie three minutes from the end to write this review.... all the opportunies to take possession of the gun from crazy Claire they did nothing so far... I mean like, she's giving labor and knocked out yet Claire doesn't take the gun in the endless loop of chances.... Rachel whacks Claire with a board and she falls to the ground. Instead of kicking the gun away from her she does nothing.

Ok back to the final three minutes.... will they get the gun from a pregnant chasing Claire???? Or does Claire prevail and marries Rachel's husband and live happily ever after?

This is a really silly movie!!

Robin & Yennie Killin' It.
johnrjohnson30 October 2021
This is a movie about relationships, and the toxic relationship between Ashlynn Yennie's and Diane Robin's characters is tense and explosive. They deliver some real fireworks in "Deadly Due Date". And, from now on, I'll be a lot more careful about how I load the dishwasher.

"We have a deep connection." "Since when?"
CranberriAppl2 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Favorite line in the movie, and the delivery was perfect. "I'm sorry. My baby needs me." is a close second. Sometimes the camp is done just right. This movie was ok. Watchable on a Friday night after a long work week. The main thing I wasn't impressed with was that there was a body count. Claire's obsession with Bill did not justify murder for me, and seeing a pregnant woman claim victims, and struggle with other characters was a bit much. The scene at the end where Bill finds out how nuts she is could have totally still happened w/o needing to have victims. When you think about it, they all knew each other, she was allowing them to adopt the baby and they clearly were going to allow her to be around him, it might have been more interesting for her to do more psychological warfare than active killing. The tension was already baked in since the movie's POV was that Rachel couldn't bear children. The killing was just so nonsensical. In what world would Bill have been with Claire after she murders his mother? I think the movie could have been more like The Hand that Rocks the Cradle (my favorite movie to compare Lifetime flicks to) in that Peyton tried to push Claire (heh) out of her own family and Claire had to fight for her husband and children.

I didn't really care for how quickly Bill took Claire's and his mother's side over his wife's, but that's par for the course for these movies, so it feels like wasted energy to dwell on it. But one would think that given the emotional distress of not being able to have a baby, it would be harder for someone they don't really know to cause so much trouble. I also hate when characters die and it gets glossed over. Particularly when that character holds importance to the protag (s). The kid's future grandma gets murdered (in the house btw) and it's just another plot point.

But I did watch the whole movie. The little munchkin was too cute. I'm glad the villain got their just rewards and didn't get away. That ending ruins so many of these movies.

Diane Robin is a Star to Watch!

Loved watching Deadly Due Date, the best Lifetime movie I have seen. The whole cast is wonderful, and Diane Robin is exceptional. She is a delight to watch! Someone should give this woman her own series.

Ashlynn!!!!!
haroot_azarian8 March 2022
Classic Lifetime formula: 1-dumb clueless husband, 2-cops never around and if so, fingerprints do not exist in these movies, 3-psycho pregnant woman who is about to pop in a few weeks with superhuman power. Anyway Ashlynn was the star of this movie, scr-w he rest!!

Grab your popcorn and settle in for a well done Lifetime movie!

The cast did a great job. I especially enjoyed watching Diane Robin play the mother-in-law. She is usually making me laugh but In this movie she has a very powerful performance. Moral of the story.... Be careful who you let stay in your guest room!

One of Lifetime's best thrillers in 2021!
Chartreuse11 November 2021
Rachel and Bill have been married 8 years and still trying to have a baby, Their 15-yr high school class reunion is coming up and Claire had a crush on Bill in high school, still does, and is pregnant! They end up consenting to adopt her baby since the father is MIA and makes their lives a living HELL so she can get Bill to be the new baby-Daddy! This was a well-written and well-acted Lifetime movie and you don't want to miss. Definitely recommended!!!

Some things were off...

Warning: Spoilers
I actually loved the movie. Only giving it a 7 because of a few bits at the end:

1) when Claire shot Rachel, Rachel had quite the limp and could barely get away from her in a timely manner. Then once Rachel let Claire fall, her limp disappeared? Weird.

2) Rachel never went for the gun. Not once. Like someone else said, Rachel had plenty of opportunities. That would be my first grab after knocking Claire out.

Other than that, it was a good movie. I am sick of the husbands never siding with their wives though.
