Alessia Cara ruminates on future peace and embraces sadness on her new song “Not Today.” “Someday I won’t be afraid of my head/ Someday I will not be chained to my bed,” the pop singer croons over breezy, buzzing synths. “Someday I’ll forget the day he left/ But surely not today.” The arrangement is deceptively detailed, weaving in palm-muted guitar riffs, sampled drum loops, acoustic strums and a bridge section that her lyric video describes as a “funky (but still sad) breakdown.”

2017-07-31T07:26:43-07:00Rihanna Responds to Body Shamers
Not today! Rihanna had the perfect response to a body shamer who criticized her recent weight gain.
The "Love on the Brain" singer, 29, was spotted buying a bunch of snacks during a recent stop to the convenience store. "They ain't got no Ruffles," she told her friends, as seen in a video reposted on a fan's Instagram account.
"You just walked in the store and in two minutes you already got four snacks!" a female friend behind the camera said as Rihanna walked around with a handful of treats, including Cheetos, Pringles and Apple Jacks cereal.
"You're judging her. Stop judging her!" the Barbados native's best friend Melissa Forde interjected.
After several trolls wrote hateful comments about Rihanna's weight in the video, she simply laughed it off. "Somebody called me too fat?" she responded, adding three crying laughing emojis.

Celebrities on the red carpet are typically the pictures of perfection, swanning before the hordes of cameras in their couture gowns with their glam turned up to eleven and a general aura of total nonchalance. As we all know, however, appearances can be deceiving, and more often than not those flawless moments don’t convey all of the hard work, sweat, and subzero temperatures they had to walk through in sleeveless dresses to get there. Such was the case on Tuesday night at the Time 100 Gala in New York City as celebrities battled a rainstorm and some serious gusts of...

Chrissy Teigen isn't letting a storm steal her shine.
The 31-year-old model made her way through wind and rain in New York City on Tuesday night after the Time 100 Gala, where her husband, John Legend, was being honored. With the help of a security guard holding an umbrella, Teigen turned that rain-soaked sidwalk into a runway. Wardrobe malfunction, be damned! She even embraced the strong wind and let the sky-high slit of her strapless golden gown flow free.

She later joked about the snap on Instagram, writing: "Not today, Satan!"
Earlier that night, the Cravings author and her hubby struck a pose with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds inside the gala -- and of course, she showed off a little adorable Pda with her man. As usual, couple goals!

Two things were clear on Shades of Blue Season 2 Episode 6.
There’s no turning back, and nothing is off limits.
Woz even had Julia arrange a late night meeting in the woods with Bianchi to negotiate getting Harley’s gun back.
Nothing good happens in the woods after midnight.
Harlee Permalink: Nothing good happens in the woods after midnight. Added: April 08, 2017
Especially when you’re meeting mobsters about stolen weapons.
Just when it looked like Bianchi might be willing to budge, Woz got his hackles up and it all fell apart. There was far too much testosterone flowing through that meeting for either party to back down.
At least that meant the hunt for Caroline’s killer was still on, and the investigation took some intriguing turns.
Tess: Are you two ever going to tell me what you did to piss off this overstuffed cannoli?

Ian McShane? More like Ian McShade! The British star appeared on Game of Thrones for one lousy (okay, it was pretty good, but regardless) episode and not only does he appear to not respect the fans, he also seems to reckon he can tell them what to do. And what do we say to the Lord of Shade? "Not today!" McShane made his debut as Brother Ray on HBO's cult fantasy series last summer. Months earlier, he had angered many viewers who hate spoilers when he revealed in interviews what they felt was too much info about his role and the plot line and also teased the return of a character. "Can you believe it? 'Oh, you're...

John Wick: Chapter 2 turns a familiar page in Keanu Reeves’ cartoonish assassin franchise. Back are the stylized “Gun Fu” battles, lavish locales and adorable dogs (who are safe this time), like some Mmo violence-fetish video game. Pacifists be warned – infinite henchmen feed John Wick’s cold, calculated bodycount. Those of you growing tired of head-exploding finishers will find little value in this savage, blood-soaked sequel. Thugs simply line-up to be blasted by Wick’s deadshot aim. The titular hitman appears invincible as he endures stab wounds and gunshot impacts, displaying little vested interest in portraying death for what it is – but goddamn if Chapter 2 isn’t more gorgeous body-snapping brutality.

Warning: Spoilers ahead if you don’t want to find out what was revealed today at “The Walking Dead’s” New York Comic-Con panel.
“The Walking Dead” fans have been waiting since spring to find out who succumbed to “Lucille.” Now, at the very least, we know who didn’t.
Producers unveiled a new teaser from the show’s upcoming Season 7 premiere, and it’s quite a doozy. A growling Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), carrying Lucille – his barbed-wire baseball bat, now dripping with blood – has just killed one of the show’s characters. And things don’t look so good for another one. If you’re in the United States, you can watch below. (International readers, scroll to the bottom of this post.)

When Phelps took gold on Tuesday in the 200-meter butterfly (by 4/100ths of a second!) he celebrated his victory with a gesture that has become very familiar at the 2016 Rio Games - the finger wag. U.S. swimmer Lilly King first demonstrated the move following the women's 100-meter breaststroke semifinals on Sunday. The athlete finger-wagged Russian competitor Yulia Efimova - who failed a doping test earlier this year - after Efimova finished first in her heat. "You're shaking your finger number one and you've been caught for drug cheating. I'm just not a fan," King told NBC at the time.

The CEO of AMC Entertainment caused a stir this week when he suggested that the AMC Theatres chain could soon allow texting during movies in order to cater to a millennial audience. Now, following an online uproar, that proposal has been definitively dropped.
The hubbub began when new AMC CEO Adam Aron told Variety that the theater chain wanted to attract more younger viewers, and was considering devoting specific sections of screenings -- or even entire auditoriums -- to texting devotees.

Sarah Leonor Discovers a Great Man
By Terry Keefe
Writer/director Sarah Leonor is one of France's most exciting new cinematic exports. Her latest film, The Great Man (Le Grand Homme), is an extraordinary drama depicting the traumas of war and immigration, and how they ricochet, opens on Friday, August 14 in New York at the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Elinor Bunin Theater, then platforms wider on September 4. Starring Jérémie Rénier (The Dardenne Brothers' Palme D’or Winner L’Enfant), The Great Man is a powerful story about friendship and solidarity and takes a closer look at how men try to piece their lives back together when they’ve been shattered by war.
Hamilton (Jérémie Rénier) and Markov (Surho Sugaipov) are about to finish five years of service in the Foreign Legion. During their six-month posting in Afghanistan, they wind up amidst a crossfire while out on an impromptu and unauthorized leopard hunt.

Cannes Film Festival general delegate Thierry Frémaux is to present a screening of Lumière! - and will provide live commentary himself - at the 6th Odessa International Film Festival (July 10-18).
The selection of 98 restored films, directed by movie pioneer Louis Lumière and his cameramen, will be screened internationally for the first time following its Cannes premiere.

It forms part of the line-up of the festival, which also announced the 12 films in the international competition and six features (and 18 shorts) in the national competition.

Seriously, why mess with silver-fox perfection? But still, George Clooney fields questions about why he doesn't dye his hair, which has been gray for over a decade now. And his answer, like so many of his answers, makes sense. "Not today, I'm not," the Tomorrowland star actually joked right off the bat when asked about the process of "aging gracefully." "I will say that there's nothing fun—and I know for actresses it's infinitely worse because of public perception based on nothing except studios not hiring them and those sorts of things—but I think for all of us, you have to come to terms with getting older and not trying to fight it," Clooney told the...

Broad City, Season 2, Episode 9, “Coat Check”
Written by Paul W. Downs & Lucia Aniello
Directed by Jeff Tomsic
Airs Wednesdays at 10:30pm Et on Comedy Central
As practically every one of these reviews mentions, the power of Broad City comes from the power of the bond between Abbi and Ilana. Their friendship is closer than most, stronger, more understanding, and affectionate. It’s the kind of thing we should strive to achieve in our own lives. It’s strange, then, that one of the series’ best episodes is one where they replace each other with equally glorious guest stars.
Neither ends up having quite the experience they imagined, but both are absurd amounts of fun. Ilana meets her doppelgänger in Alia Shawkat (Maeby on Arrested Development), and immediately falls in love. This makes sense, because Ilana is deeply in love with herself, but she doesn’t even consciously realize how similar they look at first.

Fans of Milla Jovovich may have cause for concern regarding her latest character: The Resident Evil actress is circling a new fantasy-adventure film based on a story by the Game of Thrones mastermind, George R.R. Martin! Will she be able to tell the Literary God of Death, "Not today?" It looks like we shall certainly find out when Jovovich finalizes negations to appear in this new Martin adaptation. According to a THR report, Jovovich is finalizing a deal that will have her star in the fantasy epic In the Lost Lands. The film is based on a 1982 short story of the same name by Martin, collected in the volume, Amazons II and will supposedly showcase three separate stories about female protagonists set in a romanticized magical, mystical world of warriors, witches, dragons and other various supernatural creatures. In other words, it will certainly be a "Red Wedding" for the ...

Sometimes a trip to the hardware store has nothing to do with Diy projects around the house.Universal just released the first clip from "Fifty Shades of Grey," showing billionaire S&M aficionado Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) visiting Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) at her place of employment ... where he picks up some rope, cable ties and masking tape."You're the complete serial killer," Johnson says at the end of the clip. "Not today," replies Dornan, who coincidentally played a serial killer on the recent BBC series "The Fall."While the clip only hints at some of the kinky action between the sheets, a new report from the Sunday Times says the film had its fair share of steamy scenes.Sex scenes reportedly make up 1/5th of the 100 minute film, clocking in at 20 minutes of the good stuff.Check out another sneak peek from the flick below, as some additional content...

Let’s play a game: Look through Amber Rose‘s Instagram selfies and try not to focus on her boobs. You won’t be able to do it, and we don’t blame you. She has the most magical breasts on the Internet.
Rose’s ta-tas can’t help but take center stage in her selfies. They’re just too beautiful (and, well, big). Anytime she’s like, “I’m going to take a selfie and make sure people focus on my face,” her boobs say, “Not today!” and manage to steal her thunder. We’re convinced her breasts can and will solve the world’s problems.
If you’re in the mood to be totally mesmerized, take a voluptuous stroll through these 20 selfies of Rose where her gosh darn boobs keep upstaging her! (Don’t you hate it when that happens?)

Eileen Davidson organized a poker party on Tuesday's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and any time the wives have a game night you can bet it's not going to end well.
Things got off to shaky start at a spa day Kyle Richards organized.
"If Eileen can be in a van with Brandi Glanville after getting a glass of wine thrown in her face, I guess I can, too," said Lisa Vanderpump.
Things got shakier when a luncheon turned into wine tasting, something that made Richards and her sister, Kim – who entered rehab in 2012 and is now sober – uncomfortable.

Just in case there was any doubt: NBC has no plans to work with Bill Cosby. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever. The troubled comedian's planned NBC comedy project was canceled in November, and today, NBC president Robert Greenblatt told reporters that he can't see the network working out another deal in the future. When asked if it's safe to say NBC wouldn't work with Cosby again, Greenblatt quipped, "I think it's safe to say." As for why the network decided to pull the plug on Cosby's planned sitcom return, and why it wasn't done immediately after the first sexual assault allegation, Greenblatt explained, "Fifteen women came out and accused [Bill Cosby] of...

There are hard jobs out there. World leaders, brain surgeons, people who clean fast food restaurant bathrooms — plenty of jobs that involve the kind of work and pressure we wouldn’t wish on anyone. But one fairly thankless, plenty soul-sucking job, one that affects all of us denizens of celebrity gossip on a near-daily basis, is the public relations flack responsible for the image of a celebrity. And this year, they had their work cut out for them.
Let’s celebrate the most successful.

There is only one God, and his name is Death. And there is only one thing we say to Death: “Not today.” As it happens, the leading stars of Game of Thrones uttered those words in a roundabout way earlier today, after members of the cast signed on for a seventh season of the hit HBO epic.
In a post by The Hollywood Reporter, the outlet details the specifics of the deal, which states that, while the majority of characters had a contract that extended for six seasons, following some negotiations, the option for a seventh season had been added as a footnote — and a pretty expensive one at that.
Further in the report it was revealed that the network amped up the salaries of the so-called “A” tier, making that group of actors some of the highest paid stars on cable TV. If you want to avoid spoilers for Game of Thrones,...

What do we say to bullying? Not today… Maisie Williams signs up for Channel 4’s Cyber Bully.
When it comes to dealing with bullying, sticking them with the pointy end (however tempting), is not the best solution.
However, Maisie Williams of Game Of Thrones, has been snapped up by Channel 4 to front their new drama Cyber Bully.
The Aryra Stark actress will play Casey, the victim of the eponymous, and anonymous, cyber bully. The show has been described as a single location real-time thriller, inspired by real events.
"It is one of the most important purposes of Channel 4 to find new ways of engaging young audiences with the cyber world and the stories that play out on the internet, said Channel 4's Head of Documentaries Nick Mirsky.
"[Cyber Bully] does exactly that in a way that is gripping, relevant and fiercely public service," she added.

How do you rank perfection? Duncan has a go, as he lists the top 25 Jason Statham films...
For regular Den Of Geek readers, it will come as little surprise to see this list come round. We've chosen our favourite Statham films before, but such is the productivity of the great man, it was decided that a mere top ten was no longer large enough to contain his ever growing body of work. Last time I mentioned updating this piece to the man himself back in 2012 due to his insane workload, he cracked up and responded, “My productivity is overwhelming! 'Have a fucking day off!'”
Since this list has now expanded to encompass 25 of his movies, it seemed only right to include multiple sequels, with his big trio of action franchises all spawning some thoroughly entertaining fare worthy of mention, though I’ve tried to exclude the personal bias that...

1942’s Casablanca has repeatedly been canonized as the best film Hollywood ever made. Its iconic dialogue produced a bevy of quotable lines that sealed seated their seemingly eternal place in movie culture, and it’s damn near impossible to refer to Humphrey Bogart’s iconic career without bringing to mind his worn mug reminiscing to Dooley Wilson’s iteration of “As Time Goes By” in his empty bar’s depths of night. Never has Bogie been so tragically Bogie, or, for that matter, Bergman so classically Bergman, Rains so nobly Rains, Lorre so campily Lorre, and the film’s team of studio scribes so harmoniously in tune towards a pitch-perfect example of Hollywood narrative convention. Given the vaunted reputation of Casablanca, it’s strange that the film’s director, Michael Curtiz, is so often obscured within observations of its notable ensemble, much less considered the film’s reigning auteur. Among all the beloved directors of Classical Hollywood...

Draft Day opens in the month prior to the actual 2014 NFL draft. So, Hollywood gets an “A” for timing the release just right. Fans of the NFL are primed for just this sort of film since the pre-season games of August still feel so impossibly far away after a long, cold winter.
Regrettably, this is an uneven film that will only satisfy the hard-core NFL fan. Draft Day was directed by Ivan Reitman who is an undeniable talent as a director from 1980. Not today. It was written by Scott Rothman in his writing debut and by Rajiv Joseph who is credited with writing only three individual television episodes. Draft Day could have used a much deeper bench on the writing staff. Rookies make rookie mistakes.
