Sharper is a thriller movie directed by Benjamin Caron with Julianne Moore, Sebastian Stan, Justice Smith, Briana Middleton and John Lithgow.
An elegant and very classic thriller you can enjoy this Friday on Apple TV+.
This movie knows how to balance a slow technique, brilliant actors and classic plot which is totally familiar.
Movie Review
A paused rhythm for this movie about tricksters that is totally predictable and yet manages to fool us from its direct title and its “film noir” look, studied and elegant: it does not bring us anything new and does not promise to do so either, but the entire setting, the characters and its giddy calm rhythm knows how to work with precision to do the exact thing it needs to do at each moment, without getting lost or trying to invent something new.
Needless to say that this movie would not be anything if Julianne...

For years, Michelle Williams has chosen interesting, immersive roles that showcase her versatility and talent as an actor. An award-winning performer, she has been honored by her peers with two Golden Globe Awards and an Emmy Award. While Williams has prioritized roles in dark, independent dramas, she has also appeared in big-budget movies with star-studded casts. Most recently, she acted in The Fabelmans, Steven Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical film that earned high marks from critics and viewers. In a recent interview, Williams revealed how excited she was to work with Spielberg on the film. Though she initially “couldn’t imagine” the iconic director would want to cast her.
What role does Michelle Williams play in ‘The Fabelmans’?
The Fabelmans tells the story of a young boy named Sam Fabelman, who is inspired to make movies by the magical worlds and situations that he sees in films at his local theater. The Fabelmans...

In the 28-year history of the Screen Actors Guild Awards, only one performer has nabbed three lead statuettes for film: Daniel Day-Lewis, who prevailed for “Gangs of New York” (2002), “There Will Be Blood” (2007) and “Lincoln” (2012). But he might soon have to share that title with none other than the queen of the SAG Awards herself, Viola Davis, who previously won for “The Help” (2011) and “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” (2020), and is now looking to, uh, get away with that record-tying third victory with “The Woman King.”
Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and inspired by real events, “The Woman King” is about an elite military unit of all-female warriors called the Agojie that protected the West African kingdom of Dahomey in the 18th and 19th centuries. Set in 1823, the historical epic stars Davis as Nanisca, a feared but revered seasoned warrior and the Agojie’s commander-in-chief who has quietly risen in the ranks to a level of power.

On Jan. 24, the comedy-drama scored 11 Oscar nominations, including one for best picture. Each of the core cast members, who are all first-time Oscar nominees, earned individual recognitions for their performances: Michelle Yeoh made history as the first Asian best actress nominee, Ke Huy Quan is up for best supporting actor, and both Stephanie Hsu and Jamie Lee Curtis were honored in the best supporting actress category.
In addition, writing-directing duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheiner, also known as the Daniels, were nominated for best director and original screenplay. Centering an Asian American immigrant family, the film also received nods for its original score, costume design, and film editing.

Director Rob Reiner's 1986 coming-of-age film "Stand By Me" elicits emotional themes of mortality and self-preservation. Audiences follow four friends in 1956 who venture on a journey through the rural parts of Castle Rock, Maine to find a dead body. The screenplay is adapted from Stephen King's novella, "The Body" which spotlights the characters' abusive and dysfunctional family backgrounds as they ponder their own shortcomings living in a town that seems to erode away at their future. Previously coming off of the comedic satire "This is Spinal Tap", Reiner embraced a project where he can showcase multi-dimensional characters in order to create nuance. However, one scene was particularly difficult to film because the child actors were not generating enough fear so a normally calm and collected Reiner upped the stakes.

Raise a pint: the Golden Globes are (reportedly) coming back to NBC. Despite the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s very public falling out of favor, the return of the Golden Globe Awards as a telecast are certainly no shocker — not when you consider the TV ratings.
The January 5, 2020 Golden Globes hosted by Ricky Gervais earned 18.4 million live viewers, according to Nielsen, down just a hair from 2019’s 18.6 million total viewers. In 2019, the last full year without the Covid pandemic upending production, the Globes were NBC’s number-one non-sports telecast of the entire year. By comparison, just 11 of the 18 “Sunday Night Football” games — the most-watched regular primetime-tv series each season — scored larger audiences than the Andy Samberg- and Sandra Oh-hosted year.
Gervais’ swan song as emcee would be the last normal Golden Globe Awards. The Covid-impacted ceremony in 2021, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, managed just 7 million viewers...

Next year's Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday, Jan. 13, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced on Tuesday. The Globes will take place slightly earlier than usual, two days before Oscar nominations are announced. The decision to hold the ceremony before Oscar nominations solves what could have been a significant problem caused by the Academy's earliest-ever date -- and by new Oscar campaign rules that might have prevented film studios from throwing Globes parties. Golden Globes weekend is typically one of the biggest party weekends on the awards circuit, but new AMPAS regulations severely restrict parties that take place post-nomination -- including, for the first time, parties connected to another awards show. The Jan. 13 date puts the Globes two weekends before the Producers Guild and Screen Actors Guild Awards, and three before the Directors Guild. Typically, the Critics Choice Movie Awards take place a few days before the Globes; the Broadcast Film Critics Association has yet to announce the timing for that show. Golden Globe nominations will be announced on Thursday, Dec. 13.

With such blockbusters as "Avatar," "The Hangover," "The Blind Side" and "Sherlock Holmes" dominating the main categories Sunday night at the 67th annual Golden Globes, the award show gained in the ratings compared with last year's telecast.
Airing live on both coasts for the first time, the Globes drew 16.9 million viewers and a 5.4 rating among adults 18-49, according to early, time zone-adjusted estimates. That's up a healthy 10% from last year and marks NBC's best rating in the time period, excluding sports, in five years.
A rare last-minute switch in the NFL schedule deprived the new Fox drama "Human Target" of the big Nfc Divisional playoff game lead-in the network had planned.
As a self-starter at 8 p.m. and up against the Globes, the preview of "Target" was seen by 10.1 million viewers and generated a somewhat decent 2.9 rating in 18-49, less than what Fox's animated comedies average in the hour and...

If the various awards telecasts were guests at a party, the Golden Globes would be the life of it. You know what we mean…over the course of the annual awards cycle, we expect Oscar to bring the glamour, the VMAs to bring the scandal, and the Bet Hip-Hop Awards to bring the cops. But the Globes telecast is freewheeling, unfettered, well-lubricated. It threatens to catch us off guard by dancing on a table with a lampshade on its head, perhaps while saying something that makes revered Oscar frown and seethe as he swirls the cubes in his tumbler of scotch. It’s a riot because it keeps everyone’s wine glasses full.
Last night, however, our old pal Golden seemed hung over before he even hit the door. The telecast felt…...

Photo: Hollywood Foreign Press Association The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards were held tonight and it's hard to say there were very many surprises as much as there were disappointments. Of course, I think the fact a film like Sherlock Holmes gets recognized for an award while The Hurt Locker goes home empty-handed is a complete sham. I believe Avatar is worthy of awards, but technical awards, which it will win at the Oscars, but since those aren't handed out at the Globes it means the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (Hfpa) feels the need to dote on it in categories where others are more deserving.
Avatar took home Best Picture (Drama) and director James Cameron won over the presumptive winner Kathryn Bigelow. This only causes agitation for me personally, because the whole show continued celebrity love while the smaller more deserving names were consistently overlooked.

The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards begin tonight on NBC at 8 Est. Stick around and chat about it below. Mock, celebrate, and complain. It's the Pajiba way!
If you're looking to spice up the Globes, here's a few drinking cues:
-- Drink whenever someone takes a shot at NBC over the late-night mess. Two drinks if the mention of Jay Leno elicits boos.
-- Drink whenever there's a reaction shot of Angelina Jolie.
-- Drink whenever Ricky Gervais laughs maniacally.
-- Drink whenever there's a lame joke that makes reference to Avatar.
-- Drink whenever you see a commercial for "Chuck."
-- Self-immolate if Sandra Bullock wins out over Meryl Streep in any category.
-- Drink if anyone on stage is drunker than you are.
That should about take you to the first commercial break, before you completely pass out in a puddle of your own beer vomit.

Fox's freshman comedy "Glee" broke the industry's TV awards-show gridlock, overthrowing two-time winner "30 Rock" at the 67th annual Golden Globes Awards on Sunday.
"Glee" won the Globes' suddenly appropriately titled "comedy or musical" series category, taking home the award along with fellow freshman series winner Julianna Margulies for CBS' legal drama "The Good Wife."
"I would like to thank all the wonderful people who actually thought a musical would work on primetime television," "Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy said. "This show is about a lot of things, it's about the importance of arts education. This is for anybody and everybody who got a wedgie in high school."
"30 Rock" and "Mad Men" have ruled the series categories at the Globes and Emmys in recent years, with "Mad Men" scoring another best drama award Sunday night.
"I am very surprised," "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner said. "Television is amazing right now. My TiVo is burned out.
