Netflix's first animated series from Italy.
Michele Rech, known as Zerocalcare, is an Italian cartoonist. His pen name, literally meaning "zero limescale", was inspired by an Italian TV commercial jingle for a descale product because he had to choose a nickname to quickly join a discussion on Internet.
Zerocalcare, the author, said that he put his entire musical world inside the series, including punk. Even in his comics, he has always indicated as notes the songs to listen while reading. He said that he's not sure about how many people actually followed these directions, but he could impose them on the public for his series.
Michele Rech, Italian cartoonist and writer and director of "Strappare lungo i bordi", follows the a particular lifestyle known as 'straight edge' (a philosophy of life stemming from hardcore punk), which envisages abstinence from the consumption of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs.
Michele Rech, Italian cartoonist and writer and director of "Strappare lungo i bordi", was born from an Italian father and a French mother. While he was born in Italy, he spent the very early years of his life in France and, later, when he moved to Italy, he joined Lycée Chateaubriand, a French school in Rome. There are many references in "Strappare lungo i bordi" about his bilingualism, including the presence of a song from the French band Fauve.
