Episode 5 tells the story of Simon. Simon to me is the most interesting character on the show. He is very sympathetic, being treated as an outsider and constantly picked on. But, he is also one of the most sinister characters. You could easily imagine him as a villain if he goes too far in the wrong direction. This episode has Sally acting interested in Simon in attempts to seduce him and learn the truth about her missing fiancée. Great performances by the actors and the characters, lead us to question whether Sally really cares about Simon. Their relationship is rather sweet, and we can easily see why Simon falls for it. We also learn the truth behind Simon's attempted house burning. This is hilarious, but also defines Simon as the sinister but caring Misfit. Meanwhile, Nathan is unusually caring toward a small boy. This is a rather comical side story, which fills the time nicely. This episode really does crank up the tension to a phenomenal amount. We understand Sally, and she isn't so much a villain, but we also know the truth. This means we both want this to end well for Simon and Sally, but know that's pretty much impossible. It's a beautifully tragic end.
