A very realistic episode about obsessions
bellino-angelo20144 March 2021
When the episode begins Stan becomes upset for the fact that Hayley wants to go to a concert and tries to stop her in various ways; dressing up as a spider, faking being ill and so on. However one day Stan finds out that she went to the concert without his permission and he decides to go undercover as a CIA agent. However, instead of hating the music he becomes ''raptured'' and feels much much better and positive than when he came there. The next day he becomes obsessed with the band My Morning Straitjacket and he arrives to skip work and forget everything around him: he puts Klaus in a sandwich, he lets Francine being strangled by the vacuum cleaner's wire, and even spend most of his savings for a CD of the group's frontman gargling in the bathroom. Stan has even the idea to go with Roger on the tour of the band and follow them on their van, but the security kicks them off and they even lose their car in the process. Francine has then the idea of dressing up as a fan and manages to let Stan go in the frontman's dressing room and after the encounter, Stan returns to normal!

Probably the main reason why I loved this episode so much is because Stan's obsession is portrayed in a realistic way as these sorts of obsessions can happen to everybody (and I had a similar experience once) and it shows the viewer what could happen if you develop these sort of obsessions on your own. The songs were very nice tho and I could understand why Stan was so obsessed with them. Another worth watching episode.
