The Vengeance Formulation (#3.9)

Warning: Spoilers
Howard not sure he wants to be with Bernadette because he is hoping for some hot actress was a good story. Especially how he was trying to get Bernadette. His proposal was just crazy and the song at the end was funny, glad Bernadette liked it! Sheldon and Kripke story was also fun. Kripke is such a fun character and I loved the prank he played on Sheldon. Sheldon mentioning his friends in the video after the prank was also a good moment.

Jokery!
Hitchcoc6 October 2021
Howard and Bernadette are ready for a third date, and apparently sex is in the offing. She gives Howard an ultimatum as to what he ultimately has in mind. He goes off, still thinking he will land a fashion model or a movie star, leaving her in the lurch for now. Sheldon, meanwhile, has the honor of appearing on NPR's "Science Friday." Kripke pumps helium gas into the studio, so as the interview goes on, his voice begins to heighten. Sheldon exacts "revenge" in a dramatic way. My question is whether there will be any consequences for what he did.

Hahahaha another good one

Warning: Spoilers
Well, this episode begins a little lame; I must admit. Sheldon isn't that funny in the first scenes, but once he's humiliated on the radio interview, he becomes hilarious just like always. Beside that, there is a well made scene that Howard imagines to be with Megan Fox in the tube, and it's particularly even funnier when she says "I'm not me" hahaha. In the end, Sheldon and his two friends make a revenge on Kripke and Sheldon makes a videotape a-la "Saw". The scene where Howard proposes to Berdanette is so ridiculous that makes it hilarious! We are able to feel ashamed for her and himself. Very good episode for a medium season, go see it!

"The Vengeance Formulation" was another excellent episode of "The Big Bang Theory"
tavm25 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
In this episode of "The Big Bang Theory" from last season: Howard and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) are on their third date when Bernadette asks if he's interested in a relationship or a one-night stand. Howard has to think it over. After discussing it with Leonard and Raj the next morning in the cafeteria of the school they all work, Sheldon comes by and announces he's going to be on NPR for an interview program when they do a live call-in. Actually, Kripke spoils the surprise by sarcastically mentioning it in his Elmer Fudd-speak way beforehand. Oh, and there's an appearance by "Battlestar Galactica"s Katee Sackhoff in a cameo...This was another hilariously and occasionally touching episode of "The Big Bang Theory". It's especially funny when Sheldon's interview happens and what he does about it. And it's nice to see Simon Helberg really stretch his characterization as Wolowitz. Plus his comic singing and piano playing here add a good touch to the proceedings. So that's a recommendation of the episode "The Vengeance Formulation".

Slightly better than the average BBT episode

This episode is slightly better than most BBT episodes. The story between Howard and Bernadette is fun to watch, and can be pretty funny. But it's still just a generic episode.

Leonard was being a Jerk
knightox10 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Maybe it's just me but does anyone think that Leonard was being a complete jerk to poor Howard at the end. First off, if I had a girlfriend who got invited to do something with a roommate and he didn't even bother to mention it to me as a unspoken common courtesy I'd be hacked. Then if he tried to make her feel guilty about him or her not telling you, would really cross the line. Howard even asks Leonard "Why aren't you helping me?!?" He even asks "Why are you "Text Blocking" me?". (the equivalent of saying the crass term "C--- Blocking" in a nicer way. Leonard sarcastically asks Bernadette and Howard if he should leave the room. After Bernadette says no he says "Good, I wasn't going to anyway." with an arrogant smug smile. Nice. Finally Bernadette has the audacity to ask Leonard if she should accept Howard back. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!??!! And then Leonard mentally tortures Howard for a while before he says yes to her but adding one final insult to Howard at the same time. My question is this. Why did Leonard have anything at all in Howard's relationship with Bernadette? Hmm, I don't ever remember Howard trying to "Text Block" Leonard when he was dating Penny. Why?

The Vengeance Formulation

This wasn't a great episode, with the character of Bernadette not really working for me.

I agree with a previous reviewer, Leonard seemed to be acting out of character, and I think they made Sheldon too OTT and childish too.

Kripke isn't my favourite returning character either.

Fine, but skippable.
