The central characters in this episode are enviro-terrorists, one of who is killed while trying to sabotage a project. He, in turn, blames his companion for not rescuing him and proceeds a constant haunting. Meanwhile, the daughter of the friend establishes feeling for Ned. As usual, there are red herrings which only get sorted out in the last 5 minutes.
This is not the writers at their best. Ned gets to develop a love interest but, as with those of his mother, it is dropped and never returned to in subsequent episodes. This is a chronic problem with the series, as characters central to episodes (the man who caused the plane crash, Gabriel) just disappear and are never heard from again.
