Nashville - How much is your child’s love worth?
Kiddie country sensation Taylor Swift is coming to town. Just for kicks I checked Stubhub to see how much people were willing to resell tickets to the sold out show. I nearly threw up my Twinkie when I saw quite a few seats priced at $l,200. That’s not a typo. They are expecting some parent to pay $1,2000 for their kid to see a twig with a blonde wig. Since the kid isn’t of driving age, that means the parent is willing to pay $2,400 to make their kid happy. While the seats were on the floor, they were nearly 50 rows back from the stage.
For that price, I expect to be close enough to the stage to know if Taylor Swift wears panties or a g-string. I want to be close enough to use qualify as her Ob-gyn. I...

Although there aren't really any mega-blockbusters out this week, it's still a jam-packed DVD release day with plenty of titles to choose from including Zombieland starring Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg, Amelia starring Hilary Swank, Cold Souls starring Paul Giamatti, Ong Bak 2 starring Tony Jaa, and the short film anthology New York, I Love You starring... way too many people to list. Also in stores you will find the LeBron James documentary More Than a Game and Ti West's retro horror flick The House of the Devil, which is available not only on DVD and Blu-ray, but also on VHS! Some catalogue titles that are out on Blu-ray for the first time this week include Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Ong-Bak, Walk The Line, and stand alone versions of The Godfather 1 and 2. What will you be Netflixing or buying this week? Zombieland [1] (+ Blu-ray [2]) Amelia [3] (+ Blu-ray [4]) Adam [5] Cold Souls [6] New York,...

Zombieland
Jesse Eisenberg teams up with Woody Harrelson to survive the zombie apocalypse, as the latter sets out to find the last Twinkie on Earth. Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin enter the fray, and, well, as William Goss wrote in his review: "It's a constantly clever comedy whose characters have amusingly direct motives (i.e. Tallahassee wants a Twinkie above all else) that disguise some genuine losses, and most of the gags stem from their relationships -- coward vs. cowboy, gals undermining guys -- above general (albeit welcome) irreverence." Buy it.

Amelia
Hilary Swank's Amelia Earhart biopic is now hitting the shelves, detailing her love of George Putnam (Richard Gere), and the advances of one Mr. Gene Vidal (Gore Vidal's dad, played by Ewan McGregor). Jette Kernion wrote that the film: "succeeds in portraying the famous aviatrix in a whole new...

As an addendum to my last post… Whether you appreciate this kind of material or not, you probably should at least know that it exists, and is quite prevalent. In fact, given how ubiquitous they are, you probably know someone who’s a fan! There’s obviously a market that’s hungry for this kind of product, and there are content producers taking full advantage of that fact.
And there’s apparently enough money in them that they can attract some Hollywood players to star in their productions – not necessarily big name stars, but recognizable faces for sure, as this post, and the one before this, show.
Here’s another one of thousands – this one starring Boris Kodjoe & Vivica Fox, and Richard Rountree, also just out on DVD, titled, Whatever She Wants. Ok, I won’t post any more of these...
