The Research

During the reception of a Jewish wedding, only the descendant from a Holocaust survivor die. The Fringe Division is assigned to investigate and Dr. Bishop suspects that the action is part of a scientific experiment with a toxin and another specific group will die. When the clients of a diner with brown eyes die, Walter confirms the signature of his father with a seahorse in the formula. Walter also recalls the research of his father in Germany and seek his books that have hidden formulae of researches carried out by him. However Peter discloses that he sold the books to a bookstore. Now the only chance to stop the murder spree seems to be to locate the buyer's whereabouts.

"The Bishop Revival" is another episode of "Fringe" where Dr. Bishop steals the show and resolves the case. Peter feels embarrassed and regrets his action in the past when his father was in the asylum. Olivia this time has a minor participation. The plot is well concluded with Dr. Bishop's revenge. My vote is eight.

I really enjoy dramatic presentations where the bad guys are done in by their own weaponry. Here, several Jewish people die as a wedding is about to begin. Standing in the back is a subdued man with glasses, who is recognized by a grandmother, a Holocaust survivor. He has released a toxin through a candle. But there it gets even more interesting. Someone has been working on a poison that can single out genetic traits, like hair color, eye color, etc. This would allow the Aryan race to become full by eliminating all non-Aryans. Bishop realizes that his father, a research genius, who did counter intelligence in Germany, may have had formulas that contributed to this mad man. Peter, in his youth, with all his troubles, sold books that had information in them, while Walter was in the mental hospital. Walter feels betrayed by his son. This episode is well plotted and satisfactorily portrayed.

my favorite all time episode Warning: Spoilers
There was a famous film a while back called "Revenge of the Nerds" which became a surprise hit and spawned a series of sloppy sequels.

What appealed most in that film was the notion that even nerds who eschew violence and avoid confrontation can become dangerous if annoyed.

In this wonderful episode, we watch John Noble's often-besieged character, Walter Bishop, who has put up with so many indignities in the series to date including, among other things, having bits of his brain stolen.

Yet, through it all, he has maintained true to his core beliefs of right and wrong.

In this episode, it is bad enough that Walter's own father's work is being used to kill. However, when the "unsub" goes so far as to break into Walter's house and steal some of Walter's DNA to make a targeted killing gas meant just for Walter, we see a rare glimpse of what happens when you anger a man who seldom succumbs to anger.

Excellent.

Warning: Spoilers
Craig Robert Young is "Alfred Hoffman" - A man who is a shadow from Walter's father's past.

Hoffman shows up at the "Milton-Staller" wedding - Which obviously is a Jewish Wedding - And is recognized by the Matriarch of the Staller family as a face that looks very familiar. Unfortunately, she dies before she can say much more about it, in a gruesome way: There was some kind of poison in a cinnamon candle that killed only her and her relatives and offspring.

These strange deaths happen once more to people in a Coffee Shop, but only to people with Brown Eyes. Peter finds the same "cinnamon" residue which Walter identifies as the poison.

At first Walter is only vaguely intrigued by the "Plug-And-Play" death aspects of the compound, until he notices a chemical "Signature": - The form in the Molecule of a SEAHORSE, which was the signature of his father.

At first, Walter is angry at Peter, for selling his father's books to Markham 10 years prior-These books had the formulas that are apparently being used to make targeted poisons, Walter believes that the books may have been used to make the poisons. In fact, there is something more insidious happening, which has nothing to do with the books. Hoffman, seeing how "Walter Bischoff" is close to finding out that he's responsible, lays a poison-trap for Walter by stealing one of his coats (And an Apple from the Fridge - This is about the 3rd time an Apple is being eaten by a Fringe bad Guy-Mitchell Loeb gobbled one up after killing Joanne Ostler).

Peter buys back all of Walter's father's books from the guy Markham had sold them to, who was making a Nazi Collage out of the stuff. But once Walter identifies Hoffman as being the Culprit, he sets up a revenge fitting for Hoffman: And turns the tables on him.

For Walter, there is nothing more important than Family. As damaged as he is he will deal with any threat to either Peter, or the memory of his Father. This episode has Walter reflecting back on his father and also considering the future of Peter. As Hoffman lay dying, he points to Walter and yells "Bischoff-Traitor!" before expiring.

The last thing we see, is one of the books Peter had brought back, lay open, and there are photographs of Walter's Father in his Laboratory in Germany, before he defected to the US: Hoffman can be seen clearly in the Photograph.
