Landing a great punch!
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic13 July 2020
This episode is a terrific, full on battle with superb action , great animation and nice character interplay. It lacks a great villain perhaps which is the only thing I can say could have made it even better but it has very effective peril as our heroes are put in extremely tough situations.

Anakin, Ahsoka, Obi Wan and Ki Adi Mundi lead a mission attempting to destroy the droid factories on Geonosis and come up against far mightier opposition than they seem to have expected.

The battle scenes are worthy additions to the Star Wars battles of the movies and the animation is at its very best for early Clone Wars seasons. A really excellent episode.

My rating: 9/10.

Landing at Point Rain

I once said that my favorite episodes in this show were the war episodes, so this was just right up my alley. From the onset of the episode, the feel of the impending battle is there, and as soon as we enter that battle, the episode doesn't let go. Such an epic episode on a technical level, with some of the best cinematography the show has ever had to offer, and some great character moments that were accomplished without feeling incohesive due to some excellent editing. Nothing in the episode dragged, and I can't express how much fun it is to just watch these big war scenarios play out on the screen. Geonosis has become quite known for its destructive battle sequences in "Star Wars" and this entire episode brought a lot of destruction and enjoyment to the table.

The REAL Attack of the Clones

Warning: Spoilers
My oh my. What just happened?

This episode gave me some amaaaaziing thrills!

The first episode of this new story arc brings Anakin & Co. Back to Geonosis to bring down a droid factory. I must say I was not very enthusiastic about the premise, as for me Geonosis was a closed chapter.

And how wrong was I! The production team deservers quite the recognition! They were able to make a super action packed episode, shot in a fantastic way! There were already some strong "battlefield-type" episodes so far, but this one kinda felt it was shot to mimic/honor classic war-like movies (read the Trivia section for more info). From the landing sequence to the destruction of the shield generator, there are moments of brilliance through and through. And how fun it was to listen to Ki Adi Mundi's lines at the end! It's not a story rich episode so to say, but I guess that's something to be developed in the following episodes of this arc.

One other strong point - Geonosis does feel quite real at times! They did a great work in bringing it back to life with this CGI models (it's not Attack of the Clones, but it could fool you :))

I must say that it also sort of portrayed the horrors of war, and that there were some strong scenes for a cartoon that is also aimed at young audiences (like the flamethrower scenes). I'm sure the production team is putting a message out there with it.

Now THIS is a war.

Landing at Point Rain is one of the best and possibly the most intense episode of the entire first three seasons of the show. The animation is great. The music and sound effects are used expertly. The action sequences are incredibly well helmed. It has a relentless pace. Okay fine, I'll stop gushing.

This is why I'm here

Landing at Point Rain is exactly what I went into Clone Wars hoping to see.

If you're like me and you LOVED the battle at the end of Attack of the Clones as well as the clone action in Revenge of the Sith, this is precisely what you love to see.

I'd love to have seen this as a feature length movie, especially live action.

Just 22 minutes filled with Dust, Lasers, Bugs and Death, making this the most Amazing Episode in the first two and a half seasons. The sheer Terror of war had me hooked as a kid and it still does every time I rewatch it.

Despite good war episode, i feel sorry for the Geonisians

As a child I became used to it that the Jedi slaughtered random enemies, particularly living beings. But now I realise more and more how cruel the Star Wars war actually is. Those poor geonosians ;( killed like flies

Nevertheless good action and a nice gathering of Jedi

Lazy writing

Ki-Adi-Mundi says that there is no such thing as luck when leaving the ship, then 5 minutes later says with any luck we will meet up with Kenobis forces. Really annoyed me because it both situations those lines were completely unnecessary and the writers still managed to contradict themselves.
