This series could have been - should have been - the best police drama ever produced by French TV. Conceived (and directed at the start) by the deeply talented Olivier Marchal, ex cop and great filmmaker, Braquo was supposed to get to a new level, as far as French series are concerned. It was intended to be a hit. It's just a terrible miss. Photography is quiet good, editing is competent and music is interesting. The rest is horrible. Characters are inconsistent, they only manage to look sad all the time and to say dirty words every other sentence. They are so cartoonish, pretentious and ugly, that - after one or two episodes - you can't care a damn about what's happening to them. You eventually wish they could die so others - better ones! - could maybe replace them. Hope is all you have. Actors are ridiculous. They overplay everything, rolling eyes and trying their best to look concerned by the story. They all play the same way! Even the once excellent Jean-Hugues Anglade. Unshaved, gross, depressing. Bad. Bad. Bad. Too bad. The scenarios are plain silliness. Imagine: cops trying to take out a very dangerous cop-killer from the office of an attorney because he knows that they have tried to rob a bank to pay gangsters from central Europa who had kidnapped one of the characters... Sounds confusing? It is. Sounds unbelievable? It definitely is. Above all, this badly written, badly played, series is just boring. For the first 6 episodes, I have tried very hard to "like" Braquo, because I am a fan of Olivier Marchal's work. But, at the end of this first season, I had to get real: I had lost my time. Frenchies have a long way to go to emulate the best US series. A very very long way.

How could not they guess it was a trap? Serge was already saying at first, "do you think is it too simple" something like that but eddy still tries to kill.
They easily took him from prosecutor's office and did not suspect. It was not sensible. So, that is why i give 5 / 10 for the episode.
SEASON REVIEW
After finishing season 2 of millennium series on 2221, I am here. I needed some funny series but could not stop choosing another crime series. I watch series season by season. Normally, i would not watch season 2 of millennium, it was exception. After i finish season 1 of this, i will move to another series.
AFTER EPISODE 1 ON 2221 I dont like cops. They can use their privilige for anything. SO that is why i did not like it so much. In this episode, a cop assaulted a detainee which is suspect of rape. Then he became guilty and then commited suicide. There is another side also of police department. That man who supported that cop was guilty. I think name was roland. Maybe he is in another department or maybe intelligence service. but he is also dirty probably. So 2 dirty sides will fight i think :) AFTER EPISODE 5 ON 4221 Each episode, they go into deeper bad things. I dont know how they managed it :) In the first place, they should not have started this things. District Attorney is also dirty. Maybe dirtier than them. He assaulted the sex worker. so i support cops against attorney. This series is like USA series Shield. Same style, dirty cops. Team with dirty cops is defending each other.
It was good to see again france, after transporter series. I will miss french speaking people. I am not used to it. In transporter series, usually they were speaking english. There was one more common thing, citroen cars :)
It was a hard drama. Cops, in a deep crime chains. Trying to maybe out but first they need to clean. But they go dirtier each episode. They are not innocent, but attorney is also not innocent.
Roxane is in love with eddy but eddy is in love with max's wife.
Next season will be interesting. They need to clarify themselves but it will be hard. Despite they are experienced and they care protect each other well.
Now i need to go to another series because i watch season by season.
I give 7 / 10 for season 1.
