The second series of Being Human had a rather downbeat ending, that isn't to say it wasn't exciting though. As it starts George and Nina are at the lab awaiting their "cure" not knowing that if they go through with it they will almost certainly be killed, likewise George is unaware of Annie's plan to get exorcised. Lucy and Kemp's plans are violently interrupted by Mitchell who's rage has now found a focus. As Mitchell works his way through Kemp's religious henchmen Kemp himself starts to exorcise Lucy and once she is though the door Mitchell is clearly weakened; even though he had Lucy cornered at the time he doesn't kill her. With Annie lost the others leave and go to the country where after three weeks they are found by Lucy who just wants forgiveness and later by Kemp who is out for blood. The ending is quite a surprise and we learn that there is a possibility that Annie can be saved and that an old foe has risen from the dead.
While this series finale was clearly setting things up for the promised third series it provided a nice, and rather bloody, conclusion to the Lucy/Kemp storyline. As always the acting was solid both from the regular cast and the lesser characters. The ending where we hear what is happening to Annie was amongst the most chilling of the series even though there is no violence seen or even described. I can't wait to see the next series and find out if she can be saved.
