Help for a ghost.
Tweekums2 February 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Half way through the second series and things are still gripping. Mitchell is trying to keep the other vampires off blood although it seems the one most in need of it is Ivan, his poster boy for abstinence; I suspect that the other vampires will not take things well when they learn that Mitchell is turning a blind eye to Ivan's needs. Once again Annie has problems with a new ghost trying to take her through the door, luckily Sykes, another ghost, comes to her rescue. She asks him to help her learn how to close the door herself, at first he is reluctant as there are dangers involved but eventually agrees. George is having problems too, thinking he can solve his "monthly problem" he decides to get a cage which works succeeds in keeping the werewolf from roaming, unfortunately it has the side effect of filling him with a constant rage and giving him Tourette's syndrome... not a good thing to have in his new job of teaching English as a foreign language.

I'm surprised that the BBC still describe Being Human as a Comedy-Drama as there aren't exactly a lot of laughs to be had, this is fairly dark for most of the time with just the occasional laugh, although when the funny moments occur they are laugh out loud funny such as when George is buying the cage and it is assumed he wants it for kinky sex. The drama is the main selling point of the series and the more we learn about Kemp and his people the more dramatic it gets.

Mitchell gets darker

Interesting developments of this excellent series. With Mitchell now taking control of the vampire clan with them following him willingly, he sets about creating an 'AA' style meeting process to wean them off blood. But it's a one rule for them, one rule for other scenario with a secret blood supply for the privileged. Meanwhile we learn more about the sinister scientists and that they are not all working toward the same goal. George start to find love in a new job, though his interesting attempts to curb his monthly cycle have an unfortunate side effect. Annie is saved from the 'other side' by a helpful ghost from WW2, though why he is hanging around is left to be discovered.
