Riverdale always was strange show, but at least it was exciting and they managed to close the doors of all plot lines in the previous seasons. This season... doesn't make any sense. Couple bounced from one to another without any development, characters literally changes their professions almost every episode and half of the storylines was long forgotten. I can't shake the feeling that writers changed their mind about the ending at the last moment. Somehow they managed not only mess up timeline, they basically rewrote some of their character's past. Characters don't act like themselves 80% of their time, they change their decisions and act like they're someone else. And witches?
And I really don't want to see a whole season dedicated to people's trauma that ended up with such poorly development. What happened with Betty's ptsd? It was cured by what exactly? Why Jughead who was presented as an alcoholic drinking in the last ep? Where's the whole story about Veronica's helicopter crush? Why none of them ever appeared in school again? Where's Toffee?! What happened to her? How exactly Betty became FBI agent? Wasn't she suspended? Why Hiram's past so different from what we've heard before?
And I can't stop thinking that current writers didn't watch previous seasons - their rewrite of previous storylines is THAT bad. The time jump was exiting at one point but it looks like they gave up completely.
