Bagpipes (#5.6)

Warning: Spoilers
This episode presents us a weird transformation and we see the perfect couple Lily and Marshall being in a constant fight while the relationship incapable Robin and Barney are the best cutie couple.

This was actually fin to watch although it was good when it was over, that was just too weird!.

I couldn't stop laughing when lawyer Marshall was absolutely incapable to fight with Lily, what he was saying was just too hilarious that it made me feel bad for him.

And when it comes to Barney and Robin the best part was when they got to the moment where they couldn't use their no fighting techniques anymore.

Neil Patrick Harris And Cobie Smulders Nail This Episode

A raise in quality from the last episode.

Plot In A Paragraph: Barney believes that Marshall and Lily's relationship is in major trouble because Lily makes Marshall wash his dishes immediately instead of letting them sit in the sink. He sees it as a sign that Marshall is whipped, and that he should stand up for himself. Marshall follows Barney's advice which leads to Marshall and Lily having the biggest fight of their lives. And Marshal sleeping at Ted's. Meanwhile Barney says that he and Robin never fight, with each having a special technique to avoid fights. Ted doesn't believe it as Barney and Robin are the two worst people when it comes to being in a relationship. Elsewhere Ted and Robin have noisy neighbours. Ted tells his ids the story using the euphemism of "playing the bagpipes" for what the neighbours are doing.

Neil Patrick Hariss and Cobie Smulders make this episode, they have great chemistry together and I much prefer them as a couple than Ted and Robin.

The Flanderization continues
simbrab31 May 2016
This episode has lots of funny moments, starting with Narrator Ted's obvious censorship and euphemisms and including a reference to the concept of the slap bet (this time with Marshall as the victim). Yet it's sad to watch the characters be more and more reduced to some silly traits in the name of comedy.

In this episode, Barney is pure evil while Marshall is acting irrationally and plain stupid. This sets off a huge fight between Marshall and Lily for no reason. Even worse, at the end of the episode, just when the fight is finally over, Marshall breaks character. Disposable plastic glasses? Seriously? Isn't Marshall supposed to be "eco-guy"? What about garbage island (okay, that's a little ways down the road, but it's not like Marshall hasn't always been very environmentally aware)?

And what about the soundtrack to the fighting scene between Barney and Robin? No "Murder Train"? I'd call that a missed opportunity.
