Great opening to the second series

Warning: Spoilers
I was pleased when I saw that this excellent series was returning for a second series. As the first series ended it appeared that things were getting better for Annie, Mitchell and George however as this series begins it appears new dangers are on their way. Set almost a month after the last series ended George's girlfriend Nina is worried that she may become a werewolf after he accidentally scratched her; this has led to her avoiding contact with him. As she hasn't been able to tell him of her fears he believes her distancing herself from him is due to her being repulsed by what he is. To make matters worse a new pair of vampires has arrived in Bristol and they are taking an interest in George, Ivan wants to fight him and his partner wants to sleep with him. There are also dangers of an altogether human variety in the form of a scientist who is seen experimenting on supernatural beings, what he does to one poor werewolf is rather gory to say the least. The episode isn't all doom and gloom though as some comic relief is provided when Annie goes for a job at a local pub and is a little too enthusiastic.

It is hard to judge a series by its opening episode but this introduced several new characters nicely and I'm looking forward to seeing how the story progresses.
