The Continuation Problem
scottwilliam-1110713 March 2024
When Leonard and Howard ask Sheldon how he knows so much about football???Sheldon talks about growing up in Texas. However he doesn't mention one ioda about his father being a high school football coach. If only the writers of Big Bang Theory had a crystal ball and they could see what takes place with the future hit Young Sheldon. BBT would have never have had Sheldon and Sheldon's mom say such terrible things about his father throughout the BBT series. The Young Sheldon writers would loved to have not had this problem because anybody who watches Young Sheldon knows that the dad actually plays a quite lovable character. So now it becomes very complicated on how to write out the George character on Young Sheldon. This was a typically funny Big Bang Theory episode but for anybody that watches Young Sheldon they know that it would be quite odd for Sheldon not to have immediately brought up that his dad was a high school football coach when asked about the subject.

The Cornhusker Vortex

This again feels like a bit of an episode that runs out of steam, but there are more than enough lovely moments for fans to enjoy.

I liked the Raj and Howard storyline too.

Overall, another good episode.

The Cornhusker Vortex (#3.6)

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is less funny than the previous ones but still great comedy compared to may others. Leonard trying to fit in with Penny's friends by watching football was a good story. Sheldon talking to him in codes about "indigenous fauna" was a great scene. Just like Leonard getting out once he found out they just got to half time. Him narrating the game was so funny too. Howard and Raj's story seemed like a filler but it was so cute. I love the friendship between these characters.

I Remember When Nebraska Had Good Football Teams!
Hitchcoc5 October 2021
This starts out with the foursome out flying kites in a competitive game. Raj and Howard lose because Howard chases after a jogger. The central plot has to do with Penny having some friends over to watch the Nebraska football game. She doesn't include Leonard and he becomes paranoid that she is too embarrassed to introduce him. So he decides to learn football in a week. Eventually, Sheldon teaches him (being from Texas, he knows everything about the game). This leads to some pretty funny stuff at the next party. He quotes things Sheldon has told him and they seem utterly out of place. Quite a funny episode.

"The Cornhusker Vortex" is another great ep of "The Big Bang Theory"
tavm3 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
On a day Sheldon, Leonard, Raj, and Howard go flying kites, Penny is preparing to watch a college football game with her friends. So she turns new boyfriend Leonard down when he invites her to go with them. And she knows Leonard will be bored if he spends time with her friends watching a game neither he nor his friends have any interest in. Still, Leonard is a bit miffed about Penny not inviting him. That's all I'll say about that plot except it's another hilarious episode of "The Big Band Theory" especially when Sheldon reveals his knowledge about the sport! Oh, and wait till you hear Raj's explanation of why he can't talk to women sober! So on that note, The Cornhusker Vortex is another excellently funny ep of "The Big Bang Theory".
