Back in The Game.
Sleepin_Dragon17 October 2021
The big decision is made, to re-enter the games. New alliances are formed.

I was a little unsure after the first two episodes, I now find myself, like many others, totally booked. I spent my time wondering what the next game was going to be, and was not disappointed. You wonder what's next, this was fiendishly clever.

I like that groups are starting to form now. Great visuals once again.

Getting hooked, 8/10.

Suspenseful
lareval26 September 2021
After the transitional episode 2, this one kicks gear again. Even if the humour takes over a little too much in my case, this is another great outing that continues to be addictive and heart pounding.

Much Tense
AvionPrince166 October 2021
This episode is clearly more tense. Every episode in the squid game is pretty more tense, have a fast tempo, and its kind mysterious because we asked ourself each time which game they will play this time and who s gonna die. Pretty interesting because they have a mole in the squid game team and we follow the investigation on the other side too. Nice episode with some funny moments too. We can see also some clans with some allies and ennemies.

Not sure why people are frustrated with this episode
aprocks-1687224 September 2021
I feel like this episode is kind of underrated. People seem to get upset with the slow scenes that exist in this show, but where I don't understand that argument is each of these slow scenes aren't without reason. Every scene in this episode for example is not without expositional purpose. The scenes showing each of the characters that we've gotten to know forming a bond with others, the scenes that are further fletching out the personality of each of the characters and how they choose to go about the game; each scene, fast or slow, is calculated and with reason, something I cannot get enough of from this show. If you've now reached this third episode, don't you dare think about stopping now.

Another thing I would like to address without spoiler is how much I am loving the different narratives we follow in this show. Many shows will simply make you follow along with one individual, especially in a show which there is a sort of competition. Although the show has since narrowed down on different individuals, it is still allowing you to view this chaotic game their playing from many different directions, continuously offering a surprise around every corner and not focusing on the development of one person, but of many.

Sheer brilliance
Leofwine_draca2 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The second fantastic episode of the show. Everything with a game in it seems to be brilliant at this point and the game that climaxes this episode is astonishingly suspenseful. Up until that point we get one engrossing sub-plot after another, and the usual Korean quality when it comes to acting and directing.

Tension
raffaellofilipus17 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is yet another great episode, and is really tense. I imagine being in that situation, and thinking how scary it is to break the dalgona candy. It also shows us Sang Woo's first act of betrayal, that bastard.

First episode in the series that I like
sdqftq9 October 2021
This one was incredibly entertaining. One of the best thing this show does is fill the series with tense, and exciting moments, and this is the best example so far. So yeah, really good.

Loving this show!
spainahmad1 October 2021
The characters are the highlight of the show. I already love the female character so much, she's so badass and beautiful, literally stealing the show. The idea of playing the games is very engaging and this show is getting better by each episode!

Choosing To Go Back To The Game
vivianla13 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Well lots of people end up choosing to go back to the game. The police officer tailing the van stops and hides under the van that drives on to a ferry. All the vans are stopped and the red masked people get out. The police officer attacks the masked red person that drove and takes his uniform, throwing out the body alongside his police badge.

All the players are wheeled on beds to the site where they are stripped of their clothes and clothed with the uniform.

The main character allies with the old man and treats him so nicely. He also befriends the Indian man who saved him and reunites with his school friend.

There is a hilarious scene where the woman who did not name her baby wants to use the washroom. She says there is a bunch of men do they expect her to pee on the floor?! She pulls down her pants and makes a huge scene. The red masked man ends up opening the door to let her go and the pickpocket joins her. The woman takes out a lighter cigarettes that is in a condom in her vagina. In the washroom the pickpocket opens the stall door to see the woman smoking. She climbs up and goes through the ceiling grate. She finds the red masked people melting sugar. The woman makes a hilarious huge scene about constipation and how there is no toilet paper to buy time.

The masked person goes in and opens the stall door to reveal the pickpocket with toilet paper, appearing to help the woman. The woman goes on about sexual assault to the disguised person.

The police officer goes to his room. It is a small room with a toilet - it looks like a jail cell. There is a CCTV that includes the toilet.

The players are shown to the playground. There are four shapes and the university grad seems to know it is the game dalgoma after speaking to the pickpocket. However he is selfish and keeps this from his team.

People who break the piece to be carved out are shot.

One man who loses attacks the individual about to fire. He takes the gun and shoots. He then demands for the mask to be taken off and it reveals a young man. The square leader kills the disguised man as the rule is if they know who you are, you're dead.

kind of a week episode, but good character development.
mm-3911 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The Man with the Umbrella is kind of a week episode, but good character development. There is this lame cookie episode, but the viewer sees the character develop during and before the game. All need the money and are desperate, but behave differently when under stress. There is cheating, greed, bullies, and the protagonist has a kind side with a old man. There is a slight hint a friend is not a friend when there is an idea of what the game is and says noting. The Umbrella has a lame game but the character development keeps the viewer interested. 7 stars.

Love to be back in the game!
ijustlovetowatch28 September 2021
The plot of this episode is well-written. You really get to know the participant dynamics and get some idea of the structure and hierarchy within the masked gang. This episode is where you get a glimpse of hope for the desperate participants but also realise that you will watch many more brutal scenes before getting to the resolution.

I have a small problem with some of the script-writing and/or non-verbal acting though. Sometimes the actors act with an expression that I find a little unrelatable, for instance, when the survivors of the game hear gun-shots after leaving the game room, instead of looking sad and hopeless, they look shocked only... but surely they know the losers of the game are going to die right? Also, one of the key characters is an ahole (which is fine as a character), but I don't understand why another key character who is rather level-headed and normal would want to help this person instead of anyone else in the game to win the game. I try to withhold judgement at this point, but I really hope the story doesn't go down a path where aholes can get away with any behaviour just by sticking with the nice people.

All in all, it's a good episode and interests me to keep watching.

Could be a lot better
jonah-jf22 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
1. He survived last seconde at the end -> that's to obvious 2. It's overacted I know, but the woman with the lighter is very annoying 3. They planed it so good. Why are they so dumb and trust them so much - it would be much more realistic, when they would have had cameras on the toilet 4. Really? It's the one who wanted to check the undercovercop who dies? Really? Very bad written

I hope the other episodes will be better. I liked episode 1 and 2 a lot more.

He chose the umbrella
gedikreverdi9 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
They got back to the island again. The officer sneaked in and killed one of them in a mask and become one of them. They played the second game and they tried to cut out certain shapes from a cookie with a needle. It wasn't as fun as the first one but still it was creepy. One of the woman cheated with a lighter. None of the players from the army that they formed died. A player held hostage one of the masked man when he failed and he shot himself when he saw a young man behind the mask. And then they shot the masked man because if identity is revealed, then you're dead.

[8.5] It will just get more merciless
cjonesas13 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 3: Very interesting, well-acted with the right amount of tension, comic moments and score throughout and altogether. It is deeper than you might think, some character's behavior is just strange and he is not trustworthy at all IMO.

Game 2 was very intelligently structured and it took patience, skill, dexterity and steel nerves to succeed in it.

Another matter, as you saw, they do not joke around. When they tell you not to talk and especially not to take your mask off, that is pretty serious and any guard who doesn't strictly follow those rules will pay the consequences with his life!

That world is immoral and stark and it will just get more merciless.

A bit dissapointed After 2 great episodes
nicofreezer1 October 2021
Épisode 3 is clearly weaker than the first two, the acting seems more forced and not as good as previouly. Still a strong 7.5/10 Lets see whats next but maybe a 2hours movie would have been better for the story.

so far............
dollfacecrafter11 October 2021
This is a strange show, a korean hunger games of sort, the acting is way over the top and some of the actors are so dramatic about everything, it is like watching an old time Bruce Lee movie or an old Godzilla movie. I started watching this because it is all the rage right now, everyone I know is watching it. I dont know, it might get better, I like the games part, the other stuff is just meh.

Wow! It's not an easy game...
dakuchonekobing9 October 2021
It's not easy at all if the death clock keeps ticking right next to you.

Well, an episode tells many things, there's drama, humor, also horror, although there are still some little illogical mistakes such as the large-scale organized and a lot of money criminals don't even have one camera in those 'kidnap' cars. Despite appearing of those little mistakes, this episode developed very well and intrigued the viewers. This is not some cheap game, this is a high level game. I enjoyed this episode very well. And I think the masked young man at the end of the episode being shot to death shows a painful message of young Koreans looking to the future in a society saturated with development, a difficult and hopeless future...

Turn off your mind for this one
aboalhyjaa21 September 2021
First 15 minutes the writers of this episode were testing my patience. The entire begging and part of the ending i was like, why? That shouldn't and couldn't happen in a multi-billionaire game, but indeed it happened and if you want to enjoy the series you as a viewer should accept this scenes as we are only in the 3rd episode and yet there's a lot of mistakes to come.

Why this title?
AyonSahaa10 October 2021
This title is clearly a spoiler. Those who already know the game method will know who will take the umbrella. It's a kinda spoiler to me. Don't know the perspective of the other.

One thing, I already guessed what was going to happen. Otherwise, it's a good episode.

S1.E3 - Could Have Been Better [7/10]
panagiotis19934 October 2023
(S1. E3) My Reaction / Review for Squid Game Season 1 Episode 3 ''Usan-eul sseun namja'': Episode 2 was good and I gave it a rating of 7.5/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. It's interesting that this police officer wants to investigate. Many familiar faces are back for the games, that's cool. This new game kinda sucks. The first game they played was so thrilling, dangerous and fun. This game sucks. The police officer pretends to be one of the security guys and that's very dangerous. It's a matter of time before they realize who he is. Overall a good episode but not a masterpiece, I wish the game was better and more fun. My rating is 7/10.
